I do not own Percy Jackson or Kane Chronicles.

Carter's PoV.

Walt walked up to me after Jazz dragged TJ upstairs.

"Can we talk in privet?" he asked, looking at Percy and Julian and a few of the others play Call of Duty.

"Of course." I told him and I followed him out onto the balcony. It was getting dark outside and it was starting to cool down. "What did you want to talk about?"

"It's about Percy and TJ."

"What about them?"

"I think I know who their father is. I'm also thinking I made a terrible mistake seventeen years ago." Walt switched over to Anubis.

"Their father's Poseidon." I guessed. Anubis looked slightly alarmed.

"You know?" he asked.

"I kind of guessed that after I first met Percy but I didn't know for sure. Meeting TJ just and finding out about his control over water and that he's Percy's brother just added to that theory. That's why I wanted to research it; to rule out any other possibility. How'd you figure it out? And what mistake?"

"Seventeen years ago a man summoned me to a graveyard here in New York. He asked me to save the life of a stillborn infant. The only other time I used my powers to save a life."

"TJ." I whispered, remembering what Walt had said about TJ his first night here. The god of funerals nodded sadly. "And you think that you made a mistake when you saved his life?"

"My mistake wasn't in saving his life; it was the condition that I set in order for him to keep it." I looked at Anubis closely and saw that he was really freaked out and desperate. "I told Mr. Masterrsyn that if TJ ever turned against our Parthenon he would lose the life I gave him." He paused for a moment and I suddenly realized what that meant. "It would have been fine if no one from the either Parthenon knew about him and if he never found out about whom he is. But now…"

"If the house finds out he's form a different Parthenon or even has the blood of an immortal they might potentially kill him. But if he leaves he's dead for sure." I said slowly and Anubis hung his head. "Isn't there any way around it?" I asked him and he shook his head. "Did you know what he was when you saved him?"

"I could only tell that he had immortal blood. I couldn't tell which god was his father or which side he was from. I was hoping for Roman." He grumbled the last part under his breath and I almost didn't catch it.

"Roman?" I asked raising an eyebrow. But he just shook his head.

"The problem is Percy. He's risking a cross Parthenon war for TJ. I'm going to have to tell him about what I did but I also don't want to know how he'd react. Greeks, especially the children of Poseidon, are known for their tempers and unpredictability."

"He'll probably react better if you tell him straight out than having him find out from someone else. You also might want to explain to him why you did it while you're at it." I told him. We stood there in silence for a few minutes.

"So how did you and Percy first meet?" he asked, finally.

"It was when you of you guys went to the First Nome to study cheese demons and I had to deal with the petsuchos." I answered him and he gave me a strange look. "What?"

"Tell me it wasn't sent to go after him."

"It wasn't, technically. I'm pretty sure it was sent to bring the two Parthenons together to see what would happen. But any way, the croc ate me and I was going to use the fist of Horus to get out when it spit me out. Low and behold, there stood Percy with his magic sword and the croc swam away while we were both distracted. We kind of got into an argument, he called me a half-blood which made me angry and I sort of accidentally used the fist spell on him."

"Bad move right there Carter." Anubis flinched.

"Yeah I figured as much when he almost killed me."

"He thought you were a demigod. That's most likely why he called you a half-blood."

"He asked if I was a son of Ares." I confirmed. "But I had no idea what he meant or what he was talking about."

"Ares, the god of war." Our resident god smiled slightly. "Good guess, just the wrong war god and your connection to him."

"After that brief fight we were reminded that there was a giant crocodile on the loose so we call a temporary truce. And we successfully dealt with it as you can see. Otherwise it would have eaten the both of us. After that we decided to keep our meeting a secret but I left an eye of Horus on his hand so that if he ever needed to reach me again he could." He didn't say anything for a while.

"Well…" he started, "at least that explains his nickname for you."

"Yeah, don't tell Sadie about that. She would tease me about it relentlessly."

"That, she would." Anubis smiled for real this time.

"Do you think that we could get along with the Greeks?" I asked him. "Percy seems ok, when he's not trying to kill me, that is."

"Like Percy said before, there's a lot of bad blood between us. Even if the House and the gods wanted to try there's always the fact that the Greeks might not even consider it."

"I guess that's another thing we should talk to Percy about. Just maybe not tonight." I said, looking back through the glass door leading inside. I could see the others all laughing at something and Percy had an embarrassed look on his face. "I don't want to take the chance of him getting angry and kill us in our sleep."

"Ditto." Anubis said switching back to Walt. "Also I think we should Amos be here when we do talk with him. He should be informed that we have a two half-bloods among us, just in case." I nodded.

"I contact him. Let's head back inside, we're missing all the fun."
