-Six Year Time Skip-

"I've been doing some research," Talia states sitting at her desk. The tone, in which she speaks, is so much more mature than someone of her age should be. She's grown so much since the day she came to us from the pit. Both in body and mind. Her skin has finally gained a normal color after spending much of her childhood in the dark and her body has finally reached a much healthier weight, though still quite slim from rigorous training. Now that she is our new leader The League has remained dormant. This meeting she arranged was quite unexpected.

"Because of the events that occurred in Gotham five years ago, with The Joker, Bruce Wayne has become a recluse. Although his seclusion from society has not refrained him from continuing to try to be Gotham's so called hero. A contact has informed me of Wayne Enterprises fusion reactor that is meant to supply Gotham City with a source of clean energy. This project has used much of his and his investors money. Thanks to a connection The League has in Gotham, we have also invested in this 'green' project under the name of Miranda Tate. When I do move to Gotham in a few months I will take on this identity to gain the trust of those in Wayne's inner circle.

While I'm doing this, you three along with others of The League will be in Jaiama Nimikoro, Kono, West Africa securing diamond mining rights for Daggett Industries. We need to gain the trust of John Daggett and, once we have it, his construction company will play a key part in the destruction of Gotham. I will further elaborate on these plans when we meet again in Gotham. Your flight to Kono leaves tonight. Everything you need is already packed and on the plane. I would prefer you wear your mask Bane. I believe it will instill fear in the others."

She dismisses us and we all exit the room quietly. I break this silence once we're in the hallway.

"This was unexpected."

Bane looks down to regard me, "Yes it is quite sudden. I didn't know she had been planning so fiercely behind closed doors. I do admit that I am proud that she has put together a plan on her own, but I do wish she would have consulted us while she was making it."

Barsad doesn't say anything as we make our way to the mess hall for a late lunch. My chicken is cold by the time it reaches my mouth, but it's better than nothing and I eat it anyway. Our empty trays are placed in the dirty dishes bin and we resume our afternoon training. The training does get tedious when you do it for the majority of your life, but now that Bane, Barsad, and I all train together it's not as boring.

The plane we fly on is not to big just enough for us and another dozen League members. I fall asleep on the way over, which seems to be a regular occurrence for me on plane rides. We land around ten in the morning and vehicles from Daggett Industries await us. We are told to go ahead and get ready for combat and once we're all armed we climb on the jeeps and our drivers take us to the site we have to obtain.

There are more people than I thought there would be, but thankfully there aren't any child soldiers. The men scramble to get to there weapons, while some already have their machine guns ready and firing. Luckily, they don't have very good aim and Daggett also supplied us with bullet proof vests. Bane, Barsad, and I fight alongside each other like we did back in Kolkata. We work really well together and we always finish with no serious harm done. Everyone in The League is trained to have perfect aim, so it's not long before all our opponents are dead and we are making camp.

Bane radios the group waiting that it's all clear. The remaining people from Daggett Industries come and set up all of their mining equipment and we watch them work in silence. A food truck comes up a short while later and everyone takes a break to eat some lunch. It's mostly just non-perishables, like canned food and we grab a pot to cook some soup over a fire next to our tent. After everyone's satisfied Bane calls them over and we discuss perimeters and patrols. We make ourselves at home as we put out the fire. The sweltering heat beating down on our skin. I rip off my bulletproof vest and set it near enough to grab and throw back on if the need arises. Bane and Barsad follow my lead, but they have the ability to take off their undershirts without being indecent. I stare enviously at their bare chests and wonder why women aren't allowed to do that without making a spectacle of themselves.

Unused to the heat, my braid is making the back of my neck gather sweat. Frustrated, I rip out the hair band and run my fingers through the blonde waves, untangling them, before wadding them up and knotting them into a bun on top of my head. I can feel Bane's stare burning into my skin worse than the sun. I chance a look at him and the force of his gaze is enough for me to suck in a quick breath. He slowly lifts a finger to trace a drop of sweat down my neck to my collarbone, causing me to shiver. The need to kiss him is strong, but the mask is in the way and I curse it silently. Barsad gets up with a huff and crawls into his tent to escape.

I grab Bane's hand from my collarbone and entwine our fingers together. I place a kiss on his shoulder before leaning my head against enjoying the moment. Bane hands me a water and I gladly gulp it down. He chuckles when I had him back the empty bottle and I grin innocently up at him.

Author's Note: Sorry for such a long delay. I've had this wrote down for quite some time I've just not been able to type it. I'm trying to make this as realistic as possible so at this point in time Talia is around seventeen years old and she'll be in her early twenties when the events of Dark Knight Rises occur. Bane and Serenity will both be in their late twenties around this time as well. I hope this chapter wasn't to disappointing and I tried to incorporate a little bit of action and fluff. Thank you to all of the new followers, favorites, and reviews, it's what encourages me to write more.
