Pov Midnight Lily

I never asked to work for Ahuizotl. Our people were grateful when he saved us from the Diamond dogs, but they didn't realize they were just trading one Slave master for another, and we were to blind to see it and when we did he kept us in line by sticking his jungle cats on us, now we are to afraid to act against him I just hope his stupidity will not be the end of us. I hope I can convince this creature to betray the one who summoned it.

I walked down the gold brick corridor, the temple was of a very ancient design, my steps echoing off the walls and resonating throughout the empty corridor. I had been tasked to take care of the creature that Ahuizotl summoned with his blood ritual. I hope it doesn't eat ponies, but hopefully if its intelligent I can get it to betray Ahuizotl and help free my people from him. The odds of that are minimal at best. I turned the corner to find myself in the room it was being kept, it was in the older sections of the temple, this actually severed as the sacrificial alter when the temple was being used by the creatures who built it, hence the table in the center. The creature struggled against it's bindings, not noticing my presence. I extended my wings and gave a couple flaps sending me into the air, I hovered near him so I could get a better look at the creature. I could not tell whether it had an athletic build or not, as I have not seen any of his kind before. I determined him male when he growled in frustration trying to get loose. He had his eyes clamped shut so he hasn't noticed me hovering over him, the closest thing to him was a Minotaur and almost everything has less muscles then them, so if I had to guess I would say was more on the wiry side, but not overly so. A mop of dirty black hair adorned his head contrasting his rather pale skin, I would also have to say he has a strong jaw-line. Stubble of black hair came down from the side of his face and over his chin, most likely the start of a beard. His clothes were not overly impressive, some pants that were made of an unknown fabric and a plain white shirt, but this gave a sign that he was indeed sentient and intelligent if its people could create clothes. Then his eyes opened and stared into mine, it sent a chill down my body then he looked away, scanning the room for something, his eyes finally settled on his spear leaning against the wall by the doorway.

I felt a breeze. I stopped struggling against my bindings, opening my eyes quickly, I found a floating horse next to me, Pegasus right, yeah that's what they are. It had ridiculously short wings, I honestly had no clue how it flew the wings seemed to short. It was all black except for its mane and tail, those were dark green and its eyes, they were unusually large, and forward facing which was not typical for a prey animal, but they were light blue. I scanned the room looking for my spear, the ancient stone caught my eye for a few seconds before I found my spear leaning against the wall near the doorway.

I looked back at the pony and said "I don't suppose you could grab me that spear back."

I wasn't sure what surprised me more, it's eyes widening in surprise like it understood me or that she went and got it and brought it next to the table, I was currently held down on.

Then the real kicker was when she opened her mouth and these words came out "You won't eat me will you." The voice was oddly feminine.

Of course I had to say this back to her "Depends will you get me off this table or not." Her eyes showed fear and she quickly complied. What? I couldn't get to her before now she's taking the chance of me harming her just because of a threat I had no possible way to back up. How dumb are these Pegasuses. Oh and by the way I think i just broke the promise to my mother. My inner voice chose to speak up Which one. I replied internally The one about not doing drugs. Laughing filled my cranium for a short time. I sat up, the female Pegasus backed up a few steps. I grabbed my spear and stood, I launched myself across the room and fell. What just happened I tried to stand again only to find myself on the floor again. I kept over compensating it seemed that there was a lack of gravity. Of course that's how she was able to fly with such short wings there isn't as much gravity here then on Earth, for now expect a bit of boost in strength and stamina because of the lack of gravity but your muscles not having to work as much might degrade over time. My inner voice informed me, I was in the mean time panicking over the words then on Earth, I'm still on earth right maybe in a comma don't worry your wake up at some point and this will all be a dream or a comma, I am not looking forward to the hospital bill if it was the last one.

I heard snickering and looked to find the pony sitting on its haunches laughing. I then stood up being careful not to fall and started walking, then after about 10 minutes of doing that I tried running for another 15 minutes and I figure I had those pat down. That's when I turned my attention to the Pegasus, who had watched me curiously.

"So what is it you want, and how did I get here, your name, in that order." I said my voice in its normal baritone state.

"I want your help, You were summoned in Ahuizotl's Blood ritual, Midnight lily." She said a trace of fear was still in her voice as she spoke to me from across the room.

"What is this blood ritual and why, pleasure to meet you Midnight, and my help with what... Oh, and how'd you pick up my spear with hooves?" I asked. She looked less nervous when she spoke this time answering some questions that had been bugging me

"The blood ritual is dark magic using Dragon Blood and magic to summon a fearsome warrior, or is supposed to, I am not sure if you would qualify as fearsome," The guy who lost an arm to me might have something to say about that, "Why is to kill Daring Do who has been stopping his plans recently. I want your help in freeing my people from his rule, we are nothing but slaves to him. So I'd appreciate it if you would help me. And as for picking things up that's easy we just...Do" She said that last part sheepishly. I chuckled, I was slightly disappointed as that had bugged me the most. Then my inner voice initiated a conversation So do we want to help her or Ahuizotl, or kill Ahuizotl and take over, so hero or villain. Inner Voice made a good point, We kill Ahuizotl as he supposedly "summoned" me here and if that is even remotely true I want revenge, he ripped me from everything I hold dear. I don't do slaves so I am not taking over, I guess we are going down Hero path for now... and we might as well have fun while we do it, since this is totally a byproduct of a comma Inner Voice stayed silent. The exchange took less then a second and I turned my attention to Midnight who waited for a response.

And I gave one "I am quite fearsome when it is needed, I don't feel like killing innocents so I'm not offing Daring Do." She looked relived as the words left my mouth, I continued, "Sure I'll help you free your people, I don't do enslavement." Her eyes expanded and she shot forward tackling me in a hug saying "Thankyouthankyouthankyou." rather rapidly.

"Don't thank me yet the job isn't done, and how do you know I'm not going to betray you." I say to her pushing her off. She then quickly composed herself and looked at me with a bit of suspicion and replied "Of course."

"You do have a plan to accomplish this task don't you." I say to her a bit skeptically, her expression doesn't help.

"Yeah wait until next time Daring Do shows up and then take him out?" Midnight replied to my statement.

"Welp, that plan sucks, we need a new one, we don't know when this Daring will show up, whether she will show up or not. I think I should possibly earn his trust then stab him in the back or something or we could just slam open his door and be like, Ima gonna kill you now and kill him." I said to her she had a very peeved look on her face.

"It was good until you got to the or something part then I stopped listening as the stupidity was to much for me to handle." She said deadpanning, I stuck my tongue out at her rather childishly. Why I did this I do not know.

"But do you have anything better then my plan." I say back to her.

"Well by the time you have his trust, I should have a plan ready to go." She remarked.

"Well then let's make that happen." I reply with a slight smirk.
