"We're getting married tomorrow." Zoe squealed running into the kitchen the morning before the wedding.
Wade wrapped his arms around her. "I can't wait." He gave her a kiss. "Mrs. Kinsella." He smiled
"Not yet but its Dr. Kinsella to you." She gave him another quick peck and pulled out of his arms.
"Ya know, your mom came and got Wyatt an hour ago." He wiggled his eye brows at her.
"Wade." Zoe moaned trying to back away from him
"Yeah?" he growled following her until her back hit the counter. "Caught ya." He whispered and lifted her onto the counter.
"Wade" Zoe giggled. "We can't."
"Why?" he asked putting his arms on either side of her body, trapping her there.
"Because, we just can't." she said weakly trying to push him away.
Wade leaned down and started placing light kisses on her collar bone and up her neck. She sighed and wrapped her arms around his neck. "Wade, stop." She whispered
"Make me." He said in between kisses and finally capturing her lips with his.
Zoe broke the kiss and giggled. "I have to check on AB and make sure she's not overexerting herself."
Wade hung his head. "Fine, you may go to work."
"Thank you." She hopped off the counter and gave him a kiss. "I love you."
"I love you too. I'll see you later."
"I shouldn't be home late."
"And Wyatt won't be home at all." He said
"I'll be all yours." She winked
"Alright then, get to work so you can get home." He smacked her butt as she walked out of the kitchen. She turned around and smiled at him.
"Hi AB." Zoe smiled walking into the office
"Zoe Hart what are you doing here?" Lemon asked coming from the back
"Oh hey Lemon. How are you both?"
"Why are you here? You have no patients." AB said "Your hair is a mess though." She said pointing to her hair.
Zoe immediately started brushing down her hair and turned a slight shade of pink "I came to check up on you."
"I am fine. Go get ready for your wedding."
"It's tomorrow."
"Go get a mani pedi, a massage." Lemon suggested
"I have appointments for that in a couple hours."
"Well I am fine and I feel fine. So you go get ready to get married." She squealed
Zoe beamed. "I'm not nervous, is that weird?"
Annabeth and Lemon both smiled at her. "Probably, but you've been playing house for over a year now. Nothing is really going to change except your last name. You are changing that right?" Annabeth asked
"Yes, of course. We can finally be an official family."
"When can you start the adoption process? Lemon asked
"We started it already." Zoe beamed. "It should get approved a month or so after we are officially married."
"I'm so happy for y'all. Then you can start on the next one." Annabeth squealed
Zoe glared at her. "Let's get through your pregnancy first then worry about others."
"Oh please, I'm shocked you aren't pregnant already. Y'all can't keep your hands off each other." Lemon laughed "Obviously, judging by your appearance this morning."
"Whatever Lemon, there will be no baby making anytime soon." Zoe told her. "You sure you're ok?" she asked Annabeth
"Yes I feel fine, great actually. So go, relax and have a great day and get ready for tomorrow."
"Fine, I'll see you guys later." She turned and left the office.
"Hello?" Zoe called walking in the house later on that night. It was dark except for a low dimmed light in the dining room.
"Back here." Wade called to her
"What is all this?" she asked looking at the roses on the table, candles lit and a beautifully set table. "It smells amazing and looks even better."
"Just a little pre-wedding meal I whipped up."
"You're so cute." She wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him down to her, pressing her lips to his. "I love you, you're amazing."
He shrugged. "I try. Have you heard from your mom?" he asked pulling out her chair for her to sit
"I called her before I came home. Wyatt is running around the plantation looking for Burt." She laughed shaking her head. "But she says he's behaving."
"Of course he is." Wade laughed "They leave Sunday or Monday?"
"Sunday afternoon. We'll head to the airport together."
"Oh, great. But we're not going north." He smiled
"No sir, Barbados here we come."
"That will be a wonderful vacation. The views will be amazing."
"Yeah, I heard the sunset is beautiful."
"Yeah, the sunset, that's what I was talking about." He rolled his eyes with a smirk
Zoe laughed finally realizing what he meant. "You're crazy you know that."
"Only about you." He smiled at her.
Zoe couldn't stop the smile that spread across her face with that. They ate the rest of their dinner in a comfortable silence. Each thinking about the next day and the rest of their lives.
"Happy wedding day Doc." Wade kissed her awake the next morning.
"Mmm, morning." She rolled over towards him. "I love waking up to that."
"I love waking up to silence." He joked
"I miss him though."
"It's only been a night, what are you going to do on our honeymoon."
She gave him a seductive smile "Well Mr. Kinsella, I think you should be able to keep my mind off of things."
"Zoe Hart. Feeling a little frisky this morning? And after last night?" he winked leaning into her and capturing her lips with his.
"I could go for another round." She whispered in-between kisses and quickly ripped off Wade's shirt.
Her shirt was gone soon after and Wade was working on her pants when her phone started ringing.
"Ugh" she groaned
"Ignore it." He kissed her collar bone.
"It's Lemon." She wiggled out from under him and picked it up. "Hi" she said quickly
"Zoe Hart what are you doing? You have four hours until your wedding and you were supposed to be at the plantation twenty minutes ago. Do not make me come get you."
Zoe huffed "Fine, I'll be there in ten minutes." She looked over at Wade who was glaring at her. "Or longer. Bye Lemon." She threw her phone on the floor. "Where were we?" she asked
Wade just grunted and pulled her on top of him.
Zoe ran to the Plantation for hair and makeup and all around wedding preparations forty minutes later. Wade stayed back at the house and Jesse and Earl came over around mid-morning to get themselves ready. Neil was on Wyatt duty until about an hour before the wedding when Candice was going to get him dressed for the ceremony.
"What took you so long?" Lemon demanded as Zoe ran into the house
"Just, uh, over slept." She said nervously. "Forgot to set the alarm."
Annabeth looked at her. "You are a liar." She yelled "What's that?" she pointed to Zoe's neck
She looked in the mirror and her face fell. "Crap, nothing a little make up can't cover up." She smiled
"You two are unbelievable. The morning of your wedding. You weren't even supposed to see each other the last 24 hours."
Zoe rolled her eyes. "Whatever. Let's get ready."
The girls immediately started doing their hair and make-up.
"Zoe you look absolutely magnificent." Lemon smiled looking at her in the mirror
"Thank you." She smiled back at her
"Do I look fat?" Annabeth asked
Both Lemon and Zoe looked at her. "No, you look adorable." Zoe squealed eyeing her tiny but noticeable baby bump. Annabeth smirked.
"Lemon Breeland, what is this?" Annabeth yanked on Lemon's right hand.
"It's a ring, what does it look like?" she tried pulling her hand back but Annabeth kept a tight grip.
"That looks like an engagement ring." Zoe said taking a good look.
"No, no it doesn't. It's just a ring." She finally got her hand back.
"Lemon Tallulah Breeland. You cannot lie to us." Zoe said. "It is my wedding day, do not." She threatened
Lemon couldn't contain the smile any longer. "Fine, but you weren't supposed to see it."
"Aaaaahhh" the girls squealed
"When, how, where?" Annabeth asked excitedly
"No, it is Zoe's wedding day, not about me."
"No, I want to know. Tell us, tell us now." She demanded
"Alright, alright. It was at dinner last night out in Mobile. Georgie made reservations at my favorite French restaurant, bought me flowers then we took a walk around the park. Everything was all lit up and it was so romantic. He got down on his knee and just proposed. It was magical." She beamed
The girls squealed hearing about the proposal. "So romantic." Zoe smiled and hugged her. "Congratulations."
"Thank you. I really didn't want to tell you today. We were going to wait until you guys got back from the honeymoon."
"Don't worry about it. I'm so happy for you guys. Y'all are having a baby, I'm practically married and you're getting married."
"And we're all best friends." Annabeth pulled them both into a hug as she started to tear up. "I'm sorry, hormones." She giggled
"Wade Kinsella is finally getting married." Lavon slapped Wade on the shoulder "I really can't believe it."
Wade looked at him. "I've been a father for almost two years and living pretty much married to Zoe for that amount of time. What is changing exactly?" he asked
"Just the fact that you're officially settling down and getting married."
"Alright Lavon." He rolled his eye and buttoned the last button on his shirt. "How do I look?" he asked
"Oh Wade, you look so gorgeous, I just can't take my eyes off you." Jesse joked walking in the room
"Shut up." Wade shoved him
"Where's the little guy?" he asked
"Candice has him I think. I have too much to do before the wedding." He said opening up a beer.
"Oh yeah, you seem very busy." Jesse took a beer out of the fridge.
"I'm mentally preparing." He shrugged
Lavon laughed this time. "Yeah, ok."
Another hour went bye and it was officially wedding time. Wade was standing at the end of the tiny make shift aisle on the plantation under the old whippoorwill tree where the fuse box used to sit. Jesse stood to his left and Lavon was to his right, they decided he was the best person to marry them. Annabeth stood to Lavon's right while Wyatt, Neil, Candice, Rose, Brick, Lemon, George, Earl, Julie, Wanda and Tom sat on the folding chairs on either side of the aisle. Tom got up and walked a few feet and stopped, sitting down at a keyboard, he started playing the wedding march and everyone stood up and turned around. Zoe came out from the Carriage House a few seconds later and made her way towards her friends.
"Mama" Wyatt yelled and pointed at Zoe
"Shhh" Candice told him
"Wow" Wade breathed with a giant smiled. "Beautiful." He whispered and wiped his eye that was tearing just a little bit, not that he would admit that. Lavon smiled and put his hand on Wade's shoulder.
"You alright man?" he whispered
"She's amazing." He said back
Annabeth turned and smiled at Lavon who returned it with a wink. Zoe finally made it to the end of the aisle and smiled up at Wade.
"Hi" she whispered
"Hey" he smiled down at her.
Lavon smiled at them. "Ready?" he asked. They both nodded and he started the ceremony. He talked for a bit and then stopped and looked at Wade. "They have decided to recite their own vows."
Wade smiled "Zoe, trying to put what you mean to me into words took more time than I thought. You're the love of my life and I would be so lost without you. You've taught me so much in the last three years and helped me become a better man, a better father than I ever thought I could be. I love you and can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you, Wyatt and any other little monsters we create." He finished
Zoe let out a small chuckle and cleared her throat. "I love you." She whispered "You are the best thing that has ever happened to me, Wade. Without you I never would have become the doctor, person and even mother I am today. You're my best friend, my rock, my everything. I can't wait to see where life takes us and I know, no matter what life throws at us, we can handle anything. I love you so much."
There was not a dry eye on that plantation when they were done. Lavon had to wipe his own tears before he continued with the ceremony. They exchanged rings and then it was almost over.
"By the power invested in me by the state of Alabama, I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss your bride." He beamed at the couple.
Wade started to lean down towards Zoe but there was a thump and crash.
"Ow" Wyatt said and they both looked towards the small crowd and saw him on the ground with two of the flower arrangements tipped over.
"Oh Wyatt." They both said with a laugh as he got up and ran to them. Wade picked him up and shifted him to one side.
"Where were we?" he asked and then finally kissed Zoe
"Ewww." Wyatt squealed and threw his hands over his eyes. They laughed again when they separated and both gave him a kiss on the cheek.
"Give Mama a kiss." Wade whispered to him and he did.
Lavon smiled on watching the little family in front of him. "It is my pleasure to introduce to you, for the first time ever Mr. and Mrs. Wade Kinsella and Wyatt." He said
Wade took Zoe's hand and the three of them walked down the aisle passing their family and friends with the biggest smiles any of them have ever seen.
