Outside Arkham…
"Mister Cobblepot, what an unexpected surprise. You actually came through for me."
"Indubitably, my dear fellow. Now, a small matter of payment?"
"Once I am safely transported from this dreary island. I do not intend to reimburse you for breaking me out of that accursed cell, only to be apprehended before I depart these grounds."
The avaricious apparition, Gentleman Ghost, strides away leaving the Penguin to puff in frustration. All around them, guards wait obliviously at their posts. Nobody has noticed the escape attempt – or else they're turning a blind eye.
"Very well, Craddock. If those are to be your terms, I shall gladly oblige. Let no man say Oswald Cobblepot is not a man of his word."
Suddenly the moon is blocked out by two dark shadows, gliding side by side. Penguin shrieks, near despair, while Gentleman Ghost merely folds his arms and sniffs haughtily at his snuff box.
"Time to put you back in your cage, Craddock," Batman announces, swooping to the ground.
"And we'll find a nice perch for you, too, Penguin," Robin adds, alighting beside his partner.
"You no-good do-gooders! How did you know I'd be here?" Penguin screeches.
"A little bird told us," Robin smirks.
"I have a few birds of my own who'd like to talk to you. Jailbirds that is."
Right on cue, enough brutes to fill a cell block come bumbling into the fading moonlight. They're not happy with our heroes. Here we go again! Punches fly while Penguin and Gentleman Ghost make their escape. Bam! Smack!
"We sure feathered their dusters, Batman. But where did the Penguin go? And Gentleman Ghost!"
"They're making a break for it. No use looking for them down here. We need to get a bird's eye view." Batman jabs his finger towards a fake hill, in which he's hidden conveniently placed transportation. "To the Bat-blimp!"
"Batblimp, Batplane, Batcave. Just once I'd like to rush to the Robinmobile."
