The tall buildings of Gotham are visible in the distance from the view of my window. The building The League is still occupying lies just on the outskirts, in a less populated, more barren area. Although the scenery outside is nothing compared to the beautiful mountains that encompassed our headquarters that burnt down in Bhutan, I will still miss it once we have officially moved into the sewers. Bane has informed me that our base beneath the city should be finished quite soon.

We have been residing in this abandoned building for about five months now. Our construction company, which we borrowed from Daggett, has already finished lining the Gotham City Stadium with explosives, and football season has just begun.

Because stealth is almost impossible in this rickety building, the bedroom door creaks loudly from behind me as my companion enters through it. Bane's large frame casually joins my much smaller one in front of the open window. A crisp wind from the fall air flows through, tangling the long blond strands of my hair. Bane catches one and slowly twirls it around his finger, playing with the strand.

"We have decided against releasing the Arkham inmates once our plan is in motion."

"Will the Blackgate prisoners still be released?" I glance up at him as I ask. The warm glow of the distant setting sun transforms his face into a shade of bright orange. His eyes are brought to life as the sun reflects off them, making them ethereal in appearance.

"We will do whatever it takes to bring Gotham to its knees." I absently nod my head and turn to watch the sun slowly disappear on the horizon. When only a sliver of orange light is left illuminating the sky, Bane clears his throat, "Come, dinner is waiting."

The make-shift mess hall is packed as all of The League tries to get their serving of tonight's meal. A few spot us enter, and the crowd quickly parts to let us pass. The respect that Bane has gained is quite remarkable, if not for Talia, he would be welcomed as leader with open arms.

Barsad joins us, walking swiftly behind me. We pass through the line, quickly filling our trays, and sit at a table. The food is bland and tasteless, but that's to be expected in our current situation. Hopefully once our plan is in motion the cooks will get better ingredients. For now I will just have to resist letting my distaste make itself known on my face. Bane quickly finishes his food before his medicine starts to wane. He continues to wear his mask in public, but once we retire to our room at night he removes it and uses his injections.

A hand nudges mine and I realize I've been staring. I look down immediately, but I don't blush because I have nothing to be embarrassed about. We take our trays to sit with the other dirty dishes, and we part ways with Barsad.

The door shuts behind me, and I turn towards Bane as he speaks, "Are you prepared for tomorrow?"

"Yes. I already have my outfit laid out and ready," I say gesturing to the neatly folded clothes sitting atop the dresser. Bane moves toward the stack and picks up the skirt.

"And this length is considered acceptable for wearing in public?"

"It is the outfit Talia gave me. I did not pick it, but I assume she knows what is considered acceptable. He tosses the fabric aside and picks up the high-heeled shoes. I do admit that their height is quite ridiculous.

He places them back on the dresser and shakes his head, whether from disbelief or disgust I do not know. He unfastens his mask, revealing his scared face, and injects himself with his pain relief. I move towards our bed and sit on top of the blanket as I watch him prepare for the night. He turns his back towards me, ripping his shirt off. I watch the muscles ripple across his back, as he takes off his back brace.

Once his torso is bare, he turns toward me. I eye him as he moves closer. He picks me up, and I basically wrap myself around him as our mouths enthusiastically lock together. He falls back on the bed with me on top of him, and I curl up on his chest. His hand run soothingly through my hair and I close my eyes succumbing to my slumber.

Author's Note: Sorry it took so long. I feel like every time I post a new chapter I'm apologizing. School's started and I have an average of four to five tests/quizzes a week, plus I'm taking college English (Composition) and I have an essay due every other week. But hopefully I'll be able to type more since my last day before Christmas break is next Friday. I think y'all can guess what's going to be in the next chapter, since this one is basically a filler. For anyone who follows my Joker/OC story "Not Crazy" I have the next chapter written out I just haven't been able to type it yet. So I hope all of y'all have had a Happy Halloween and Thanksgiving and if I don't post before Christmas, Merry Christmas!

Thank you for all of the new follows, favorites and reviews! I really appreciate/love hearing feedback from you guys. If there's any questions you'd like to ask feel free, whether story related or not. I'll try to answer them the best that I can. Or if you just want to chew me out for being negligent and not posting, you can do that too.
