Chapter 23

Kagome POV

I looked at Inuyasha seeing Kanna still laying there, but she had moved from where Sesshomaru had placed her. Inuyasha saw me and frowned as I walked up with Sesshomaru.

"Hey wench, where did my sword go? I didn't get an answer from Naraku's little pet here."

"Inuyasha! SIT SIT SIT SIT SIT!"

I watched his face get implanted into the soil and I smile before walking over to Kanna. Being around Sesshomaru was making me more violent. I would let the brothers fight it out, that is how it always seemed to end, I had other stuff to do, little Kanna here was hurt.

I bend down and pick her up gently walking over to the shade of some trees. Setting her down I brush her hair and sit with her well waiting for her to wake up. I watch Inuyasha jump as Sesshomaru and then start to try and fight him.

After a couple minutes the fight stopped and they stood facing each other talking about something I couldn't hear. I see sesshomaru glance at me and I blush, the two of them walk towards Kanna and I so I guessed they were done fighting.

"Kagome, we have come to a compromise. When the Taija and Monk get here all of us are to head to my castle, once there me and Inuyasha are to leave to take down Naraku. The rest of you will stay at my castle where you will be protected."

"Sesshomaru, please don't leave me behind, If your hurt I could heal you!"

"If you were there I would have to focus on protecting you and I would not be able to fight fully, I will go get the mirror for the little void demon, I leave her in your care."

I could hear Inuyasha grumbling about how we should just kill her and I gave him an extra sit just to make sure he knew I heard that. I then watched the two of them walk away. I knew Sesshomaru was right, but I would be hurt so much if he died or got really really hurt.

I looked down as I heard Kanna start to wake up. She looked up at me as she opened her eyes before looking down.

"I have failed, did you capture me?"

"Kanna, do not worry, you are to stay with me, I wont let Naraku hurt you anymore."

I hold the little girl to me, at first she was startled but then she relaxed in my arms. I look across the clearing to see Miroku and Sango walking this way. Sango looks at Kanna laying in my arms snuggled up to me.

"Sesshomaru didn't kill her? I thought since she was one of Naraku's reincarnations that he would kill her right away."

"Kanna will be staying with me, she is just a little girl, even you must remember this, even with your hate for Naraku."

"Your right Kagome, did Sesshomaru take Inuyasha off somewhere else?"

I pointed behind her as the two stepped out of the woods and headed towards us. Ah-Un was with Sesshomaru and I smiled, knowing Rin, Shippo, and Jaken had made it to the castle, sending Ah-Un back to help me.

I stand Kanna holding onto my leg. I chuckled as Sesshomaru gave her a glare. We then all started walking west.

A/N: The last 2 chapters after this sometime over this next weekend, sorry was gone for so long, family problems and a whole bunch of school work slowed me down, don't know when the epilouge will be posted but the week after that will continue One Wish
