Once Casey's bed sheets had been changed Heath helped the youngest Braxton back into bed. "How's that far ya squirt?" Heath asked sitting on a chair next to the bed, lifting his legs up and resting them on the edge of the bed. "Awesome" Casey said propped up in a sitting position with a pillow. Heath picked up one of his old magazines showing Casey some on the pictures in them. Brax slipped out to speak to Dr. Walker before leaving his baby brother for the night.

"Dr. Walker?" Brax said walking up to the doctor, "I was just wandering if we could have a quick catch up about the next week of treatment and stuff so I can plan my work around it?"

"Of course Brax, lets just slip into here" He said gesturing to a free room. Brax sat on the edge of one of the chairs leaning forward ready to listen. "Right. I'm going to go ahead, with your permission of course, and suggest it is essential to get a g tube fitted to help with his feeding a nutrients. If all is okay with you I'd like to schedule that as soon as possible as it will be hindering his bodies natural ability to heal and he is getting dangerously weak…" Dr. Walker explained.

"Right, and when would be the earliest this procedure could be done?" Brax asked trying to keep up with all the information that was being told to him. "Well if all is okay with you, it is only a short procedure so I'd like to schedule an emergency procedure for tomorrow just after lunch." Brax nodded, he knew it would be tight with having to deal with his father and the possible jobs he had lined up for him and Heath but he was keen to go ahead with any kind of treatment as soon as possible because each step meant they were closer to being out of this nightmare. "Yep, thats good with me" Brax nodded, "And what will be the rest of the plan this week?" He asked.

"Well, this type of surgery, although not major or complicated, will take a couple of days for Casey to get over." Dr. Walker explained, "So we have planned for two days of no treatments, and his last bloods showed his count was still too low so we would not have been doing any chemo in the next couple of days anyway. After his recovery we will begin chemo again and the scans should have come back so we will be in a better position to assess our next move in beating this" Dr. Walker explained.

"Right" Brax sighed running his hand down his face, exhausted, it was a lot to take in, "And when do you think Casey will be strong enough to come back home in-between treatments?" Brax asked. Dr. Walker sighed looking over his notes, "Its hard to say, which I understand can be ever so frustrating for everyone. All I'm going to say is we will reassess the situation in a weeks time and check how he his and if his bloods are okay and he has no sign of infection and you and him are confident with the g tube and how to administer various medications. Then hopefully in-between his treatments he will be able to go home with you, although I must warn you, due to the intensity and complications we have had recently I am planning on a higher dosage of medications and he will most definitely, as we have discussed previously, be highly dependant on a wheelchair." Brax nodded, "Right, thanks" Brax said standing up and shaking the doctors hand, "If I'm not back in time for the procedure go ahead and I will be there for when he wakes up" Brax said, just incase the meeting with Danny over ran. "That is fine on our end all we need is your permission but if I were you I'd make sure you have discussed this with Casey" Dr. Walker said. Brax nodded before walking out of the room and back into Casey's.

Heath was still showing Casey the surfing magazines whilst Casey was now lying down listening and watching quietly, exhausted but content. "You alright there big fella" Heath said, looking up as Brax walked in. "Yeah fine mate," Brax replied walking over to Casey's bed. He sat down gently on the edge of the bed running his hand reassuringly across his head where his hair once was. "How are you feeling Case" Braz asked quietly.

Casey gave a small smile, "Happy" he replied with a big yawn, "This has been the best day in a long time" he said quietly closing his eyes.

"Good" Brax said pulling Casey's blankets up to his baby brothers chin, "Hay mate" Brax said softly causing Casey to open his eyes again slowly, "I just need to talk to you about something before you fall asleep and we leave" He explained. Casey nodded, signalling that he was listening but just too tired to answer. "Dr. Waker and I have discussed the options for helping you with getting the nutrients you need from food and drink. And because you cant keep much down and dont have much of an appetite we have decided its best to insert something into your stomach to help give you the things your body needs. To do this it is going to involve a very small and simple procedure" Brax continued to explain. Casey gave a small nod every now and again, showing that he was listening, "Dr. Walker has scheduled it for tomorrow, but only if that is okay for you?"

Casey nodded slowly, "Yeah thats cool" He said quietly, he was to exhausted to say otherwise and it was just another thing he was going to have to accept and deal with so there was no point fighting it. He knew in the long run it would hopefully help him get better. He was just getting fed up of all these different procedures and treatments the doctors were putting his body through with no apparent improvements. "Okay good. Only one more thing, I have a lot of extra work Ive had to take up and tomorrow is a busy day. I'm 90% sure I will be there in time to see you tomorrow before surgery and check you will be okay but I cant make any promises" Brax explained, Casey looked up at him trying to disguise the disappointment, he wasn't sure he would be brave enough to get through it with out his big brother but he understood the reason Brax had to work extra hard was his fault. "But I promise I will be there when you wake up, okay?" Brax finished, giving Casey's shoulder a reassuring squeeze. Casey shrugged, "Yeah thats cool, I'll be fine… Its only a small and simple procedure" Casey said, copying what Brax had said.

"Thats right mate," Brax said softly, "Now you get some sleep you look exhausted and we will see you tomorrow".

"See ya squirt" Heath said as he followed Brax out of the room. Casey sighed, confused about how to feel, it had been a great day but he couldn't help the disappointment he felt at the fact Brax said he may not be there to see him before his surgery. He didn't have much time to dwell on that though as he quickly drifted off into a restless sleep.
