AN: Well, it was made somewhat clear last time that Matthew had some ties to the DeWinter sisters. With Kiki being killed at the hands of Killbane, Viola is looking for revenge for her dead sister, and to get into the Saints, that is something that she is going to have to do.

Chapter Six: STAG and a New Member

Matthew sat at his computer in his kitchen as Viola sat across from him, reading a magazine. With nowhere to go, and not going back to the Syndicate, she had nowhere to go, or no home for that matter. Matthew, out of kindness of his heart for his friend (yeah, that's right, friend), let Viola stay with him at his house. She took his invitation with gratitude, and gratefully stayed in his home. Matthew could only stare at Viola, as she had that stoic, non caring look on her face for the past few days. For someone that had just lost their sister not even a few days earlier, she was acting as if nothing was the matter. Matthew did not really care, of course, but it was keeping him on guard as to how she minght act out at any moment.

"Can't you just tell her that I am really working with the Saints?" Viola said suddenly, placing her magazine down.

"That's on you, really. I can't just bring you to the Saint HQ, and say, 'Here's the new member.' Especially because of what happen to Johnny." Matthew said, peeking from around his laptop.

"Okay, genius. What am I supposed to do to get them on my side?" Viola asked him.

"They still got that shipment, right? Offer that to them. Tell them where it is coming in, and have them rob the shipment from the Morningstar." Matthew said.

"Really? Would she go for it?" Viola asked Matthew.

"I would not put it past them." Matthew said.

"Alright. Here goes nothing." Viola said. She reached over, got her cellphone, and called Brooke. Viola put the call on speaker so that Matthew could hear from across the room.

"This is Viola DeWinter. Listen, the Morningstar have a shipment coming in from the docks in a few hours. I think that the Saints should rob the shipment, and take the cargo for themselves." Viola said.

"Why should I trust the slut that helped kill my friend?" Brooke said, her voice ringing through out Matthew's home.

"Just check it out, and if the info is good, and it will be, I will look forward to meeting you in person." Viola said, hanging up the phone.

"Cheerful woman." Viola said in a sarcastic tone.

"You are part of the group that killed Johnny Gat, I wouldn't be all sunshine and roses either in her shoes if you called me." Matthew said.

"Whatever. Let's just wait until she calls back." Viola said.

It was a few hours later when Brooke finally called Viola back. Matthew was sitting across from her when she answered the phone.

"So, I take it that the information was good?" Viola asked her.

"Sure, but I am still not on par with trusting you." Brooke said.

"Hey, I am willing to hurt the Syndicate, that should mean something to you." Viola said.

"Not really, no." Brooke replied.

"Look, I am going to be at the park in about two hours. If you are feeling up to it, it would be in your best interest for you to come there and meet me." Viola said.

"Fine. You better be there." Brooke said, hanging up the phone.

Viola sighed, and looked at her friend. "Well?"

"Well what?" Matthew asked back.

"How did the call go?" Viola asked him.

"Well enough." Matthew answered. "You still have to meet her, though, and that is something that I can't help you with."

"Fine. I will go and meet her on my own." Viola said, heading towards his front door. Before she left, she looked back at him. "Any advice?"

"Only one." Matthew said. "Don't be yourself."

Viola shot a glare at him.

"I'm being honest." Matthew said. Viola shot him the bird, and slammed his door loudly.

When the Third Streets Saints are in town, quiet is kind of a bad thing. When he did not hear from Brooke or Viola, he got a really bad feeling for some strange and unexplained reason. Matthew knew that something was happening, and he knew that he better head to the Saints HQ to figure out just what was happening.

To the second that he reached the penthouse, Pierce pushed him back into the elevator, handing him a machine gun.

"What's wrong?" Matthew asked.

"Boss and Viola are being chased back here by some military thugs. We got to give them a hand." Pierce said.

"Shit. Why are they after them?" Matthew asked Pierce.

"Beats me." Pierce said. "Willing to bet 10k that this is a call from Monica Hughes, though."

"Yeah, really." Matthew said. Pierce and Matthew reached the ground floor, and rushed out to join the rest of the Saints as they provided cover fire for the cop car that contained Brooke and Viola as it rushed towards the Saint HQ. it came to a stop, and they hopped out, and began to help in driving out the military force. As they began to retreat, Matthew caught sight of a vehicle that they were driving.

"STAG." Matthew said. He made a mental note, knowing that this was not going to be the last time that they saw them.

Once everything settled down, and the Saints were busy doing their own thing, Brooke and Matthew had a moment to themselves. Brooke and Matthew were talking silently in her bedroom so they would not air their conversation to the rest of the Saints.

"So, how did everything go?" Matthew said.

"As expected." Brooke said. "Me and Viola barely had a minute to talk before those guys came in and broke it up."

"Those guys, are called STAG." Matthew said. "Don't ask me what that stands for, because I have no idea."

"Whoever they are, we have to be ready for them." Brooke said.

Matthew nodded in agreement, and took a look at the time. "Listen, it is getting late, so I think that I am going to head back home."

"Wait, I was wondering if you could stay the night here." Brooke said, catching him off guard.

"Why?" Matthew asked her, wondering what she was getting at.

"No reason. I just wanted you hear, alright?" Brooke said. Matthew agreed, knowing that there was more to that than just wanting a friend close by.

AN: I am setting the stage for a little romance between Brooke and Matthew, as evident with the end of the chapter. Next chapter, we are going to see some of Brooke's past, and it is not gonna be pretty...
