Hi there! I'm wearing my very own strawhat while writing this!

Scout: Why?

Inspiration!

Thanks to pizzastar123 for reviewing, and PirateDragons121 for following! You guys are great!

SEVEN YEARS LATER

A much older(By older I mean 15) Dahl D. Scout was skipping merrily down a deserted town called Syrup Village, singing a little tune.

"One step far, off to the hillside!

Gonna find something fun to do,

One step back, out to the outside!

It would be much more fun with you!"

A large mansion that looked like it was once a grand piece if architecture, in a thousand piece on the ground...

"One step through, into the unknown!

Drink some sake and whiskey too,

One step out, what lies ahead?

It would be much more fun with you,"

A tattered homemade flag next to a pile of wood.

"One step behind, how much left?

My impatience has already grew,

One step now, back to the hillside!

It was a lot more fun with you!"

At the end to the song, she hoisted herself onto the pile of rotted wood. She dangled her legs off the side and looked down the cliff below.

"Ahhhh, what a wonderful day!"

Suddenly, the flag fell. The flimsy stick that was holding it upright snapped in two. Scout noticed and hopped off, then picked it up.

"A pirate flag?"

She took some string out of her bright orange satchel and tied the two piece back together. When finished, she patted it for good measure.

"There ya go!"

"HOLD IT RIGHT THERE MISSY!"

Scout turned slowly with a confused look on her face.

"Eh?"

The man in front of her was extremely skinny, which was even more noticeable with the fact that he was shirtless. He was tall and quite young looking, though he seemed 20-ish, and he had hair that looked like a green pepper...actually...exactly like a pepper. He was pointing a broken, wooden play-sword at her.

"WHAT MEANS DO YOU HAVE FOR TOUCHING MY FLAG?!"

Scout raised her eyebrows.

"I was fixing it..." She patted it happily. "It fell over!"

The pepper-haired man lowered his play-sword and looked at her sadly.

"Would you...would you by any chance happen to have some food?"

Scout stopped. She pulled out a loaf of bread from her satchel and tossed it to him. He caught it uneasily. Scout sat cross-legged on the grass and let out an obnoxious sigh.

"I'm so bored...Can you entertain me Pepper-Head?"

"A-actually my name IS Pepper..." He said cautiously.

Scout laughed.

"Ha ha ha That's such a weird name! Ha ha ha!"

Pepper made an irritated face.

"Oh yeah? What's your name?"

Scout was sleeping with a giant bubble protruding from her face. Pepper hit her comically.

"OI! WAKE UP YOU IDIOT!"

Scout woke up rubbing her head. "Ouch...WHAT WAS THAT FOR!?"

"YOU WERE SLEEPING!"

"YOU DIDN'T HAVE TO HIT ME!"

Just then, a rustle appeared from the bushes behind them. Pepper became wary.

"Girl, I need to head off now..."

"Why? You just got here!"

An extremely tall man with a mad look in his eyes and shaved purple hair jumped out of the bushes and charged at Pepper. Pepper seemed scared.

"NO! CARROT! GET THE HELL AWAY FROM ME!"

The man (apparently named Carrot) was biting into Pepper's arm. His arm started bleeding heavily, and Pepper started yelling at him to stop. Scout was watching the whole thing unfazed.

"Oi, Pepper-Head."

Scout took out a beautiful golden pistol and tossed it to him. Pepper caught it, shoved Carrot off of him, and pointed it straight at his heart. Carrot licked the blood off his lips and growled. Pepper closed his eyes shut and pulled the trigger; sending him sprawling onto his butt, and causing smoke to form.

Once the smoke cleared, Scout noticed Pepper leaning over a life-less Carrot, sobbing. She walked over and grabbed Pepper by the hair, and threw him off. Pepper looked up at her frightened.

"Why are you crying over him?" She asked tortly. Pepper glanced at the man, before holding his hands in his head.

"W-we were Nakama..." He choked. "We were the Usopp Pirates...Our captain left us so long ago, and I became the new captain..." Pepper took out a muddy and torn piece of paper that looked like a treaty.

"Then things went to hell...The Second Pirate King was executed, and the World government ransacked our town. We had no food, and Carrot went insane and killed Onion..." He was sobbing uncontrollably now. Scout slowly walked over and smacked Pepper in the face. Pepper stared at her shocked.

"Don't think YOU'RE so special, Pepper-Head. I've heard much worse stories from other people who are stronger than you..." Scout picked up a pebble and threw it off the cliff into the water below. "So your fake-pirate-crew's gone...Deal with it..."

Pepper thought about these words for a moment, then stood up. He wiped the blood off his arm.

"So...there's nothing we can do to stop this awfulness?"

Scout grinned hugely.

"There is one thing!"

She pulled out a wanted poster from her satchel. She tossed it to Pepper, who then read it. A picture of a mischievous-looking woman with short black hair was printed on it.

"That's Nico Robin...The leader of the Revolutionary's at this moment. And this..." She tossed another poster, this time with a young, happy looking man with a long scar. "Is Yered D. Shiloh, her assistant."

Pepper looked at them both quizzically.

"Why are you showing me these?"

Scout started laughing.

"These are the people you'll have to thank when this horrible era is over." Scout saluted. "And one day I'm going to work for them!"

After about a couple hours Scout boarded her tiny boat. Pepper walked over to it, timidly.

"Scout..."

"Hmm?"

Pepper's eyes started watering, then he preformed the revolutionary's salute.

"ONE DAY I SHALL BECOME A REVOLUTIONARY! AND WHEN I DO...THOSE TYRANTS WILL NEVER WANT TO SET FOOT ON LAND AGAIN!"

Scout pushed off the beach and waved,

"WELL SAID!"

And now, with Scout leaving Syrup village, and heading toward a small island called Hesperos, is where her adventure will truly begin...

Holy crud...I'm beat... I got it done in time though!

I'll get the next one out soon, but I have responsibilities too!
