Drake stirred and opened his eyes. He gave a grunt as he sat up and looked around the room. He realized that he was in the medical ward and buried his face in his hands. The last thing he remembered was Langdon towering over him with the .44 in his hands and pulling the trigger, only for it not to fire a round, but give a click. That lone click echoed in his head and mocked him after his failure to beat him in the battle they had in front of the rest of Task Force Hunter.

"Ah, so you're finally awake?" A voice asked.

Drake's head snapped to the left and his gaze fell on Amiko who was standing off to the side with her arms crossed. He scowled at the scantily dressed women and looked down at his hands. He heard Amiko give a cackle as she walked over to the chair beside the bed and turned it backwards before sitting in it. She leaned forward giving Drake an eyeful of cleavage in the process.

"What the hell are you doing here?" Drake sneered.

"Oh, don't be like that," Amiko replied giving a pout. "I just thought it would be nice to drop in and see how you were holding up."

"I may be new here, but even I can tell when someone is full of shit."

"With an attitude like that, you sure won't be making friends here anytime soon, cutie."

"I don't need friends and nor do I want any."

"What's the matter? Are you still butthurt from getting your ass handed to you by Langdon?"

It happened so fast that Amiko was a little surprised with Drake's speed. When those words left her lips, Drake had gripped her by the throat and began to squeeze. His eyes shifted in color and became purple with a red band around the pupil. He continued squeezing and was barely keeping his anger in check. He was still furious that Langdon had all but toyed with him and defeated him without so much as lifting a finger.

"Listen to me you pitiful excuse of a woman," Drake said in a low tone. "I don't appreciate you rubbing this in my face. Now it would be in your best interest to shut the hell up."

"And what are you going to do if I don't?" Amiko challenged.

"I think you're smart enough to interpret my words."

"If you are threatening me, Drake, you are doing a terrible job of instilling any fear into me."

"Shut-up!"

"Or what? What will you do to me, tough guy?"

Amiko wrapped her hands around Drake's wrist and pressed down, making his grip slacken from the pressure point. She pried Drake's hand from her throat and gave it a sharp twist. Drake gave a yelp of pain as his wrist snapped from Amiko's quick motion.

"You bitch!" Drake growled.

"You don't know the half of it, big boy," Amiko said as she pulled out her knife and slowly dragged it across her skin.

Drake watched as Amiko cut her arm open without flinching, allowing blood to ooze out and cover the blade in doing so. He knew that Amiko was an A-Gene user like him, but he was unaware of what type she was. His eyes locked with Amiko's and he felt a shiver go down his spine as he watched her drag her tongue across the fresh cut and lick it clean.

"You're not getting squeamish on me, are you?" Amiko asked flatly.

"I don't get squeamish. I've ripped people apart before, so what you are doing is nothing," Drake replied.

"From what Langdon has told me about you, you are afraid of your power. That you are supposedly afraid that if authorities find out about you that they will send you back to Unova, even though it was self-defense with your situation. Jesus Christ, you are an idiot."

"Why the hell would he trust you with anything? He said the only person out of all of us he would even consider sharing information with was Bill."

"I was within earshot of some of the things he said about you, but I have other means of getting my information."

"What would that be? Spreading your legs for the first guy that can be a pawn in your game of accomplishing something for you benefit?"

There was an uncomfortable silence after Drake's last comment. For a moment, Amiko did nothing, but that changed almost instantly. She brought her free hand back and chopped Drake's neck and he fell back to the bed, stiff as a board. She then gripped the bag of fluids that were dangling above his bed and gave a hard squeeze. Drake's body convulsed and he gave a cry of pain as Amiko continued to squeeze the bags. It only got worse as he felt the cold steel of Amiko's blade against his throat. He craned his neck to look at her, but only saw a look of fury on her face.

"For your information, this whore in front of you has done everything she had to do to survive in this godforsaken world." Amiko sneered as she pushed the blade further into Drake's neck. "I'm not a saint, but you're not one either."

"Fuck you!" Drake spat.

"You may see me as poison, but you don't have a clue how right that is."

"What are you getting at?"

Amiko let a sickening smirk spread across her face as she looked down at Drake and released the fluid bags. She leaned down until her face was mere centimeters away from his and let out a little giggle. She pushed the tip of the bloody knife into Drake's skin and his eye twitched in discomfort as it stabbed him.

"I'm a poison type, honey." Amiko smiled sweetly. "I have toxins flowing through me and I have ways of infecting others."

"What the hell did you just do?" Drake growled.

"The knife I just stabbed you with is covered with my blood. You can probably figure it out from here."

"You just poisoned me?"

"Look who's finally catching on!"

Amiko stood up and tucked her knife back in its holster before putting her hands on her hips and looking back at Drake. Drake's face was one of horror and rage as he looked at Amiko.

"In all honesty, the only reason why I'm in here is because Langdon told me to tell you to meet him in his office once you were released," Amiko said with a shrug.

"I'll kill you!" Drake shouted.

"Not if my poison kills you first, sweetie. But hey, if you manage to come out of this one, go see Langdon and then come find me. I could use a new sparring partner."

With that, Amiko turned on her heel and walked around the curtain and out of sight with a slight sway in her hips. Drake opened his mouth to call out to Amiko but he let out a loud cry of pain as he felt his body burning from the inside. The stabbing pain in his stomach and the searing sensation he felt all over his body made tears of pain well up in his eyes. He gave another scream of agony as he writhed in the bed.

"Somebody help me!" Drake hollered. "Make it stop!"

The pain was becoming so unbearable for Drake that he was almost wishing for death as the poison continued its assault on his body. He coughed and felt the metallic taste of blood as it splattered on the front of his shirt. Not being able to take the pain anymore, Drake did the only thing he could and gave one last scream of pain before he blacked out.

David woke up feeling groggy from the late night of drinking he did with Yuri. Not being able to fall back asleep, he decided to crawl out of bed and take a shower. His feet made light thumps as he trudged down the hall and to the large bathroom that mimicked the showers seen in a college dorm. He stopped outside the door as he heard the shower running. Given that these were the only showers in the building and everyone was still asleep, he was curious about who was showering. He knocked on the door to get a response.

"Who the hell is it?" Rein's voice answered.

"It's David," David replied. "I was seeing who was in the bath since this is the only one and I didn't want to barge in."

"Well, fine. If you want to take a shower you can, there's an open one beside mine."

"You're cool with that?"

"Look, let's be real here. We both don't have anything the other hasn't seen already."

David smirked and shook his head before entering the bathroom. The steam that built up inside fogged the mirror and window. Dave undressed and set his clothes beside Rein's before stepping into the other stall and turning faucet. The ice-cold water met him and he gave a sharp intake of breath.

"I had the same reaction," Rein said from her stall. "Holy crap, that water was cold enough to make my nipples cut glass."

"Thanks for that mental image," David replied.

"You're welcome. I aim to please."

David smirked as he continued to scrub his hair. He hadn't known Rein for long, but from all of their interactions, she acted a lot like his younger sister did when they were kids. The thought of his sister made him frown as he remembered what happened to her and the rest his family. During his junior year in high school he ended up having a late night visit from the police who had come from the scene of a bad car accident to tell him that his parents and sister were the victims of the wreck. They were coming back from Madison that night and were struck by a drunk driver who escaped the wreck unscathed. From that point on, David had been alone and ended up becoming a man a lot earlier than most kids. He would still frequent the cemetery from time to time to visit his family's grave, but that last time he did that was almost a year ago. Before they left for Texas, David wanted to borrow one of the cars to visit the grave one last time before leaving.

David sighed as he turned the water off and stepped out of the shower, wrapping the towel around his midsection. He walked to the sinks and wiped the steam from the mirrors to determine if he needed to shave. The water from Rein's shower stopped and he heard the door to it open. Her feet made soft splashes in the puddles that accumulated on the floor from the showers. She came around the corner naked as the day she was born. David's eyes widened in surprise and he quickly turned his gaze to the side.

"Jesus, Rein, cover yourself up," David said as he crossed his arms.

"Why would I want to cover up a rockin' body like this?" Rein replied with a smirk as she gestured to her body. "You can't lie to me, you know I look good!"

"It's one thing to be confident in yourself, but for the love of god, make yourself decent. I don't need you exposing yourself to me."

"Buzzkill."

David kept his eyes closed as he heard Rein step beside him and pick up the towel that was on the sink. His eyes slowly opened after he Rein stopped fidgeting around and he saw her finally covered with the red towel. He could see Rein's red eyes bearing into him as she let a playful look come to her face.

"Thank you," David said as he turned back to the mirror.

"I saw you looking at me, cutie," Rein said as she took a step forward. "Admit it, you think I'm hot."

"No I don't!"

Rein's brow furrowed at David's quick denial and folded her arms. She puffed out her cheeks in a pout and turned away.

"Hmm, I guess you play for the other team then, huh?" Rein teased.

"Didn't your parents ever teach you any fucking manners?" David snapped.

The moment the words left David's mouth, Rein's eyes widened briefly before she looked down at the ground as if remembering something from long ago. David glanced at Rein and was quickly surprised with her change of demeanor. Within seconds of him saying that, Rein's mood went from playful flirting to one of sadness. She became very quiet and even though he did not know Rein all that well, he knew that this was not the way she usually acted. It was there that David realized he touched down on a sensitive topic and he felt guilty.

"I wouldn't know about parents or manners because I don't have any!" Rein sneered as she leaned against the shower stall.

"Don't be stupid," David replied. "Of course you have parents."

"Oh, yeah? Then let me ask you this. What kind of parents abandon their child at the age of eight to fend and depend on herself?"

A chill went down David's spine. Rein was abandoned by her parents? As David thought about it, it made some sense because of her behavior, but there were also kids who acted badly even if they had parents. He could not help but wonder what caused Rein's parents to abandon her, but he was sure he was going to find out.

"Why would your parents abandon you?" David asked.

"Look at my eyes and tell me what you see," Rein replied as she looked up.

David did as she asked and stared into her dark red eyes. As he looked in Rein's eyes, he could almost see the past behind them. They were filled with loneliness and hardship, but they also held power and the will to strive on. He had been under the impression that Rein's eyes became like that after the A-Gene activated inside of her, but from what she said, it sounded as if that was not the case.

"Red eyes?" David replied.

"No shit, Sherlock," Rein replied with an eye roll. "Yes, it was because of my eyes. I was born with them."

"How's that possible? I can see if from the A-Gene being awakened, but it is impossible for a red eye pigment unless there was some sort of severe genetic mutation."

"Again, no shit. How do you think the fucking doctors felt when they saw it and explained it to my parents?"

"I don't know. I'm guessing it was very awkward."

Rein sighed and shook her head before she looked back at the ground. She fell silent again, but David could tell the story was far from over.

"My parents were terrified of me because of these damn eyes," Rein spoke as she began to shake. "As I got older, they began to isolate themselves from me because they thought I was a freak, maybe even a demon!"

"Rein, I don't see how they could think that. You were there daughter, yet you had to have acted in a way to show you were far from a demon or freak," David replied.

"Don't defend them!"

"I'm not, I am just finding it hard to believe your parents would…"

"Why the fuck would I make this up, huh?"

Rein's eyes began to shimmer as tears started to well up inside of them. Her body was shaking a lot more now. David had never seen Rein look so vulnerable before.

"How the hell do you think I felt when I woke up one morning to find my parents packed up their crap and left in the middle of the night?" Rein asked.

"I'd be upset too," David began to reply, but he was cut off as Rein continued.

"Of course you'd be upset, who wouldn't be?"

Rein rubbed her eyes to stop her tears before they fell. She was a tough girl, she would not cry over this. She was not exactly sure why she was even opening up about this, but she could not stop her rant. It was as if her mind and body was telling her she needed to do this.

"I had to learn fast in order to survive on my own," Rein continued. "I did everything I could to survive. I pickpocketed money, I stole food and water when I could so I could avoid dumpster diving for scraps that would leave me sick beyond belief!"

"Rein," David said to try and calm her down, but it did not work.

"I lived like that for almost a whole year until one night when I passed out in a park because I was so weak from having nothing to eat and I was praying that I would die that night!"

David decided to be quiet and let Rein continue her story. This was something she had held in for a long time and now that it was coming out, there was nothing he could do to stop it. All he could do was listen to Rein and try to comfort her in any way he could.

"Imagine my surprise when I woke up a few days later in a mansion and cursing god that I did not die," Rein said with a scoff, but a small smile came to her face. "I guess it was a blessing in disguise because I ended up meeting the nicest girl. She brought me to her house and let me live there as if I was her own sister."

"What was her name?" David asked.

"Her name was Veniza. She welcomed me into her home and I stayed there for years until it all went wrong."

"What all went wrong?"

"Ven and I were walking back to her mansion one night and we ended up getting cornered by this gang I was hostile with because I stole from them to stay alive."

David had an idea of where this was going, but remained quiet as he let the dark haired girl continue.

"I ended up getting in a fight with them, but this was nothing new because I became accustomed to it after fighting in the streets to stay alive. I ended up getting too into the fight and when that happened, one guy broke from the fight and took Ven hostage," Rein continued, her voice cracking a bit as tears started to well up in her eyes again.

"Rein," David began.

"I heard Ven scream and then there was a gunshot. The next thing I saw was Ven lying on the ground with a bullet in her head."

Rein began to tremble once again as a sob tore through her. She could no longer hold her tears back as they began to trickle down her face.

"I was responsible for the death of my best friend because of the shit I did to survive. Do you know how fucked up that is?" Rein sobbed.

Rein continued to tell the story after wiping some tears from her eyes. She told David that when the man who shot Ven came to her while she was being pinned down and pointed the gun at her, she was ready to die again. When the gunman was about to pull the trigger, the group was attacked by a Mightyena, who eventually became Rein's partner, Fenrir. Fenrir attacked the group to save Rein and when that happened, Rein said she felt some weird power fill her body which ended up being the power of the A-Gene awakening.

In her thirst for blood, Rein's powers went crazy in reaction to her emotions of anguish and rage. Shadows rose from the ground and latched themselves onto the gang members, ripping them to shreds and pulling them into the ground, never to be seen from again. By the time it was over, the alley that they were in was stained crimson. Rein and Fenrir reeked with blood as they looked at whatever remained of their carnage.

"I stayed in that alley for almost three hours just holding Ven's body in my bloody hands and crying," Rein said as tears continued to run down her cheeks. "It was there that I decided to leave Vermillion City like I should have when my parents left me to die."

"Rein, you can't blame yourself for what happened to Ven," David replied.

"Easy for you to say! You have no idea what it feels like to lose someone you love! You don't know what it's like to feel responsible for the death of your friend!"

"I do know what that feels like! I lost my parents and my sister when I was a junior in high school because of a drunk driver. And I do know what it's like to be responsible for the death of a friend!"

"How would you know what it feels like to feel responsible for the death of a friend?"

David was silent for a few seconds before he replied to Rein's retort.

"Because I accidentally got my fire team killed when I was on my first tour," David replied. "We were on a patrol outside of Kandahar and we were ambushed by a small group of Taliban insurgents. They had us pinned from the high ground and I tried to lead them on a flank when our main element had them suppressed. I ended up leading them by a hidden IED and it detonated. It didn't fully detonate, but it exploded enough to bang me up and kill three of my good friends."

David finally looked back up at Rein after telling his story to see her wiping her eyes free from more tears, but more kept coming.

"I'm sorry," Rein said.

"It's all right, you didn't know," David replied as he got off the wall.

"It wasn't long after that incident with Ven before I started getting hunted down by those dickhead government agents. I managed to escape and evade them for almost a year before they got me and that led me up to here."

Rein let out another sob as her trembling continued. She could not understand why she was still crying. She let everything out, so why was she still hurting? She cursed inwardly as she wished the tears would stop.

"All I ever wanted in my life was someone to be by my side," Rein said as more tears streamed down her face. "I don't want to be lonely anymore!"

Rein finally felt as though a heavy weight had been lifted from her shoulder. She confessed everything that had built up and screamed for release and it felt wonderful. Her hands wiped away more tears as they continued to come.

"Damn-it, I can't stop crying!" Rein said through grit teeth.

It was there that David finally made his move. He walked over to Rein and put his hands on her shoulders. She stopped trembling in after he did that and slowly looked up into his eyes. David took his thumb and gently brushed Rein's tears from her face and gave her a smile.

"You're not alone," David said. "You have me, Black, Michka, Dean, Katherine and Roland."

Rein had fresh tears trickle down her face again as she let a genuine smile come to her face. Her cheeks reddened as she looked up and saw David get closer. She felt his lips touch her forehead and her tears continued to fall. Rein rested her head on David's chest and hugged him.

"Thank you," Rein said with a sob.

"Don't worry about it. That's what family does." David smiled as he returned Rein's hug.

David was about to release Rein, but found he was unable to do so. Rein looked up at him with a somewhat embarrassed look.

"David, can we just sit in here for a bit?" Rein asked. "I don't want anyone to see me crying. They'll make fun of me."

David chuckled and nodded as he slowly sat back against the wall. Rein sat beside him and leaned on his shoulder as she hugged him. He wrapped and arm around Rein's back and brought her in close and sat in silence as he let Rein continue to cry on his shoulder.

"One more thing," Rein said.

"What's that?" David replied.

"If you tell anyone I cried, I'll rip your balls off and feed them to Fenrir."

David laughed as Rein said that. That was the Rein he was familiar with and that was the one he wanted to see.

Reelah awoke to a splitting headache and nausea. She raised her arm to shield her eyes from the bright light that shone overhead in the room. The last thing that she remembered was fighting another soldier that had been infused with the A-Gene, but the fight did not last long. Since she could only use her powers when her Pokémon was with her, Langdon allowed her to use Torterra, but he made sure that Torterra only had enough energy to fight.

Reelah had put up a decent fight against the soldier that was infused with the A-Gene, but she was sickened with what happened. The soldier that was infused with the A-Gene was a Fire-type which made her go on the defensive. While she barely did any damage to the soldier, she did not kill him because the A-Gene reacted against him. Reelah could only watch as the soldier screamed in agony and spontaneously combusted from the inside out. She passed out shortly after the fight from lack of energy and nutrition.

She gave a painful groan as her head throbbed and she gagged as she vomited out whatever was left in her stomach.

"I can't do this anymore," Reelah said to herself. "I need to get out of here!"

"You're not going to get out of here," a voice said.

"Who are you to say that? Show yourself!"

"I'm telling you this because I have tried. I know what you are and I am just like you."

"Quite beating around the freaking bush and tell me who you are!"

Reelah turned her gaze behind her to see the room she was in was very different from last time. She was no longer in a cell with bars, but instead in a large, dark room that only had one light illuminating it. Each chamber was separated from think glass, but there was a voice box connecting each cell and to the walkway. The footsteps stopped and after fighting through her throbbing headache, Reelah was able to see the figure she had been talking to.

The man appeared to be in his mid-forties, but he was tall and had a strong build, most likely from training to survive fights on soldiers who volunteered to be injected with the A-Gene. His short, brown hair had hints of grey in it and his hazel eyes were calm, but held immense power.

"I am George Hatfield," the man replied.

"Wait, then that means you're…" Reelah said as she realized who she was talking to.

"That's right. I'm the first hybrid."

Well, that's the chapter. Very deep and heavy with Rein's character and we see that Reelah meets the first known hybrid, George Hatfield. I still need bad guys, so send them in! Look below for story shout outs and the OC number changes for the categories.-Captain

"Time of Courage" by my good friend FiammaJoule: This story is becoming one of the new stories that contain people with Pokemon powers/souls. It's extremely interesting and the first chapter alone was enough to get my attention and I'm sure it will be of interest to a lot of you readers as well. The story revolves around a group of people known as S-Types that have the abilities of Pokemon and are being hunted down by the government. Michka Morre is the protagonist and it'll be great to watch her progress and grow to help lead the resistance against the government. (Recently Updated on 6/10/13)

Note: I had someone ask in the reviews about Fairy-type hybrids. My answer is hell no. I will not bring in Fairy-types.
