"Ready to get dinner?" Zoe asked Wyatt
"No" he said
"Yes, you're supposed to say Yes Zoe." She tickled his sides and he let out a roar of laughter.
"Woey" he somehow got out between laughs "Woey." He said again and rolled around. Wade came over and stood over Zoe and Wyatt. "Dada" he said putting his hands up, begging to be saved.
"Nope, you got yourself into this, you figure out how to get out."
Zoe finally stopped and let the baby sit up and catch his breath. "Little brat." She laughed and then kissed him "You better be good around my mother."
"Yes please because she's going to be taking you for at least one night." Wade told him. Wyatt just looked at both of them and reached for his blanket. "Uh oh. Someone is tired."
"Maybe he'll fall asleep at dinner and we can just stick him with her and he won't notice." Zoe smiled
"Oooh I like your thinking Doctor Hart." He kissed her head.
"I'm gonna put his pajamas on." She winked and took Wyatt over to his dresser. "We're gonna put some pj's on and get all comfy so you can go right to sleep when we get home." Wyatt yawned and laid his head on her shoulder. "Or at dinner." She giggled pulling out some feetie pajamas. "You want snowmen or trucks?" she asked him
"Tuck" he mumbled
"Ok." She kissed his head and brought him over to the couch. She started changing him when her Mom came back in. Wade saw her but she shushed him and just watched Zoe and the baby. "Ok, all zipped up, I think we can pass on the shoes since someone refuses to walk." She covered Wyatt with his blanket and pulled it off with a giggle. "You all ready?"
"Yes" he said
"Yay, good boy. So smart." She lifted him up and kissed him
Candice watched her daughter, she seemed like a totally different person. She's never seen this side of Zoe and she loved it. "Maybe Bluebell was the right place for Zoe after all." She thought
Zoe stood up and looked at the door. "What?" she asked looking at Wade and Candice.
"Nothing." Wade smiled at her and held out his hand "You two ready?"
"Yes we are." She took his hand and smiled at Candice "You look weird." She laughed
"I'm just so proud of you." Candice smiled "Hi Wyatt."
"Hi" he smiled at her but pulled his blanket closer.
"Is he tired or still shy?" She asked
"No, he's tired, he didn't really nap this afternoon. We're hoping he falls asleep at dinner." Zoe told her as they started their walk to the Rammer Jammer.
"I'll take him." Candice winked
"Oh my gosh." Zoe rolled her eyes "We'll see."
"Hi guys." Wanda greeted as they walked in. "I think there is a table in the back open. We are crazy busy tonight."
"That's what I like to hear." Wade smiled at her "Am I needed?"
"Nope, we got this Boss." She winked at him "Hi Wyatt." She waved to the baby
"Hi" he waved back and picked his head off Zoe's shoulder. He waved to everyone as they made their way to the table and everyone smiled and waved back.
"Popular little guy." Candice smiled when they sat down.
"Yes. Everyone loves Wyatt." Zoe said putting him in the high chair and then giving him his sippy cup.
"Hi guys, Hi Wyatt. What can I get y'all to drink?"
"Hi Francesca, I'll have a beer and two glasses of white wine for the ladies." Wade smiled up at the waitress
"You got it boss. Bye baby." She ruffled Wyatt's hair as she walked away
"Bye" he waved and then yawned
They ordered their food a little while later and then just chatted.
"So business is well I see." Candice smiled looking around the bar
"Yeah it is, I'm proud of it." Wade smiled back
"And you Sweetie? The practice is doing well I presume?"
"Yep, people still get sick and I take care of them." She rolled her eyes
"Good, both of you have successful businesses." She smiled again and then looked over at Wyatt. "What do you have?"
"Cup." He smiled and showed her his cup
"He's so smart Wade."
"Yeah, he must have gotten that from his mother."
"Oh stop." Zoe laughed and put her hand on top of his. "He looks like his Daddy and he got his smarts from him as well."
Wade gave her a shy smile and then looked at Wyatt. "You going to eat dinner?" he asked him
Wyatt smiled at his Dad. "Yes" he mumbled while rubbing his eyes
"I think he's going to pass out." Candice smiled and patted his head.
Wyatt looked up at her and smiled "Hi"
"Hi Baby." She whispered
"Hi Dr. Hart, Wade, Wyatt." Dash said sitting at the table next to them "Mrs. Hart, it's nice to see you again."
"Hey Dash." Zoe smiled
"Das" Wyatt waved
"Little Wyatt, you have a new word every time I see you. And how is Bluebells favorite couple?"
"Oh please, we are not." Zoe shook her head
"Oh but you are, just read the poll results."
"Oh man, another poll?" she sighed
"Yep, 87% love Zade."
"What happened to the other 13%?" she asked
"I guess they still want you and Joel." Wade teased
She just rolled her eyes as their food came. Half way through their meal Wyatt's eyes were starting to close.
"Babe" Zoe pointed towards Wyatt.
"Yes, go to sleep Little Man." Wade smirked
10 minutes later Wyatt was out cold, his little head bobbing back and forth. Zoe carefully took him out of the high chair and laid him on her lap.
"You ready?" Wade asked
"Yeah, let's hit the road." Zoe whispered, getting up and readjusting Wyatt so his head was on her shoulder. She gently kissed his head and walked towards the exit. "Goodnight guys." She waved as she walked past Wanda and Chester.
They walked to the plantation and stopped at the pond.
"Do I get him?" Candice asked
"Yes" Wade answered pretty quickly
"Wade. If he wakes up he will freak out. We can't do that."
"He'll be fine, hand him over. He never wakes up during the night."
"True."
Wade set up his crib in record time and Zoe carefully laid him down. Wade had to practically push Zoe out the door.
"If he wakes up, come get us, he snores so don't be concerned with that. When he wakes up tomorrow just bring him on over, he usually has a banana and some juice and we don't have that here. Here are diapers and wipes and some crackers. A change of clothes should be in there as well as more pajamas."
"Get out" Candice laughed
Wade rolled his eyes with a smirk and dragged Zoe out the rest of the way. "Let's go, he'll be fine."
Once he finally got Zoe in the gatehouse she started opening every window.
"Uh, what are you doing? It's cold out."
"I need to be able to hear if he's crying."
"Oh my god, close those now."
"No Wade, he's still weird around new people and if he wakes up he's going to freak out…."
She couldn't finish her sentence because Wade's lips crashed against hers. He quickly backed her up towards the bed and fell onto the sheets, not breaking the kiss. Soon enough there was a pile of clothes next to the bed and it was getting bigger. That was until Zoe jumped back and pushed Wade off of her. He slumped back on the pillows and put his hands over his face.
"Are you serious?" he moaned
"You don't hear him?" she asked
"I do but your mom can handle it. You are not going to be one of those overprotective mothers. I won't be able to deal with that."
"I think he stopped." She said not even listening to what Wade was saying.
"Yes, he did." Wade said rolling back on top of Zoe and kissing her. "Now I am going to close those windows and you are going to forget all about him." He said and got up from the bed. After all the windows were closed he crawled back into bed.
"I'm sorry." Zoe said kissing him "I didn't think I'd be like this."
"I think he'll be our one and only child, I don't even want to know how you would be with a newborn."
"Stop" she smacked his chest "Let's get back to what we were doing." She winked and pulled him back towards her.
Around 2 am, Zoe had her head on Wade's chest and was just about to fall asleep when her phone buzzed.
"No" Wade moaned "Don't answer that, it can only lead to bad things."
She shook her head and stretched over him to grab her phone. "It's Mom."
"Exactly my point."
"He's been crying for an hour, we have to go get him."
"Won't he learn this way?"
"Wade he's a baby, he just wants his Daddy." She kissed his cheek
"No, he wants his Mama." He teased "Fine, where are our clothes?"
"Over there I guess, that pile." She sat up and Wade tossed her his shirt and she put on some shorts.
They could hear his cries as soon as they stepped out of Wade's house and they just got louder as they got closer. They made their way over to the carriage house and walked in. Wyatt heard the door open and his head snapped towards them.
"Mama" he cried from his crib and his hands shot up
"Told you" Wade whispered which resulted in a slap before she picked up Wyatt.
"Shh Baby, it's ok." She rubbed his back as he slowly calmed down and his breathing returned to normal. "What happened?" she asked Candice
"I'm not sure, he woke up earlier but I got him calmed and back to sleep but this time there was no soothing him. He wouldn't even let me pick him up, he bit me."
"I am so sorry." Wade apologized
"It's fine, nothing to worry about." She finally took notice to lack of clothes the two people in front of her were wearing and smiled. "I hope we didn't interrupt something."
"What? No, stop." Zoe yelled
Candice just smiled at her daughter and reached out, flattening Zoe's hair. "Sure"
"Stop it" Zoe slapped her away "Well get him out of here, sorry about this."
"It's fine."
"Say night Grandma." Wade smirked
"Gamma?" Wyatt questioned
"Yeah, Grandma." Wade pointed to Candice who couldn't help the giant smile on her face
"Gamma" Wyatt waved
"Goodnight Wyatt, night you two." She waved back as they left
"I think she liked that." Zoe smiled as they walked into the gatehouse.
"Yeah she did."
Wade took Wyatt from Zoe's arms walked towards his crib.
"Hi Da" he smiled
"Don't Hi Da me, you are trouble. You were supposed to be a good boy and sleep through the night so Zoe and I could have a nice night alone. Not wake up screaming and bite your grandma so we have to come get you."
"Dada" Wyatt hugged him
Wade smiled and hugged him back "I can't stay mad at you. But now it's time for bed."
"No" he said as Wade tried to put him in his crib "Mama" he pointed to Zoe.
"One, it's Doc or Zoe, two, no, bed time."
"Doc Woey" he laughed
Wade sighed "You are ridiculous. It's 2am go to sleep."
"No"
Wade put him in his crib and walked away. "It's 2 am why is he wide awake?"
"He fell asleep at like 5:30."
"So he's not going to sleep for the rest of the night?"
"I don't know, he might, but you wore me out so I'm going to bed." She winked and walked towards the bed. She didn't get far though, Wade wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her into him. "Hey" she giggled
"No way, you wanted him here, now he is your issue. You wished this on us."
"I did not" she turned around in his arms and wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling him down to her level, she kissed him "Maybe if we just walk away and turn the lights off he'll just go to sleep."
Wade laughed "Have you met my son?"
"Yeah" she rested her head on his chest. "He'll just start talking to us."
"And throwing things."
"Yeah. Fine, I'll get him to sleep."
"Up" Wyatt reached his arms out for Zoe when he saw her coming his way.
"Baby Boy, you need to go to sleep. Zoe is tired."
"Doc Woey" he laughed
"That is adorable." She lifted him out of the crib and carried him over to the couch. "Wade maybe a bottle?"
"Yeah, that might help, he didn't have it at dinner." He wandered towards his fridge
"Pacifier" Zoe said to herself. "Stand here, don't move." She told Wyatt and stood him next to the coffee table. She got up and walked back over to his crib and took out his pacifier and blanket. She turned around and let out a scream "Wade" she called
"What?" he rushed over to her and looked where she was pointing. Wyatt was walking right towards them. "Woah" he smiled and bend down to his sons level "Come on" he waved him on and Wyatt laughed as he continued to wobble towards Wade.
"Da" Wyatt said when he flung his arms at Wade and fell into his lap.
"That's my boy" he smiled and picked him up. "I didn't know we could do that."
"My baby" Zoe stole Wyatt out of Wade's arms and kissed him "You did so good. I'm so proud of you."
"He walks now." Wade smiled proudly "This should be interesting."
