ULTIMATE WARNING IN PROFILE AND CHAPTER 1!

AU, OOC.

Alright, guys, here is Chapter 1! It's a bit longer. I hope you'll like it, because I had a bit of a hard time with the translation. I'm never satisfied and I don't want my Dear Readers to misunderstand the story. There is some mystery of the character's sex, but only in the beginning.

Well, hope you'll enjoy it!

As the young one wandered out of the darkness of their mind, a warm and soft thing enveloped their body. The softness slowly, tenderly caressed the tired limbs, the gesture almost making the teen cry, but the young one didn't have the strength for that, either. The sound of the television filled the role of background noise, fading into a quiet buzz. The drops of the horrible rain were composing a light mantra that flitted into their ears: the youngling never ever felt this amount of peace.

"How is it?" the young one heard the question suddenly. The voice joined the orchestra as a deep bass, but the wisdom and the hardness was faintly palpable, although in that moment it was more like a pleasing purr of a cat.

"He's better, I think" the addressed one replied. That voice gave a bass tone to the composition of harmony, too, but it sounded slightly higher. The young one heard it from above, so he came to the conclusion that the addressed one is the one, who's caressing him with the softness. The wisdom was also sensible in this voice, but in the background was hiding some childish innocence, too; perhaps this one was the younger of the two.

"Where did you find him?" the older asked.

"I was just coming into the room, when I heard him" the younger explained. "He was lying next to the building in a puddle. He was so tiny that the water almost swallowed him…"

Tiny? This word flitted through the mind of the young one. Alright, he is small, but not tiny! However, a picture then flashed in front of him: a giant kneeling down and reaching out to him… Well, compared to that he was tiny.

"… I examined him. It looks like one of his ribs is broken. Maybe we should take him to a hospital. So he won't suffer."

"Fine, but after that?" the older asked. A brief pause stepped between them then the older spoke up:

"Maybe we should keep it. He could have a better life with us."

"Aw, you feel sorry for the poor little thing?" the younger teased.

"Bitch" the older grumbled.

"Jerk" the younger quipped by instinct. The youngling didn't understand, why the two would insult each other, but then he found out that this meant between the two that everything is alright. With that he made up his mind: he opened his eyes.

His sight was still covered by the veil of haze, but he was seeing much clearer now than outside. The room was enormous and simple; it looked like those motels he had been, but a much neater version. The light of the TV was suppressed by the strong lamp, dusting the room with golden powder. He himself was resting opposite the set, on the checkered blanket of a giant bed. His body was surrounded with a clear-white terry towel, explaining the warmth and the softness. The towel moved from time to time, accompanied by a tender caress along his back. In the corner of his eyes he noticed a black, hairy paw. As he tried to touch it, the paw moved: it rose. Then he understood: it was his paw.

" Look!" he heard the older one's whisper. Suddenly strong, but gentle fingers lifted him with the towel and pressed him against a hard surface. Then the fingers carefully gave place to an arm; soft skin smoothed over firm muscles that defeated even the biggest, softest feathery pillow of the world. The young one slowly blinked and turned his head to lay it onto the human's arm holding him. A finger caressed his cheek, causing the youngling to purr. The finger jumped onto the top of his head, between his ears and stroked him some more. Now the situation was completely clear before him: he was lying as a cat in a human's arms. And from what he heard he got the body of a few-weeks-old kitten.

"Hey, kitty" the younger, who held him, murmured. "You finally woke up?"

The young one replied with a barley audible meow that brought soft chuckles out of the two humans. Slowly he turned so he could take a look at them: if he hadn't been a cat, he would have blushed a hundred shades of red.

The owner of the muscled arm was a young man in his twenties. His chestnut-brown locks brushed his shoulders; one or two shorter tresses had fallen into his almond-shaped eyes that held hazel-green irises shining happily and with kindness. On his oval-shaped face, under a straight, slightly turned-up nose, on thin lips a gentle smile was hiding. His strong jaw line gave some masculinity to his boyish features.

The other one was sitting on the side of the next bed. His blond hair was a bit darkened by some gel left-over. His features were the complete opposite of the younger one's, but the similarities were still visible enough: he would be the big brother. The almond-shape of his eyes were rounded by the genetics, his grass-green irises were glittering with happiness, kindheartedness and a little worry. Under a straight nose, on full lips sat a kind, slightly cocky smile, as the man looked at the young one. He wore a grey T-shirt and dark sweatpants: he was probably getting ready to bed. His posture showed the difficult trials time had set before him in the past and which he fought through and gained strength from. His younger brother's suggested the same thing, but in him remained that innocence that was killed from the older.

The youngling's eyes widened from wonder and blinked once, causing such tenderness to creep into the younger man's irises that could be brought out only by an innocent kitten. Well, he is one…

"We're gonna take you to a doctor in the morning" the younger man continued tenderly, "then we're going to take care of you."

The youngling meowed again then started purring.

"We should name him first, if he stays with us" the older spoke up. His brother began thinking then turned to the kitten.

"How does Midnight sound?" he asked. The older just rolled his eyes, as he heard his brother's coddling. The youngling shook his head.

"Lucky?" came the next option, but it got a negative vote. "Fluffy?" that was now denied with a disgusted growl. Before another name could come up, the older interrupted:

"Let's name him Jade!"

The youngling knew the reason for that right away, so he quickly tilted his head upwards to the stroking finger. As the younger man looked over, he caught the kitten's answer: a small, pink tongue licked the tip.

"You like it?" the younger smiled. "What do you say about a little food, Jade?"

The young one – Jade, for now– started purring louder.

"Sam" the older spoke. Sam turned to him. "There's a little ham in the fridge."

Sam smiled again then carefully put Jade down onto the bed.

"Thanks, Dean" he murmured standing up and hurried into the kitchen. Jade watched him curiously then cautiously stood up. Stepping forward, though, his side exploded in so much pain that his vision whitened out. After a few seconds he surfaced from the pain with pathetic mewls, noticing that he was lying on the bed, while Dean, the older brother was kneeling next to it. The man was tenderly caressing his back and softly comforted him, whispering sweet nothings to him. As Jade quieted down, he started shivering, as a light breeze flowed through his still damp fur. Sam returned with a little bowl. Jade immediately smelled the fresh, warm ham, his little tummy growled, but the pain was unbearable.

"Did the rib move?" Sam asked worriedly and Dean gently felt the small torso. Jade noticed then the bone-white wrapping that pressed on his ribs. He didn't understand what happened. He could always bare the pain! The only explanation was that his pain tolerance was radically reduced with his size.

"There's a vet on night-shift nearby" Dean said. "Maybe we should take him there right now."

Soon the two men hurried out to the car. Jade rested in Sam's arms, who protected the kitten with an umbrella. The car quickly shot into the shower of raindrops and the black night.

There weren't a lot of patients in the office, so Jade was called in minutes. The kitten was trembling wildly in the foreign place, looking around fearfully, searching for any enemy. Sam comforted him constantly; he even put up with the tiny claws digging into his skin through the towel. As they were called, Jade buried his head into the towel that he was still wrapped in.

"Hello!" an older woman greeted them, who witnessed the amount of fear from the kitten. Jade peeked out hearing her: they were in a smaller room that was covered with a calming, light apricot color by the ceiling lamp. Next to the examining table stood the owner of the voice, an elderly woman, gently smiling down at her patient. The sympathy in the sky-blue eyes helped greatly in calming down Jade's nerves.

"Good evening, miss" Sam greeted.

"My name is Dr. Manning" the woman stepped closer. "And who do we have here?"

"My name is Sam" the young man introduced himself. "I found this kitten next to our motel room in a puddle. My brother and I are taking care of him, but it's possible we skated over something."

"He was completely alone?" Dr. Manning stroked the little kitten, who was watching her guardedly.

"Yes" Sam nodded. "I don't think anyone owns him, so we took him in. His name is Jade."

"It's a beautiful name" the woman noted.

"Believe it or not" Sam smiled, "he helped us to choose."

"Then he's a very intelligent kitten" the doctor smiled, too. "Alright, lay him on the table!" she ordered as she stepped to the examining table. Sam followed her and carefully placed Jade onto the soft pillow. However, before he could pull his hand away, Jade wrapped his two front legs around it and dug his claws into the skin. His ears flattened from fright and he was visibly shaking.

"Shh, it's okay" Sam comforted the kitten, who began mewling desperately.

"Stand to his head!" Dr. Manning spoke up, taking pity on the poor little thing. The young man complied then the doctor joined him with a smaller injection.

"Pain killer" she explained, noticing Sam's worried glance. She cautiously gave the kitten the medicine; Jade tightened his hold on Sam's hand, which the boy endured without a sound, while he tenderly stroked the black fur.

"He's a gorgeous little guy" Dr. Manning commented, as she began the examination. Sam smiled at that, but it quickly slid away, as his gaze fell back to the kitten. It seemed Jade would most likely sob from terror, if he was human.

"What do you think makes him so terrified?" he asked the doctor.

"The poor thing went through a whole lot of bad things and he's scared he's gonna get back into those circumstances, where he managed to run away from" she answered.

"What makes you say that?" asked Sam a bit scared.

"He has a lot of injuries and his body is full of bruises that are hidden by his fur" the doctor explained. "Well, the good news, none of his ribs are broken. The bad news, though, is that his chest will be a bit swelled for a day or two. It would be better if he's not standing, until the swell disappears."

"Thank you" Sam said then stood up. "Alright, Jade, we're going now."

As Sam lifted the kitten into his arms, Jade hid into his chest. Sam quickly said goodbye then joining his brother they left the office.

"Everything alright?" Dean asked. Sam nodded, but stayed silent. They escaped into the car from the rain then Dean drove them back to the motel. As soon as they got into their room, Sam began shushing the scared stiff Jade.

"We're back. It's alright. No one will hurt you…"

Dean watched worriedly, when Sam's voice choked from the suppressed crying. Soon Jade came out of his hiding place and meowed sadly. Dean brought the ham prepared earlier to his brother; the glittering jade eyes broke the brothers' hearts. Beside the small black nose shone a damp streak, as if the kitten had been crying. Sam couldn't help himself: he pressed a small kiss between the two flattened ears.

"I'm sure he's hungry" Dean whispered and gave the little bowl to his brother. Sam slid up against the headboard and laid Jade on his thigh, placing the bowl under the kitten's nose. Jade cautiously licked a piece of ham then at Sam's encouraging caress he ate it. At the taste exploding in his mouth he started purring and continued eating with much more relish. As he finished, a little water appeared in front of him with which he flushed down his dry throat. Soon he fell asleep from the tender strokes and the great feeling of a full stomach.

Poor little fella... I have the exact picture of Jade, I'll put the URL in my profile. It's on a Hungarian website, but the photo is what's important.
