Chapter Three: A Breakout and Reunion Part II

You know what? Matt Black enjoyed what he did for a living. He basically ran a company that his father left to him while he was in college. So when he got his education, Matt already had a job for himself doing basically, not a goddamn thing. He had no idea what his father did, and when Matthew was a teen, being a hormonal teen and teen being well known for being one way, he did not give a shit what his old man did, nor did he ever want to know. His father always had a girl on the side, and his "loving" mother was aware. His mom, to try and put it nicely, was a complete bitch. How bad was she? If the best and kindest word to describe Matthew mother was bitch, that meant it was pretty bad. With as bad as she was, she was still among us.

Getting back on subject, Matthew was heading into his office when he saw his messages. Matt let out a deep sigh. He knew that at least one of those messages was from Loren. After what happened to Johnny, and with the knowledge that the Saints are in town and that they will be paying a visit soon. He hated him, and for some strange reason, he knew that the Saints being here was going to be good for him, or at the very least, it will help him in getting rid of that son of a bitch. He knew that Loren was going to be gone, and gone for good. Matthew did not expect Loren to be anywhere near here, anyway.

So imagine his surprise when he opened his office door, and saw none other than the head of the Morningstar gang, and whatever role he had in the Syndicate, Phillipe Loren sitting in his chair, flanked by two male Morningstar members.

"What now?" Matthew asked in an irritable tone.

"What? Can't a man who owns a chunk of Steelport visits a company in his town?" Loren said to Matt.

"No, because I know that you aren't here for a charitable reason." Matt said.

"I was wondering, just what is your tie to the leader of the Saints?" Loren asked him.

"None of your goddamn business." Matt said.

"Well, I figured that you were going to be a little nicer." Loren said.

"Oh, sorry. None of your goddamn business, sir." Matt said, this time giving Loren a smile. Loren knew that Matt was keeping something from him. Matthew was not going to tell him a damn thing, so he figured that there was no point in trying to intimidate him, so he just got up from his seat, motioned for the Morningstar gang members that he brought with him, and headed out.

"Mr. Black, I will be seeing you soon." Loren said, heading for the door. "I also suggest that you check your attitude before the next time you talk to me."

"The way you act and talk, you think that you are going to be alive when and if that time come up." Matthew said.

That caused Loren to stop dead in his tracks, right at the door. "Excuse me?" Loren said, his voice getting angry.

"Oh, come on." Matthew said, sighing. "You know that you are going to have to deal with the Saints, right?"

"So? A lowly street gang like the Third Street Saints cannot stand up to the might of my Syndicate." Loren said, voice full of confidence.

"Yeah, sure. Keep thinking that." Matthew said, rushing them out the door. Matthew was right. If Brooke was still the same as when she originally took over the Saints, and after what Loren did to Johnny, Phillipe Loren is not going to be around much longer.

Matthew arrived home at about 4 PM in the evening. He was looking forward to having a quiet evening at home, and just unwinding, but of course, there was going to be no relaxing for him, at least mentally. As he sat his things down at the front door, and turned to sit down at his couch, he saw that there was a blinking light at his house phone.

He really contemplated even getting up to answer it because in reality, he knew who it was, and what it was about. Of course, not answering it was going to bother him for a long time.

"What the hell?" Matthew said to himself. He got up, and walked over to the phone. He pressed the button, and as if he did not know who it was, there was her voice, loud and clear.

Matthew, it's me, Brooke. Brooke Locker. Long time, no see, huh? I know what you have heard about what happened to Johnny, and that we are in Steelport right now. I know that you have a type of deal with Phillipe Loren, and that you are kind of under him right now, but after we get done with him, he won't be a problem anymore. Listen, I want to meet you tomorrow at Smiling Jack's, just to talk and catch up. I hope to see you again. Bye.

Matthew just stood there, staring at the message machine. He really was contemplating even meeting Brooke tomorrow. Let's be honest here, it is not as if Brooke cannot find him, because she just found his number out of the blue. Matthew wondered how that happened, but with this being the leader of the Saints we are talking about here, it's not as if anyone would be less than forthcoming with that information.

"Well, it looks like I have a date tomorrow." Matthew said, heading into his living room to finally unwind.

As Matthew drove to Smiling Jack's, he wondered what she was going to say to Brooke once he saw her. He spent the entire morning rehearsing what he was going to say to her once he saw her, and almost as much time to figure out what he was going to wear. He thought that first impressions were important, then came the thought that this was not going to be the first time that he and Brooke were going to meet. He really did over dress, because he was wearing a black suit, white shirt, and dress shoes that went with the suit. Needless to say, Matthew was still nervous, and as he pulled up in front of Smiling Jack's, he still had no idea as to what he was going to say or do once he saw her again.

He saw a purple Infuego in front of Smiling Jack's and knew that she was here. He sat there in his car, and took a deep breath, steeling his nerves for what he was about to do. He got out of his car, and walked inside. Matthew went to the counter to order something, but then...

"Hey handsome, over here." Brooke said. Matthew turned towards her voice, and was shocked as to what he saw. Brooke was now a brunette, and she was still a foot shorter than what he was, but with Matthew being a guy and all, he noticed that she was much more buxom than when she was last time he saw her. She literally looked as though she was poured into her clothes, which showed off her curves all too well.

"Brooke, I am glad to see that you are well." Matthew said, giving her a hug, and sitting down at the table with her. "So, what's up? What is going on?"

"A lot." Brooke said. "I needed to let you know that I plan on going after Phillipe Loren for killing Johnny. Second of all,-"

"Alright, stop." Matthew said, cutting her off. "First of all, I known you for long enough to know that anything I can say won't stop you from going after Phillipe. Second of all, if you are going after Phillipe, why do you need my help?"

Brooke smiled, and pulled out a piece of paper, and showed it to him. Matthew did not even need to see what it was to know what she had.

"Let me guess, this is a deed to my company, right?" Matthew asked her.

"Yeah." Brooke said. "While we took over a Morningstar clubhouse, we got a lot of their deeds to companies in Steelport, and this one was of particular interest to me. Help me out, and I will give you the company back."

"Fine. When do I start?" Matthew asked her.

"Right now. Come with me to the hideout." Brooke said, dragging him to her car.

"Dear god, what are you going to do me?" Matthew asked her.

"Anything I want." Brooke said.

Matthew looked at her as if he saw a ghost, and Brooke just laughed at her.
