A:/N: Huge apologies for the delay. Midterms suck. T_T
But now that they are over, I can get back to revamping this story. Enjoy!
Later that day, Sully was walking with Morgan around the barracks, planning out their weekend together. The vast amount of weapons around always put a smile on Sully's face, but it made Morgan a little uneasy.
"Come on, is this all you have?" asked Morgan. "No books, no times, anything that's not a long, shiny blade?"
"Is there anything you like that DOESN'T involve magic?" asked Sully.
"Planning. Dad's a tactician, after all." said Morgan.
"Can you even use a sword?"
Morgan pulled out the Levin Sword she acquired as a spoil of war from the last battle with Grima, relatively clean from it's relative lack of use.
"Well, I do have this one." she said.
"And I'm guessing it only casts magic? Can you actually whack things with it?" asked Sully.
"Well...I COULD, but I prefer to take my father's advice and use it what it's for. I find it better that way. Smashing things with it doesn't seem right." explained Morgan.
Sully looked at Morgan in mild disappointment.
"All right, daughter of Robin. Give me a second."
Sully walked over to a cabinet on the far side and pulled out a silver sword. It looked new, if dusty since it had been there for quite some time, and walked back to the curious Morgan, handing it to her.
"Here's one of many spoils I keep around. For what remains of today, you learn to use it." said Sully.
Morgan looked at her with a rather nervous expression.
"Oh boy." she thought to herself.
Meanwhile, on the outskirts of Ylisstol, Robin and Lucina were pondering what to do on their weekend. They had all the time to themselves. For once, without being unintentionally judged by Chrom's awkwardness, complete freedom.
"What do you want to see, Lucina?" asked Robin.
"I...don't know, to be honest. I just want some peace and quiet, you know? Just some place to relax, maybe do...normal activities?"
"Like what, a feast?" asked Robin.
"Maybe. But since nothing's happening in Ylisstol...wait, what is that?" said Lucina.
Lucina had turned her attention to a large rock formation with controlled magic in it's interior. It looked otherworldly.
"Is that a portal?" asked Robin.
"It certainly looks the part," said Lucina. "But where does it go?"
"Many places." said a far off voice.
Both turned to see Anna coming from behind them, in her usual merchant attire.
"Anna. Didn't expect you around here." said Robin.
"Tee-hee! I'm the one in charge of this gate here. You lovebirds want to go somewhere?" said Anna.
Robin and Lucina stared at each other.
"Like what places can we be taken that AREN'T battle grounds?" asked Lucina, turning to face her.
"Ah, peaceful, is it? Let's see here..." she said, pulling a book out.
"Peaceful...peaceful...ah, here's one! The Hot Spring Realm!"
"Hot Spring Realm?" asked Lucina, confused. "What is that?"
"It's a place in a different realm not too far from here where couples go to relax. You two would be perfectly welcome there!" said Anna, excited.
Lucina turned to Robin.
"I like this idea!" she said, a smile on her face.
"Then we'll go there, maybe save the best for last. Anything we need, Anna?"
"Nothing other than your happiness and enjoyment!" said Anna. "I usually charge for people to enter this gate, but you get the "save the world and come back from the dead" discount. So go on in!"
Robin looked on happily as he and Lucina walked to the gate, ready for some true R&R.
Nighttime fell in Ylisstol, and Morgan was seated with Sully at the dinner table. Both were enjoying some supper...one with less manners than the other.
"Morgan! Didn't Robin educate you in your table etiquette?" yelled Sully.
Morgan, who was eating cooked meat, turned to Sully, confused.
"What? I can't eat like Dad does?" she asked, mouth full.
Sully looked on with slight disgust.
"Well, fine. But tonight only. Next two days, you eat MY way."
"Sure." said Morgan, still chowing down.
Sully let out a sigh as they finished their meals. This was clearly set up to be an interesting weekend...
After the war, Morgan enjoyed the luxury of oversleeping. The times when she could rest in her bed until noon and not be called out on it.
Not with Sully, she wasn't.
Sleeping soundly in bed that night, Morgan had no idea of the hell Sully was about to put her through.
"…up."
Morgan struggled a bit. Her sleep was being interrupted.
"...get up…"
Awakened, Morgan slowly opened her eyes to find Sully next her bed.
"GAH!" she yelled.
Morgan instinctively moved to the side and tumbled from the bed, much like a day ago when Robin did it to her. Sully looked over her with confusion.
"Morgan? You ok?" she asked.
Standing up, Morgan snapped back to reality and looked at Sully, ticked off.
"You were about to yell at me to get me up, weren't you?!" she said.
Sully looked at Morgan in genuine surprise.
"Uh…no? Why would you assume that?"
"Robin did it, and I didn't think it'd be out of place for you, Sully," explained Morgan, still visibly irritated.
Sully looked at Morgan, still confused at her assumptions.
"I may be getting you up absurdly early, but I'm not one to enjoy senseless torture. I'm no prankster."
Morgan's expression lightened up a bit.
"Well...ok," she said. "So what are we doing this early in the morning?"-she asked.
"This morning, I'm teaching you to fight in the dark. Just a little warm-up for later. Get some light clothing, you're going to be running a lot," said Sully.
After stretching for a few seconds, Morgan went off into the closet, coming out a minute later with a light set of clothing.
"Let's do this, Sully." she said, assertively.
With a smile on her face, Sully walked with Morgan outside.
Elsewhere, in a distant land, Robin and Lucina were sleeping in an inn. Their first stop in this Outrealm was a well arranged harvest, where the village they arrived in was in a festivity. Their little getaway was interrupted briefly by Risen, coming from nowhere. But since they both carried their weapons anyway, it was of no issue to them. After cleansing the area, they celebrated with the rest of the villagers and stayed for the night to rest before moving on.
While Lucina was asleep, Robin got up early at sunrise, uneasy, and walked to the window. He thought of the fact that Risen appeared despite Grima being felled forever, bringing back old memories before his temporary death.
"It's over." he whispered to himself. "It's been over for a long time. Maybe it's only because this is an alternate world."
He kept thinking that despite how weak the Risen this time were, that they could potentially return despite the lack of a single sighting in months. Was he being overly paranoid?
A sound from the bed snapped him out of his thoughts. Lucina was twitching around, probably feeling his absence, given that Robin getting up uncovered her from the sheets a bit. Robin walked over to the bed and covered her again with a smile on his face.
"I shouldn't burden you with such thoughts." he said to himself. "I'm here to make you happy, after all."
Robin walked out of the room, leaving Lucina asleep.
Lucina cracked a smile, unbeknownst to him. Probably unintentionally.
End Chapter Notes: Still getting this organized, next chapter is where I left it off in a four-month limbo. Might be some writing issues here and there, but nothing a few proofreads can't fix.
