Chapter 13

Disclaimer: I don't own Kickin' it.

Kim wanted to scream for help from Jack but she couldn't. When she opened her mouth nothing came out. She frowned as the stranger came closer to her.

"Now, I'm going to let you speak as long as you don't scream for help. If you try, I'll kill the ones you love in a blink of an eye."

Kim's eyes widen in fear.

"Before you question it, I know your loved ones because I'm going through your mind. So this Jack guy, you're ok if I kill him right. I mean you just met him…wait, wait you betrayed your protector…April is it? And kissed Jack behind her back. Man, your life could be a great vampire book; better than Twilight. Vampires sparkling…so stupid. I'm personally team Jacob because of the sparkle thing. What about you; team Jacob or team Edward?" The stranger asked then snapped his fingers.

"I'm team Edward." Kim answered, finding her voice.

The vampire snickered under his breath. "I figured."

"What, Edward is kind and gentle. Where as Jacob is all like 'look at my muscles, I know I'm sexy.' Or 'I need to take off my shirt to save Bella.' And Jacob is really aggressive." Kim defended Edward. Then she realized she's talking about Twilight with a guy who knocked April out and threatened to kill her loved ones.

"Ok, I think you got me there. But I thought must girls loved the muscles on Jacob." He said with a smirk.

"Well, I didn't say I don't like the muscle." Kim said quietly

"So, you like a little bit of both. Kind and gentle with the body."

Kim nodded her head.

"What are you doing? You're talking to him like he's not going to kill you." Kim thought.

"His playing around in your mind; going through your memories, searching for more weaknesses. And he's making small talk to pass the time." The voice spoke again.

"You know what…who are you?!" Kim had enough with the voice.

"I'm Alyx; I'm your instinctive voice. I've been locked up in your brain for the past three years. You never usually needed me because someone's always there to protect you but this time no one is here. I was unleashed when I sensed April getting choked and Jack was far away, caught in the storm. Now I'm here to guide you." Alyx explained herself.

"How are you here? Does everybody else have a voice guide?" Kim questioned confused.

"Not everybody has a guide like me…only special people; um…supernatural special."

"Wha…" Kim got snapped out of thought.

"Yo, you've been silent for the past five minutes. You okay?" The vampire asked with fake concern.

"What's your name?"

"Oh it's Kevin."

"Ok Kevin, what's your power?"

"That's for you to find out." He said then winked.

Kim started to blink and a new scene was in front of her. The lights were on and in front her was a tall muscular guy with black hair in a fohawk and ear piercings; he wore diamond earrings and all black. He smirked at Kim and moved out the way.

She saw Jack on his hands and knees breathing hard and soaking wet from both blood and sweat. He had blood on the side of his face and holes in his clothes. There were scars everywhere and he had a black eye. He looked up at Kim. His eyes; or more like good eye said run.

Kim tried, but again stuck in place and forced to watch.

The fohawk guy came closer to Jack and kicked him. Jack fell on his side with a grunt. Kim tried and screamed but there was no use.

Then the attacker put his combat boot on Jack's throat. You could hear tiny little cracks from he's neck, basically saying you're going to break his neck with the pressure you putting on it. Jack screamed and grabbed the combat trying to push it away, but when he got it a meter away his attacker put more force.

Jack was already weak he couldn't just push him away with his strength. Heck, he used most of his strength to lift himself on all fours.

"He could go into survival mode!" Kim thought.

"You're right but that's if Kevin doesn't knock him out first." Alyx told Kim, making Kim more worried.

"Well, thanks for helping a friend calm down." Kim thought sarcastically.

"Oh, I'm sorry! I meant to say…go Jack! WOAH!" Alyx covered up poorly.

"Thanks for trying."

Kim got snapped out of thought when she heard a bone crack and Jack's screaming. She focused her attention toward the two vampires. Jack had gone limp under Kevin's Boot. And Kevin looked down at Jack smiling then looked at Kim and winked. Kim started tearing up.

Then Kim blinked again and she was in the dark office again with Kevin in front of her.

"Is there an alternate world where he's torturing my friends to death and then they die in real life?" Kim thought worried.

"I haven't gotten my…or is it your head around it yet." Alyx said a little confused.

"You're smart. That was an intelligent inference…for a blonde." Kevin said rudely.

Kim opened her mouth to say something back, but she couldn't speak again.

"I don't feel like bickering about blondes and their intelligence. I'm only here for your blood, but I do like my prey to feel weak and helpless. That's why I'm killing the rest of your human friends as we speak."

Kim gave him a confused look.

"Would you like to watch? This will be much more entertaining, considering they're humans and they won't, you know, wake up the next day. The boring part is they're so weak. Their bones are like twigs, snap, snap, snap. It's less torture time for them, they don't suffer, and they die after a couple of hits to the head." Kevin complained a little. "Like your friend Milton, for instance, he already died and it's only been like an hour."

Kim's head shot toward Milton, who was lying on the ground. His skin slowly lost its color and became pale. Blood started to trick down his chin from his mouth and he stopped breathing. Suddenly scars appeared on Milton's bare arm and a bruise on his cheek.

"Yeah, I was mad he died so soon, so I started to kick him after he died." Kevin explained the scars and bruises. "But your friend Jerry lasted longer. He's strong than he looks." Kevin's lip started to bleed. "He was a fighter, but I broke him when I said April was died. But it was fun while it lasted." Kevin said touching his lip as it healed.

Kim's gaze when to Jerry, who was on the couch. His skin became pale too. There was a gash on the side of his forehead, and then appeared cut marks all over his skin. Blood got all over the white couch and the metallic smell got to Kim. She was close to fating, when she saw a huge gash along Jerry's abdomen.

Kim started sobbing.

"I'm a goner. Nobody's going to save me. The only people that really could have helped died right before my eyes." Kim thought in sadness

"Kim, I got our heads around it! This is a huge mind trick! You're asleep right now in the office. If you don't get up before he bites you here, you'll die in the real world! Wake up Kim!" Alyx exclaimed

"How?!" Kim asked Alyx in a rush because Kevin was inching forward toward her neck.

"I don't know message April! HURRY!"

"APRIL HELP ME! WAKE ME UP! PINCH ME, PUNCH ME WITH YOUR FULL STRENGTH, SPLASH WATER ON ME, DO ANYTHING! I'M UNDER ATTACK IN MY OWN MIND!" Kim sent the message.

There was no reply and Kim felt fangs glaze over her skin. She whimpered as she felt hopeless.

Suddenly Kim started to shiver wildly. Kevin stopped and leaned back. He gasped and fell to the ground dead. A stake appeared in Kevin's chest.

Kim then noticed she was wet with cold water.

"It worked!" Both Kim and Alyx exclaimed.

Kim jolt up from the chair she was sitting in. The first thing she noticed was a pile of ash in front of her. She connected the dots and got up from the chair away from Kevin's ashes.

Kim started to shiver again and she felt two strong arms around her waist from behind. Kim screamed in fear then a familiar voice spoke.

"Kim, Kim it's alright. You're ok, Kevin is gone, sweetie."

Kim turned around in the person's arm and hugged tightly.

"Don't scare me like that Jack." Kim said softly.

"I'm sorry." Jack said rubbing Kim's cold, wet back.

"Why am I wet?" Kim question then buried her face into Jack's chest. She realized how wrong that sounded.

Jack chuckled a little. "Because April got your message and dropped cool water on you."

Jack tried to pull away but Kim didn't let go.

"Kim I don't want to let go either but April is right in the supply closet looking for a broom. She's gotten far in her investigation of the argument and she's close. If she sees me hugging she'll interrogate you next." Jack sent Kim a message.

"Fine, but can I get a quick kiss. The mental images Kevin left behind aren't pretty and I need comfort." Kim sent a message to him. She looked up at him and pouted with her big brown eyes.

"Oh the puppy dog face. You got me."

Kim smiled. Jack swooped down and gave Kim the quick kiss she asked for. Kim didn't really get a chance to kiss back though.

Jack pulled out the hug and on cue April walked out the supply office with a broom and a dust pan. She used her vampire speed to clean up the ashes and put the broom and dust pan back. Then April appeared in front of Kim and hugged her tightly.

"You scared me so much." April said, pulling away.

She eyed Jack up and down then said. "Ok Kim it's dinner time. Sorry we didn't wake you up you looked peaceful."

Kim gave her a confused look. She looked around the room and they were the only ones there.

"When the counselors came everyone was up but you. So we let you sleep. You have now have twenty minutes to go and eat." Jack said.

On cue Kim's stomach growled. Kim nodded and ran for the mess hall.

"Your shirt is wet. Did you hug Kim?" April asked out of the blue.

Jack mentally face palmed himself.

"I'm an idiot, I didn't even think of the water."

Jack fell silent.

"You hugged Kim and she hugged back without a problem. Are you out of denial now? Did you make a move already? Does that anything to do with the argument?"

"Ugh…"

Will April get answers?

What would her reaction be?

How would that affect Jack and Kim?

Did you like it?
