Chapter 10: Peanut Butter Jelly Time

After spending the night at the center, Gary and Terra headed out to Vermillion City and the next gym. The two of them rode on Tory the Kid which made the traveling easier especially since it was filled ledges and hills. Bam-Bam was curled up in Terra's lap as they traveled. Terra was brushing his fur and polishing Bam-Bam's skull and bone club. He saw it as pampering and pleasure. Tory all of a sudden stopped.
"I think that Tory needs a rest" Gary stating the obvious with Tory snorting in agreement. "Let's stop and have lunch while he naps." Both of them jumped off of Tory and released their Pokémon. The two trainers placed their Pokémon's different foods and the one communal water bowel in front of their Pokémon. Gary then started to prepare their lunches. They were going to have PB&J sandwiches.
After eating Gary decided to take a nap underneath the tree. Terra decided to go fishing instead in the little stream that they had stopped at. Terra constructed an old rod that had been given to her by her paternal grandfather
She sat there for ten minutes before anything happened. As Terra had a hand on the rod she tried to grab one half of the sandwich. However, she felt nothing. Terra turned her head and saw a blue hump with a ruby gem in the center of its forehead. It was the most common water Pokémon in this region, a Tentacool. It was enjoying Terra's lunch in a mocking manner. After finishing its last bite it then shifts personalities to display a smirk smiled. This Tentacool was looking for a challenge. Suddenly it dawn on Terra. (Oh…crap my Pokémon are back underneath the tree sleeping with Gary!)
The Tentacool figured this out as well and tried to acid spray Terra. Terra quickly dodged the attack while trying to figure out how to attack back. However, she tripped over a rock that looked like it could knock out a Pokémon. Terra realized her opportune moment and grabbed the rock. She then flung the rock at the Tentacool which made direct contacted with its forehead. Terra then pulled a Pokéball and threw it at the Tentacool. The creature went into the ball and it shut. It moved around three times before the creature popped out. She needed to pull out a stronger type of Pokéball. Terra grabbed a great ball and chucked it at the Tentacool. Finally the ball stopped for good. Terra had caught a new Pokémon.
She called out her new Pokémon to inspect it and decided to call it PoPo Jell. PoPo Jell accepted the nickname and started to display some respect towards her. Terra called PoPo Jell back into the ball and headed back towards Gary and the others.
"Hey Terra! Where have you been?" Gary asked while her Pokemon rush by her side and showered her with love and affection.
"Guess what Flora, Bam-Bam, and Tory the Kid? We have a new team mate. Say hello to PoPo Jell." PoPo Jell made his debut with the team. Tory sniffed the new team mate while the other two extended their vine and little paw towards the new creature. PoPo Jell took the vine and little paw and responded back to them. Tory the Kid decided to lick PoPo Jell which turn out to be a huge mistake for the two of them. Tory the Kid got poisoned by PoPo Jell. In return PoPo Jell became paralyzed.
"Gary do you have antidote and paralyze heal?" Terra looks sheepishly at him. Gary looked at her Pokémon and realized why she asked that.
"Yeah let me get them. Guess we are sleeping here tonight?" He looked through the bag and pulled out two spray bottles. Gary walked over to Tory the Kid and PoPo Jell and sprayed the respective medicines on them. Both Pokémon recovered and went to sleep. Terra recalled PoPo Jell.
The two of them set up camp and prepared dinner. After eating, Terra told Gary on how she caught PoPo Jell and the fact it ate her sandwich which is why she gave it that particular nickname. Later on the two of them went to bed. Both of them were still on a high from their battles with Misty and the new Pokémon that Terra caught.
