I've made just a few changes. For whatever reason autocorrect changed find to fringed. There really is no need to retread this chapter if you've read it all ready. The perfectionist in me just had to fix it.
"Ah yes, your assignment. Well, currently I have another employee who is to bring me the fingerprints of Bruce Wayne. Once I've recieved these fingerprints you and your men will go to the Stock Exchange and make some important adjustments for Mr. Wayne."
"We will do this once we have discussed the terms of payment." Bane steps forward to intimadtingly loom over the tiny man. The man shows no signs of fear other than the quick movement of his Adam's apple bobbing in his throat.
"I have offered you a decent amont of money. What else is there to discuss?"
"Along with the money, I want full control of your construction company based here in Gotham, no questions asked."
"That can be arranged."
"If I do find out that you are inquiring about the actions of your company my reaction will not be a welcomed one."
"Understood."
"If that is all my friends and I will be leaving." Without waiting for a reply Bane turns towards the door, gesturing for us to follow.
- Time Skip-
As soon as we leave Mr. Dagget's office we make our way to Dagget's construction business. Bane fires the managers with little objection and calls for a meeting of the remaining workers. Once they have all arrived he instructs them on his plans for the sewer system. Some men seem skeptical and some bravely decide to voice this skepticism.
"And we're just supposed to do what you say no questions asked? I don't know about anybody else, but I don't think I like the sound of that," my lips twitch in amusement at the misplaced bravery in this man. some people are just too outspoken for their own good.
" What isn't there to like? You do your job and you get paid. It's no different than before I arrived. The only new rule that you must follow is that you may not speak of your work to anyone. And if I happen to here word that you have, I will find the culprit and he will be punished in front of all of you as a testament of what happens when a rule is broken. I hope I have made myself clear. the construction begins tomorrow. My men will bring you some ingredients to mix with the concrete. You are dismissed."
As the workers leave it is obvious that most are still trying to understand what is going on. Although no one is asking any more questions. For obvious reasons.
After watching them leave we finally go to our temporary housing for some much needed rest. Talia has given us word of a secluded building where the league can reside until the sewer becomes habitable. Though the building isn't the best looking, it will furnishing and such was apparently left by Ra's when they first tried to take down Gotham. The smell of dust isn't the most pleasant, but I'm sure I'll get used to it.
Author's Note: I know it's extremely short, but I promise I'll post another chapter before the summer ends. I could give you a million reasons why I haven't updated, but I know y'all don't want to hear them. A special thanks to MickSyn and Guest for the support and review. I really appreciate it.
