His breath smells and his teeth are filed to sharp points. He is smiling and his eyes reflect my terror. I try to kick him but he holds me just out of range. His hand is now around my throat as he pulls his sword back to stab. I won't give him the pleasure of killing me with my eyes shut. Suddenly the sword is jerked from his hand and impales him in the back, even though nobody is holding it. He bursts into ashes and I fall to the ground gasping and bleeding from the stab wounds. I'm jerked up again by an invisible force. I am dragged behind a bush and Jaime appears in front of me without warning.

"Oh shit... We gotta get you healed up man. Karli can heal people, so I'll go grab her. Just hang tight and don't move." He disappears again and returns in a minute as he and Karli become visible.

She places her hands on my wounds and a feeling of warmth and ecstasy flows through me. I look at the wound as it mends itself.

"You should be alright now." She says. Jaime pulls my sword out of his waistband and hands it to me.

"I figured you might want this. The others are about 25 feet away. They are alright, but we'll need to cut our way through these bastards to get to them." He cracks his knuckles and turns invisible. Karli helps me up as we charge into the fight.

My sword comes to life in my hands and I see some of the Mogs walking towards where I assume the others are hiding. I run behind one and jam my sword through his chest and slice upwards. He bursts into ashes which coats my body. We drop the mogs we see and the rest disappear into the forest. Joey and the others run towards the direction our car is in and I follow them. I see the parking lot and shout.

"Fuck! They totaled it..." Joey yells and punches a tree. His fist goes straight through it with no resistance.

"We gotta walk then." Jaime starts down the gravel path towards the main road. We follow him and don't speak at all.

After walking for an hour on the main road, a black vehicle pulls over and a man gets out. He runs over to us and looks us over.

"Shit... What happend to you guys? Do you need some help?" He looks like a cepan and is wearing a lab coat.

"Yeah... We we're attacked by mogadorians... We need to contact our cepans." Jaime says.

"Mogadorians... Let me make a call real quick. You guys will get all the help you need in a bit." He jogs to his car and pulls out a communicator and talks in an urgent voice. He jogs back and smiles nervously," I'm from the Lorien Defense Academy... I'm stationed in this area to do research on disappearances. It's a good thing I found you kids. I have help coming very soon.

Before long more cars arrive and a ship lands on the road near us. We are all rushed to different cars and don't get a chance to say goodbye. Two loric walk out of the ship and split off. I recognize one as Solina, and the other is a tall robed man with grey hair. He briefly looks at me and I see a loralite pendant around his neck similar to Solina's, except that it has the loric symbol for 9 in it.

"Are you okay Adam?" Solina places a hand on my shoulder.

"Not really. Why are all these people here? And where is Tanner?" As if to answer my last question Tanner speeds to a stop in his car and runs towards me.

"Damn! I received the call and was freaking out Adam! Are you alright?" He breaks down and hugs me tight.

"Yeah... Can we please go home? I'm tired Tanner." He nods and leads me away from Solina. She stares at me and then I hear her voice.

"Prepare yourself Adam. The future is uncertain to all but you."

She turns around and walks towards the ship.

"What could she mean?" I think to myself.

I find out when I fall asleep later that night. The vision comes on slowly at first...

The sky of Lorien is light blue and the gentle wind licks my skin. I am at an airstrip with Tanner and forty other people. Lilith and her cepan are there. So are Jaime and his Cepan. Three ships stand before us with their doors open. I have a pendant that looks like Solina's. We all board the ships and Tanner places his hand on my shoulder and squeezes it. He has a nervous smile, and a odd device strapped to his wrist, with my loric chest over his shoulder. Suddenly stars shoot past me as the vision seems to fast-forward. It stops after a minute and I see a huge planet looming in front of us. It's bigger than Lorien, and I realize it's Earth. The vision speeds up again and comes into focus as we step off the ship in some sort of jungle. A huge pyramid rises up from in front of us. It seems untouched by the surrounding wilderness, as though frozen in it's own bubble of time. Nine of the garde are separated from the group including Jaime, who looks as strong and big as Joey, the girl from the parking lot the first time I used my telepathy. and I. They all look to be around my age. We are herded to the top of the pyramid and stand on loric symbols for the numbers 1 through 9. I'm placed on the number 2, and Jaime is placed on the number 9. A fairly young looking Garde in his 20's climbs up the stairs and stands on the pedestal in the center. My loric pendant starts to glow. He starts to says words in loric that I've never heard before. I feel a burning sensation on my right ankle and look to see a scar appearing. I hear the other garde in the circle scream and moan as the pain gets more intense. I start to scream and I hear Tanner's voice from somewhere near me.

"Wake up Adam! It's going to be alright. Adam! Wake up kiddo!" My eyes shoot open and Tanner is standing over me and shaking me.

"Tanner! Where am I?!" I moan with confusion.

"In our house Adam, I was about to go to work when you started yelling and screaming in your sleep." Concern is plastered across his face.

"Oh... I had a dream we were boarding ships with other loric. We went to Earth and I was on a pyramid with 8 other kids my age. This one Garde came and chanted something and this scar appeared on my ankle. It hurt a lot and I screamed until you woke me up." I sit up and put my feet on the floor.

"Have you had a dreams like this before?" His concern is replaced by curiosity.

"The first time I put on the Aurator. It felt like my mind tuned into something I've never felt before." I rub my eyes and look at my nightstand. The loralite pendant with the number two is laying on top of a book I was reading.

"That's Solina's pendant. How did it get on my night stand?" I ask Tanner. He blinks and takes the pendant. The concern creeps back on to his face.

"Keep this with you at all times Adam. Don't let it leave your sight. I have to get to work. Call me if you need anything. I'll be home in awhile." He ruffles my hair, puts the pendant around my neck, and rushes out of my room.

"I wonder what he's acting all weird about?"

I shower, change into some baggy gym shorts, and pull on a colorful tank top. I go to the kitchen and grab a random fruit from a basket on the counter. Before I can take a bite, the doorbell rings. I set down the fruit and open the front door. I see a mane of fire red hair through the window.

"Hey! Do you remember me? I'm Lilith from the camping trip." She smiles and her straight white teeth show.

"Oh yeah... Uhhh... Hey." Is all I can manage to say.

"Dumbass! That's not how you talk to a girl. Get it together."I hear Joey's voice in my head.

"How the fuck are you able to see me?" I ask him

"Your cepan let me in when he left. I didn't have anywhere better to be... So I decided to annoy you." He thinks back.

"Why are you vacantly staring at my face?" Lilith asked.

"Oh... Sorry. Joey is here and he's talking to me in my head from some other room." I smile and let her in. A small rodent like creatures peaks out through her hair.

"What is that little animal?" I ask her.

"It's my chimaera. Puff. He rarely leaves my side. Yesterday was an exception though." She looks fondly at the little furry creature.

"I've never seen one in that form. It's pretty cute though." Puff sprouts little wings and flies over to my shoulder. He rubs against my neck and licks my cheek.

"I like you." I hear/sense it say.

"Is animal telepathy a separate legacy from normal telepathy?" I ask Lilith.

"Yeah... Why do you ask?" She has a slight smile.

"I think I have it! I can hear him talking in my head." Excitement floods through me. My second legacy.

"It sometimes develops from Telepathy. I wish I had that legacy." She looks at me enviously.

"C'mon motherfuckers! I'm bored. Come chill in the living room with me!" Joey yells from the other room.

We walk in and find Joey standing near my patio door with a big bag of tennis balls. He chucks one at my head and it's stopped by Lilith's telekinesis.

"What the fuck Joey!?" Is all I get out before 3 more tennis balls fly towards me and hit me in the stomach.

"Sorry man. I just want to try to get you're telekinesis working. Tanner asked me to help before he left for work." He chuckles then pulls more tennis balls out of the bag.

"Let's do that shit outside then! You might break something in here.

After 3 hours of Joey throwing tennis balls at me while I sweat profusely, I lay down on the grass. I hear someone walking towards me.

"Adam! Watch out! He's got a sledgehammer!" I open my eyes and see Joey swinging a sledge hammer straight for my face.

"FUCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!" Is all I can scream before the hammer stops inches from my face. Joey looks confused and let's go. The hammer is floating. My telekinesis has finally arrived.

I send the hammer spinning up into the air and it lands 30 feet away in my neighbors back yard.

"Fuck man. That's my favorite sledge hammer." Joey grumbles.
