The next morning Zoe rolled out of bed around 8. She heard Wyatt talking to himself threw the monitor and went to get him.
"Good morning Wy." She said walking into his room
Wyatt popped up in his crib and smiled at her "Hi Doc."
"Are you ready to see Aunt AB and Uncle Lavon today?" she asked as she took him out of his crib
"AB Von" he yelled and clapped his hands
"Yes, they're coming for breakfast in a little bit so let's get changed." She laid him on his changing table.
"I peed." He told her
"Oh did you? Thanks for telling me." She laughed "Maybe it's time you go on the potty like a big boy?"
"I big boy." He told her
"Almost." She kissed him putting him on the floor. "Now you need clothes."
"I do it." He said and ran to his dresser. He pulled out socks and jeans and a white t shirt. "I Daddy." He said pointing to his clothes.
Zoe couldn't help but laugh "Yes you are."
"Morning" Wade yawned from the door way.
"Hi Daddy." Wyatt waved trying to take off his pants but he fell to the ground. "Uh oh." He said
"Do you need help?" Zoe asked
"No, I do" he glared at her and kicked off his pants.
"Alright then." She turned to Wade "Morning."
He smiled at her "Stubborn this morning?"
"Independent." she corrected.
Once everyone was dressed and ready for the day Zoe started making breakfast.
"Oh crap, I have to call Mom." She said and reached for her phone.
"I call Gamma?" Wyatt asked running to her and reaching up for her phone.
Zoe laughed picking him up. "Ok, I'll video call her. We don't need her yelling again that she can't see her baby boy." She smiled and hit the FaceTime button on her phone.
"I hold." Wyatt held out his tiny hand for her phone.
"Don't drop it this time. Let's go sit. I don't know where Daddy went." She said sitting at the kitchen table.
"Daddy" Wyatt yelled as Candice popped up on the phone. "Oh Hi Gamma." He waved
"Hi my Baby, hi Zoe. How are you two this morning?" she asked
"Hi Mom. We're good. How are you? How's Neil?"
"We are both doing well, how's the house coming?"
"It's all unpacked just some painting and a couple bathrooms to remodel."
"That's great. How's my Wyatt?"
"I good Gamma."
"He's talking so much Zoe."
"Yeah he is, it's crazy."
"Did you call me?" Wade asked walking into the kitchen in his jeans and nothing else.
"Oh hey. Say hi to Mom." She laughed
Wade smirked and waved "Hi, how are you."
"I'm good, it's warm there I see." She joked
"Uh yeah. Didn't realize I would be on camera."
"Now that you are here though, Mom, we have something to tell you."
Candice smiled "Oh really?" she asked getting excited for what's to come. She could only think of a couple things that the three of them would have to tell her.
Zoe smiled up at Wade and put his hand on her shoulder "We got engaged." Zoe beamed telling her mother.
"Ahh" Candice screamed "Congratulations you three. That is so exciting, tell me everything. It's about time. When is the wedding?"
"Mom we got engaged like a day ago, let's not rush things here. But it was amazing and romantic and amazing."
"You said amazing." Candice smiled
"I know but it was."
"Well is there a ring?"
"Daddy ring." Wyatt clapped "Mama ring petty." He said
"Oh that is so adorable, I want to see."
Zoe held her hand up to the phone. "I know you can't really see much but I'll send you a picture."
"Well it looks gorgeous, good job Wade."
"Thanks Mrs. H. I'm going to finish getting dressed. Talk to you soon." He waved
"Bye. I am so happy for you Zoe, it really took long enough."
"Ugh Mom enough. We're in no rush."
Candice rolled her eyes "You're unbelievable. Neil and I can't wait to get married."
"Oh is that happening soon?" Zoe asked
"We're thinking around April in the Park."
"That sounds beautiful. I'm happy for you Mom."
"You three will be coming right?"
"Of course, I'm dying to bring them to New York. April would be perfect."
"Good. Listen I have another call coming in but I will call you tonight and I want all the details. Do not forget to send me a picture of that ring."
"Ok Love you Mom, say bye." She told Wyatt
"Bye Gamma." He waved and kissed the phone
"Bye you guys, love you too."
After that Zoe continued to prepare for breakfast with Lavon and AB. There was a knock on the door ten minutes later.
"AB" Wyatt ran to the door but couldn't reach the knob. "Open Daddy, open." He yelled at Wade.
"I'm coming." Wade laughed opening the door. "Welcome back." He smiled at the couple
"Hi y'all" AB smiled.
"Aunt AB, Uncle Von." Wyatt leaped into Lavon's arms and gave him a hug "Miss you."
"I missed you too Champ. Have you been good?"
"Yes." Wyatt smiled and reached for Annabeth. "Aunt AB." He squeezed her.
"Hi Buddy. I missed you."
"Miss you." He kissed her
"Come on in." Wade waved them in "How was the honeymoon?"
"Wonderful." Annabeth beamed
"Oh it was more than wonderful." Lavon winked
"Enough." Wade laughed
"Ahhh Lavon, AB." Zoe came running into the hallway. "I missed you guys so much." She hugged them both. "How was it?"
"Amazing, wonderful, awesome." Annabeth laughed
"I'm so glad."
"You guys were pretty busy these last two weeks huh?" Lavon asked looking around the house
"Yeah, there are only a few boxes left to unpack." Wade told them
"The house looks great." AB smiled at Zoe. "It fits you guys so…hold on, what is this?" Annabeth grabbed a hold of Zoe's hand. "This is new, where did it come from?" she asked with a smile
Zoe tried to contain the smile spreading on her lips but she couldn't "We got engaged the other night." She squealed
"Ahhhh" Annabeth squealed
Lavon smiled and slapped Wade on the back. "Congrats Bro. It's about time." He then pulled Zoe into a hug. "Congrats Big Z."
"Don't start planning another wedding." Zoe eyed Annabeth. "I know what you're thinking."
Annabeth hung her head "You two are killing me." She laughed "You need to tell Mama and Daddy to get married." She told Wyatt
"Mama Dada married" Wyatt copied her
"Thanks." Wade rolled his eyes. "Let's eat, I'm starving and I want to hear all about this honeymoon."
"All of the sudden?" Lavon asked with a grin
"Yep, get talking." Wade replied
After they ate AB and Zoe were in the kitchen cleaning up.
"So Lemon wants the three of us to go out for a girls night soon. You think you can leave your husband for an evening?" Zoe teased
"I don't know, it might be tough." Annabeth smirked "I'm just kidding, of course I can. We have to celebrate your engagement. Zoe that ring is gorgeous. He did such a great job picking that out."
"I know, I love it so much. The fact that he brought Wyatt with him to get it means so much to me as well."
"He seems so much bigger than two weeks ago. How does he like the house?"
"He loves it. He's constantly running around through every room, up and down the stairs. It's crazy. The back yard is a big hit too. We don't have to worry about hungry gators."
"Hey, Burt Reynolds would never eat the little guy." Lavon defended the gator from the other room.
"Burt" they heard Wyatt yell. "Chomp chomp" he laughed
"So when is this girls night?" AB asked
"Whenever the three of us are free. There is a new place out in Mobile I have been dying to try."
"The new cocktail bar? I'm there. I'm seeing Lemon later on, you busy Friday night?"
"Nope. Wade you have Wyatt Friday night." She called into the living room
"I have a date." He called back with a chuckle
"Yes, with a two year old. Enjoy. Smartass." She laughed shaking her head.
Annabeth laughed "Awesome, I'm so excited. I can't believe y'all are engaged. Ugh you are going to kill me with this waiting to plan a wedding crap."
"How's that baby making coming?" Zoe avoided the other topic
AB shook her head but smiled "It's fun." She giggled turning a bit red. "I hope we don't have any issues."
"Don't worry about it AB, you guys will be just fine. You'll have 19 little football playing babies before you know it."
"Oh no." AB laughed "That was crazy talk, I'm thinking 2 at most. Maybe 3." She chuckled
"That's cute, I can see that."
"What about you?"
"Um, I have one." Zoe answered with a smirk
"You need more than that."
"Yeah, when he's five and in school all the time. Do you know I spent two hours cleaning up this house and it was all his junk. I find cheerios everywhere. There was a handful in my medical bag and Wade found them in his boots. I found a juice box buried in that plant over there." Annabeth had a giant smile on her face as Zoe told her all of this. "What?"
"That sounds like fun. I can't wait to have everything in my life show me that I'm a Mom."
Zoe smiled "Yeah it is pretty great."
"Mama" Wyatt came running into the kitchen.
"What Baby?" she asked kneeling down to his level and straightening out his hair.
"I hungy. I have snack."
"You just ate a giant breakfast, you can't possibly be hungry again." she chuckled
Wyatt looked at her and then turned to Annabeth. "Aunt AB, I have snack?" he asked with a smirk
"Oh my gosh, I can't say no to that face." Annabeth gushed and picked up the toddler
Zoe stood up "Yes you can. Don't fall for that smirk."
Annabeth looked from Zoe to Wyatt a few times. She was about to put him down when he kissed her cheek. "Love you." He told her
"Aaah I can't. What do you want Buddy?" she asked as Zoe rolled her eyes but smiled at the scene in front of her.
"Berry" he pointed to the strawberries on the counter.
"Okey dokey." AB put him down and started cutting up a couple strawberries. "He's evil." She shook her head.
"Yes he is, he knows how to get what he wants." She handed Wyatt a bowl and he went to run away.
"Hey, get back here." Zoe yelled to him. "What do you say to Aunt AB?" she asked
"Tank you." He smiled and then looked at Zoe.
"You may go."
"Tank you Mama." He smiled and ran back into the living room
"I guarantee one of those strawberries will be lodged somewhere in my living room." Zoe laughed
"I'm sorry, I couldn't say no to that. I don't know how you do."
"It took a lot." She laughed "He has his Daddy's way of persuasion."
"Oh you've mastered the art of saying no to Wade?" she asked skeptically
Zoe smiled "Sometimes." She giggled
A couple hours later Zoe and Wade were just hanging around the house with Wyatt.
"Babe, I just called Jesse and invited them out for the weekend. Julie was super excited says she wants to run through some wedding stuff with you. Y'all enjoy that."
"Oh we will. Did they set a date yet?"
"I have no idea." He chuckled
"Did you tell them we were engaged?"
"Yeah, Julie squealed Jess says congrats."
Zoe smiled and walked up to him, wrapping her arms around his neck. "We're engaged."
He kissed her forehead "Yes we are. You sure you don't want to start planning?"
"Not yet. I want to enjoy this, get the house done and then we can figure it out. What's the rush?"
"I'm in no rush."
"Mama" Wyatt called from Zoe's "fancy" sitting room.
"What's he doing in there? We had the gate closed didn't we?" she asked in a panic and running towards the room.
"What's the point of a room if ya can't go in it?" Wade asked following behind her.
"Ah, how did you get in there?" she asked from the closed gate looking in at Wyatt who was standing on one of the couches. She opened the gate and ran in.
"I climb." He told her as she scooped him up.
"Oh boy." Wade chuckled
"Wade it's not funny! Wyatt, that's not good, you could get hurt."
"No, I climb." He told her again
Zoe grunted. "This room is a no for Wyatt."
"No Wyatt." He said
"Yeah Mama's crazy and this room is just to look at." Wade told the toddler
"Mama crazy" he laughed
Zoe slapped Wade. "Real nice, that's exactly what we need him saying."
Wade laughed "I didn't think he'd copy me."
"Have you met your son?" she shook her head. "Wy, go play with your toys and don't go in there again."
"Ok Mama" he said and ran off towards the living room and not five seconds later they heard a crash. "Uh oh. Oh Wyatt." They heard him laugh as the ran in there.
"And you want to plan a wedding around this?" Zoe laughed looking at the dumped over bucket of toys and Wyatt in the middle of it.
Wade just laughed and wrapped his arm around her and kissing her head. "I don't plan weddings, I just show up." He then quickly dodged the elbow that was headed towards his gut.
