Kim paced around the room worried as hell. She played with hands and bit her lip, looking over to the bed. She stopped and turned to the bed.
"April, I'm sorry." Kim tried to message April, but there was no use. The connection was completely cut off when April went into her rehealing phase.
Jack walked into the room and hugged Kim from behind.
"It's been two months. You need to stop worrying Kim. She's rehealing perfectly fine." Jack started to massage Kim's shoulder.
Kim stared at April's limp body on the bed.
"I can't help but think it was my fault." She whispered.
"No it isn't."
Kim turned in Jack's arms and faced him.
"If I didn't say anything during that deal purposual she wanted be hurt. She would have been with us the whole time so we could have all dealt with Jerry. She wouldn't be hurt at all if I didn't say anything." Kim said.
Jack fell silent and hugged Kim close and Kim hugged back.
"She hasn't even started breathing yet." Kim said into his chest.
"When she starts breathing it's a sign that she'll be up in a couple of hours." Jack said.
Kim nodded. "What about Jerry?"
"He's all chained up to the wall, so he won't hurt anybody tonight. I'll just get him a blood bag and watch over him. But I don't want you to go and check on him because he could break out of the chains."
"I know I heard all the crashing yesterday. What about Milton? I know we live in the same house right now but I haven't seen him because I'm in here." Kim pulled away and sat on the foot of the bed.
Jack sighed. "He's still traumatized about his parents…" Jack looked down, feeling guilty. "I should have been there, but I was busy fighting off the first vampire. I shouldn't have let that happen. Now, Milton stays locked up in his room. The only time I see him is when he has to go to the bathroom or eats; though he eating is rare."
Kim frowned. "He's acting like me when I found out about April. He'll be fine I hope."
"But, at least you get to see April living again. He can't get them back like you can." Jack said softly.
Kim's frown deepened. "Yeah, you're right." Kim said.
Jack suddenly looked up, directly at April. His eyes widened in surprise. Kim looked between him and April's body.
"What?" She asked.
"Her blood is now pumping though her vein, her heart is beating."
Kim turned toward April. April's chest started to rise up and down and her skin regained its color slowly. She flinched a little then stayed still on her back. Kim smiled. She got up and clung onto Jack.
"She's coming back!" Kim exclaimed.
Jack smiled at her excitement. Kim looked up, got up her toes and kissed Jack. Jack kissed back. Kim pulled away.
"What was that for?" Jack asked smiling.
"Well, I'm happy and I like spending the happiness." Kim said smiling too.
"You gave me a lot of happiness last night." Jack said smirking.
Kim blushed a little before kissing Jack again. Jack kissed back and deepened the kiss. Suddenly, there was a loud crashing sound. Jack and Kim both jerk away from each and looked at the closed door. Jack grunted.
"That would be Jerry trying to break out of his chains. I'll be right back to finish what we started." Jack said before speeding off to the basement.
Kim walked over to the bed and sat at the foot again. She looked at April and then frowned.
"What if she hates me? Is she still going to be mad at me when she wakes up? What if she leaves right after she gets up? I mean she's held a grudge against Jack for centuries, she can definitely hold a grudge against me." Kim thought worried.
"Hey, cheer up! If she really hated you she wouldn't have told Jack to protect you. She also wouldn't have come back, she would have left. She was on her way when she was attacked." Alyx said.
"You know what? Alyx you're the first person that comes to mind when it I think of caring. You know what to say when I'm feeling down." Kim thought.
"Aww, thank you. But to be fair I only know what to say because I'm in your mind. So basically I know everything about you and therefore I know what you like to hear." Alyx said truthfully.
"Yeah, but you could be silent the whole time and not care about me at all until I'm in real danger, but you always choose to speak with me when I need someone other than the guys."
"If I still had my body I'd be smiling right now."
Kim smile even more. "This has got to be the first time I've smiled so much in one day for months."
She laid down on her back, letting her feet dangle off the side. There was another crash.
"JERRY, I JUST BOUGHT THESE CHAINS; HOW DARE YOU BREAK THEM?!" Jack shouted.
Kim chuckled lightly. "He breaks every chain Jack buys."
There were more crashes and thuds.
"JERRY, TAKE THE BLOOD BAG!" Jack shouted again.
"NO!" Jerry shouted right back.
Then there was the sound of skin and skin, followed by a loud cry.
"SIT BOY!" Jack shouted.
"He's really been treating Jerry like a dog lately. It's stupid because Jerry is a vampire not a werewolf." Kim thought.
"Jack for the last time I'm not a dog or a werewolf! I'm a vampire just like you!" Jerry shouted.
"I can hear them clearly. They must be in the living room right now."
"Shut up and take the bag." Jack said calmly.
"No, I want Kim tonight!" Jerry exclaimed.
Jack hissed. "You're not having her."
There were more crashing, thuds, smacking, and bones snapping in and out of place. Then it all stopped after ten minutes.
"Now Jerry, are you going to take the bag?" Jack hissed.
"No, I'm not." Jerry said simply.
"I have you in a headlock. With one flick of the wrist I could snap your neck and I won't hesitant to do so. That's if you don't take the freaking blood bag." Jack threatened.
"Ok! I'll take the stupid blood bag!" Jerry exclaimed.
"That evil side of Jerry is getting tamed. At first it was wild. He attacked anyone or anything in his path. He used to pick out one female victim and tortured her to death. He tried to attack me countless time, but now he's calming down. Jack's been taming him for the past month. It's working little by little." Kim thought.
Kim sighed. "Kim, Jerry is being stubborn tonight so I'm going to stay down here and watch him. Don't come down for anything. Understand?" Jack messaged Kim.
"But what if I want a midnight snack?" Kim asked.
"Then you'll tell me what you want and I'll get it." Jack messaged.
"But I don't know what I'm craving until I actually see it." Kim messaged.
"Well, too bad."
"But-"
"Kim!"
"Well someone's in a mood."
"I'm glad you noticed. Just don't come down stairs."
"Ok, gosh. What am I supposed to do?"
"I don't know. Wait for April to wake or play on your phone."
"Ok. See ya there."
Kim pulled out her phone and started playing piano tiles.
Kim stopped looking at pictures on instagram when she heard grunting. She looked up toward April. April opened her eyes slowly and sat up with her elbows supporting her. She looked at back Kim.
"April!" Kim shouted smiling.
April hissed and her eyes turned red. "Get away!"
Kim frowned. "Wha-"
"Get away!" April shouted as a hungry look appeared on her face.
"Oh. But I thought you can control your hunger." Kim said as she got up and backed away slowly.
"Not when I haven't eaten for however long I was out. And it doesn't help that you have the rarest blood type. Get away before I hurt you." April warned.
She started to breath heavily and her fangs came out.
"Get out of the room now!" April shouted.
Kim nodded. Suddenly the door flung open. Jack ran to the side of the bed and threw a blood bag at her face.
"Drink that." Jack said.
April took the blood bag off her face and glared at Jack. She obeyed and bit into the bag. When she was done she pouted a little.
"More please." She whispered.
Jack sped off and got two more. He threw them on her face again. April pulled them off and glared at him.
"What? Your reflexes haven't kicked in yet, I find this amusing." Jack said chuckling. "I'm going to go back to Jerry now." With that said Jack sped off.
April drank the bags in silence. Kim just stood there awkwardly looking at April. When April was done she looked back Kim. After a couple minutes of silence, April finally broke the silence.
"How long was I out?"
"Two months." Kim answered.
"What did I miss?"
"Jerry's still a newborn, so Jack's been trying to tame the evil side every night for the passed month. His hunger doesn't exactly care about hunger anymore. It cares more about torturing people."
April frowned a little.
"And Milton…he isn't doing too well. Last week…his parent got caught up in our vampire business. A vampire attacked them while we were at his house." Kim said sadly.
April's frown deepened.
"On the upside Jack's doing a great job of protecting. Jerry helps sometimes when he's in control of himself. And Alyx has been giving me advice throughout the time you were out." Kim tried her best to sound cheerful.
"Well, that's great…I guess?" April moved her legs to the edge of the bed.
She looked down at her feet before looking back up at Kim.
"I'm still your best friend. So, tell me." April sighed. "How was your first time?"
"How did-"
"Your blood isn't pure anymore, which is good I guess. Fewer vampires will come for you seeing that your blood is tainted. But don't get your hopes up you still have the rarest blood type." April explained smoothly.
Kim blushed and stayed silent.
"Come on don't clam up now! Can you at least tell me if he still got it? Did he do that little trick with-?"
"Who are you and what have you done to April?"
"Oh, my brain is…reactivating? Yeah, you can say that. My brain is reactivating and right now I don't have the emotion, anger. Now I just have sadness, happiness, and confusion. Oh want here's a new one hurt/betrayed. I'm feeling that right now."
"Do you remember why?"
"Yeah, I got everything working; including memory."
She started moving her arm then suddenly jerked her fist through the wooden headboard. She got up, sped off and was back in a second. She sniffed.
"A werewolf in New York just farted." Her face had a look of disgust. "Just my super hea-" She screamed and covered her ear. After a couple of seconds she stopped. "Why are we so close to construction?"
"That construction site's like three miles away." Kim said.
"Super hearing; remember?" She dug a finger into her still ringing ear.
She looked around the room feeling confused. "Where are we?"
"Principal Fundurburk's house. Apparently he owed Milton for some top secret thing."
April nodded. "I think I'll go talk to Milton."
"He's not opening the door." Kim concluded
"I'm a vampire. I'll just get in his head and mess with him until he opens the door." April said turning toward the door.
"What if he doesn't want to talk?"
"I can relate with him kinda. I think I'll find a way." April walked out.
"All my emotions are back and my anger was really overwhelming with Kim in the room. I needed to get out of there before I did something I would've regretted." April thought as she sniffed out Milton's room.
April knocked on his door. "Milton it's April. I'm up."
In a couple of seconds, April heard footstep coming toward the door. Milton opened it a creak and looked up at April. He opened it all the way and tackled her with a tight hug.
"April, I need your wise inspirational words right now." Milton muttered.
"Well, let's start with the predictable thing to say. I'm sorry for your loss."
Milton pulled away and walked into the room. April followed, closing the door behind her.
"So, how are you holding up?" April asked as she sat down on the bed.
Milton leaned against the window frame, looking out at the moonlit night. April stared at his back waiting for an answer.
"Not good. I was there, in the room when it happened. I could have done something, but I was too scared. They would still be alive if I did something." Milton whispered.
Tears formed in his eyes.
"Hey, Milton it's not your fault. If you did something you most likely would've gotten killed too. Then everyone would've died." April said.
"At least I would have died trying. At least I wouldn't be a coward like I always am. At least I would have a chance to see them." Milton said looking up at the full moon.
"Do you really think they would want that Milton? They want you live your life and not die so young." April said looking down.
"What if they want me with them? What if they want to see me again?" Milton asked turning around.
"They looking down at you right now Milton. And they are with you…I know it's kind of corny, but they're in your heart."
"That's what Kim said to me."
"At least you know what your parents look like. The only thing I remember is their smiles…" April stopped herself.
"This isn't about me, it's about Milton."
"I'm sorry." Milton said.
"No. I'm sorry…I'm not the best person to talk to when it comes up to losing something close to you."
"That's not true. You're the person that helped me get over Julie when we broke up. You're the person that helped me get over losing the perfect attendance award to Sidney. And I didn't even have to ask. You just came to me." Milton smiled lightly.
April smiled back, got up and hugged him. "It's going to be okay. You're so much stronger than people think…than you think."
"Thank you." Milton smiled once more.
Suddenly there was a loud howl. April's eyes widen and she tensed up some.
"Oh no."
Milton pulled away. "That howl sounds like it's right outside."
April swallowed. "That's because it is and it's a full moon out. Oh and I know that werewolf's scent." April started biting on her lip.
"Who is it?"
"A crazy ex I managed to escape from." April started pacing.
"Like Jack…wait you dated a werewolf?" Milton asked.
"Yes, two actually…I was exploring my opinions in the supernatural world. And he's nothing like Jack; he was just really overprotective, which I didn't get because I'm not his mate. Anyway it was basically losing my freedom again, so ran away. He's the reason I came to Seaford."
"Was he cheating on his mate with you?"
"No. He didn't find his mate yet…at least that's what he told me."
Suddenly, there was banging at the door.
"April, I got it!" Jack's shouted from downstairs.
"But it's a full moon!" April shouted back.
"It's ok; I'll just give him a treat A.K.A. raw steak!" Jack shouted.
April heard footsteps from downstairs and Jack unlocking the door. April panicked and ran downstairs, tackling Jack and pinning him down.
"What women?" Jack asked frankly scared.
"What do you not get about full moon?"
"April." A deep voice growled.
April turned to the door.
"Derrick." April said, nervously.
Derrick glared at Jack, who was helplessly pinned on the ground by April. April followed his glare and looked at Jack. Then there were footsteps from the living room to the door. April sniffed and looked up slowly.
"April, Jack." Jerry glared at the both of them with red eyes.
Jack and April swallowed. "Jerry." They both said.
