I do not own Percy Jackson or the Kane Chronicles.

TJ's PoV.

Choir wasn't as bad as Percy made it out to be. I had to do a short number to find out my range. Apparently I'm a tenor. The teacher thought I sounded good which I guess is good but she could have just been saying that to be nice. Percy on the other hand just made fun of my after the class was over but I could tell he didn't really mean any of it. Next class was gym and I ran into Carter on the way there. He had the class too. As did Matt and he didn't seem too thrilled with the idea of Percy joining us today for the class. I'm pretty sure I heard him mumble something to my brother about trying not to blow up the gym this time.

When we entered there were other kids already there waiting for the class to start. Hanging from the high ceiling were six boards with hoops and net things on them, Carter called them basketball hoops. There were rows of benches going up in a tiered fashion from the edge of the court, I think that's what it's called, until they hit the walls of the gym. These benches were where we sat waiting for the teacher or coach or whatever they call the instructor of this class. Soon enough the bell rang and in walked a middle aged guy dressed for a work out. He started taking roll and when he got to my name I said here like everyone else did but I was the first he looked up for.

"Glad you finally decided to show up." He said and then he really looked at me and then seemed to also notice my brother sitting next to me. I saw the blood drain from his face when he looked between the two of us. It was as if he was seeing a ghost. "Jackson? I thought you were expelled? And who's the clone?"

"Hey, coach William. I didn't think you still coached here." My brother said and he smiled sheepishly as if he was caught doing something he was supposed to.

"Of course I'm still here. Ever since you flooded the gym 9 years ago no other school would take me because they thought it was my fault." Percy cringed when the coach said that. "If you think you're going to be destroying my gym again you are wrong!" he was yelling at the end.

"Relax coach. I'm just visiting today. You don't have to worry about me being in your class." He gave a look at my brother the said You're going to be hurting if you're lying. "But you do get my twin brother though. At least he's not as bad as I am. I think. I just met him like yesterday so I don't really know for sure." The coach didn't look too reassured but he continued through the rest of the roll. I turned on my brother.

"You flooded the gym and you got expelled from this school?" I asked him and he just shrugged like it wasn't that big of a deal. "How'd you manage that?"

"I'm a special boy. But the flooding thing was an accident and that was just the last straw so they expelled me." He grinned at me.

"The last straw?" Carter asked him before I could.

"I'll tell you about it later. Maybe."

Today was apparently dodge ball day and we didn't have to dress out but we still had to play. Percy was allowed to play as well much to the disappointment of Matt. In the game everyone was divided into two teams and they were on different sides of the court and they threw foam balls at each other to get people out and the first team that has all of its players out loses. I thought I was doing pretty well since I lasted for a while until I got hit on the shoulder when I wasn't fast enough to get out of the way and those guys throw pretty hard. It hurt a bit but the sting went away after a minute. Matt got out not too soon after me. After a few more minutes it was down to just Percy and Carter left for our team and about ten people left for the other team. There was no way we were going to win this one.

The other team knew it too. They all got a ball to throw and all ten of them throw as one. So ten balls flying at two people. Although I have to say that Cater and my brother were pretty good at dodging. They both dodge all ten balls thrown at them and any others that came their way. Sometimes the two of them got in a lucky shot at the other team and their numbers started to decrease. It went on like that for a few minutes until there were only three guys left on the other team. One guy threw one at Carter and he didn't get out of the way fast enough and the ball bounced off his shoulder but before the ball could hit the floor Percy caught it and hurled it at one of the other two guys left on the team who looked too shocked to move and it bounced off him and hit the other one as well. Ending up with everyone on the other team being out and amazingly our team won.

Everyone on our team, aside from Matt, congratulated them on the epic win. Before another game could start the bell rang signaling the end of the day. We all grabbed our stuff and left the gym. While we were waiting for the others of our group to come find us we talked about the game. Both Carter and Percy did great.

"How can the two of you be so great at dodging? It like you're ninjas." I told them and the both laughed.

"Battle training." Carter said and Percy just shrugged.

"ADHD." He said as if it were nothing.

"So you really don't take any medication for it?" Matt asked him as if he couldn't believe it. Percy just shook his head.

"How can you even think? I can barely concentrate with meds and yet you can function perfectly fine without them." I said in a mock angry tone.

"It gets easier when you know how to use it."

"Another helpful answer from my dear brother." I grumbled. "Is there anything you can tell me without being cryptic?"

"That wasn't cryptic." He said and I just gave him the Really? look. "The reason people with ADHD have such a problem concentrating on things is because our minds can't focus on one thing, right?" and I nodded at him to show I understood. "That's where everyone thinks that it's bad to have ADHD because they think it's a good thing to be able to focus on just one thing. You also can't sit still for very long which is also frowned upon."

"I don't see how to use any of this." He rolled his eyes at me.

"I was getting to that part. Anyways, the point is, if you want to be able to focus and whatnot you have to stop focusing one just one thing." This still wasn't making any sense.

"And this will help how?" Matt asked and I saw that he was just as confused as me. Carter apparently got it though.

"Instead of focusing on the one thing you can see everything and know what else is going on around you, right?" he asked my brother and earned himself a nod. "Wow. I guess that would come in handy during a fight. Being able to see what else is going on around you while you fight the guy in front of you just in case someone was trying to sneak up from behind. What about the not being able to sit still?" at that question my brother stared fidgeting nervously.

"This is probably going to sound….well," My brother pause for a moment before heaving a sigh. "That's our natural inborn battle reflexes. It not true for everyone that has ADHD but it is true in mine and your cases." He said as he looked at me assessing my reaction. I didn't know what to say. Never before has anyone told me that I have the reflexes of a fighter and I never would have believe it if they had. I'm no fighter.

"That's not…..I'm not…I've never fought a day in my life. How can I battle reflexes?" I managed to get out after a few minutes and by that time the others had found us.

"Um, what's going on?" Zia asked and the others looked just as confused as I felt.

"That is ridiculous, Jackson. People aren't born with battle reflexes. They have to be earned through years of training." Sloan told him and I agreed with him.

"What are you guys talking about?" Sadie demanded.

"Fine if you don't believe me I'll give you a demonstration on Saturday." Then he turned back to me. "And you mister are going to help with that. None of our medications stuff and you can choose the weapons." Great, well if he's going to make me fight I might as well get something in return.

"Fine but tonight we get to test you." I told him and he raised an eyebrow at me. A few seconds past in silence.

"Ok."

Well, next chapter's going to be fun to write. ;)
