AN: I know that I already finished this story, but due to the final two chapters being only 1000 words roughly apiece, I decided to combine them. It is basically chapters 9 and 10 combined. So I hope that you will enjoy this again. Thanks for reading.

Chapter Nine: Dates and STAG Part II: Endgame

"Well, that is the last of them." Brooke said, as she, Pierce, and Oleg cleared out the last of the Luchadores. All hell was breaking loose in Steelport, and with them clearing out the last of the chaos causers, if you will, there was going to be a little bit of quiet, at least.

"Damn. What the hell was this all about?" Pierce asked.

"I have no idea, but at least it is over with now." Brooke said. Brooke took a moment to assess the damage around the Armory that they came to, and then she received a call.

"Who is this?" Brooke asked.

"I would say congrats, but that would be a lie to a piece of trash like you." Kia voice came through.

"Really bitch? What do you want?" Brooke asked her.

"You guys are gonna blow up Joe Magrac (again, sorry for misspelling words)." Kia asked her.

"Girl, you are really fucked up if you think the Saints are gonna do that." Brooke said to her.

"Oh, did I forget to mention this to you? I have your friends, and your boyfriend Matthew." Kia said with pleasure evident in her voice.

"You fucking bitch." Brooke said, before Kia disconnected the line.

"What's up?" Pierce asked her.

"Kia's got everyone on Magnerac Island, and she is gonna blow it up. I have to get there!" Brooke screamed.

"Go, we got it here." Pierce said. Brooke nodded, and hopped into an empty N-Forcer, and raced for Magnerac Island.

Brooke raced through the city towards the dock, and met Kinzie there. To make matters worse, Kinzie told her that there was bombs on the island, and that Brooke had to use the Sonic Boom Gun to knock them in the water. Brooke took a nearby boat towards the island, and began to make her long slow trek up the statue.

As she made her way up the mountain, knocking bombs into the water as she went, Brooke freed the various Saints members that were tied up along the route. Once she made her way to the top of the Statue, Brooke noticed that not only did Kia have Matthew hostage, but Viola, Mayor Renolds, and Shaundi as well.

"Well, I am surprise to see you here. I figured that you were gonna let them die, just like all of your other friends." Kia said, holding Matthew in front of her like a shield.

"Hey, I always come for those that I care about." Brooke shouted back. Matthew noticed that Kia took her attention off of him. In one swift motion, Matthew set off a flashbang he had hidden away. Once the flashbang went off, Kia lost her grip on Matthew, and dropped down, which gave Brooke an open shot at Kia. Kia was not quick enough to dodge the gunshot right to her heart. Once Kia was down, Brooke untied everyone, making sure that they were alright.

"Hey man, are you alright?" Brooke asked Matthew.

"Yeah, I knew that you were coming." Matthew said.

"I couldn't let Kia do what she was gonna do, you know?" Brooke told him.

Matthew nodded in agreement. As they all began to make there way towards the bottom of the mountain, Matthew caught something out of the corner of his eye.

Someone was pointing a gun right at Brooke. Matthew was able to see that Kia was somehow still alive, and was trying to take Brooke with her!

There was a bang, and Brooke turned around just in time to see Matthew step in front of her to take the shot in his chest.

Matthew fell to the ground, staring at the sky above him, slowly dying everyone assumed. As the rest of the Saints surrounded him, the only face he concerned himself with was Brooke's. In what Matthew best guess was his last few words, he looked directly at her.

"Brooke, I love you..." He choked out.

What happened in the proceeding hour was all a blur to Brooke. All she could see was Matthew stepping in front of her, taking the shot that was meant for her, and then telling her that he loved her. By the grace of god, they managed to get him to a hospital, and he was in surgery right now. Brooke was somewhat relieved that he was still alive, but Matthew was not out of the woods just yet. She wondered what she was going to say to him, if he survived. Was there something there between them? Could there be something there between the two?

Brooke's head swam with the thoughts that she was having, and it was going to get really worse before it got better.

There was finally news, even better, good news. Matthew made it out of surgery, but he was still out from said surgery. Brooke could not be tore from his side for anything. She wanted to be right by his side when he woke up, because they had something important to talk about.

She walked to his bedside, and slowly ran a hand through his hair. In all of these years, he still kept his hair the same way. Brooke just chuckled, and it felt strange, but good, to laugh after everything that has happened.

"Boss!" Pierce said, running into the hospital room, and knocking Brooke back to reality.

"What?" Brooke asked, somewhat snapping at him.

"The city is under attack!" Pierce said, motioning for Brooke to follow him.

Brooke took a longing glance at Matthew, and ran outside, following Pierce.

It looked as though the world was ending. That is the only way that Brooke could describe it best. The big machine that was towering over Steelport was raining down missiles at the city, killing innocent people by the thousands. Councilwoman Hughes was the one responsible for this. Councilwoman Hughes gave Cyrus the okay to use this big ass machine, and for what? To try and kill the Saints, but of course, the only thing the Daedalus was really doing was killing innocent people. As Brooke raced back to the original hideout to get an armed helicopter, she noticed that the Daedalus wasn't targeting innocent people as she originally thought, but it was blindly blasting buildings, of course just trying to kill the Saints, hoping to lessen the places the gang can hide.

Brooke immediately hopped out of the car, and ran inside the building to get at a helicopter. She got into one, and immediately flew at the Daedalus.

"Jesus, this thing is huge." Brooke said to herself.

"Your tax dollars at work." Kinzie said into her bluetooth.

"Not mine, seeing as how I don't pay them." Brooke responded.

"I can hack into the D.O.D, and within two years, we can build or own." Kinzie said.

"God, I hope." Brooke said. Brooke continued her flight towards the Daedalus, taking out the cannons that were shooting at the city. Now that the cannons were gone, that meant that the city was safe for the moment.

Kinzie told her before she began her drive through the frantic city, that if she was too take out the Daedalus, she had to get on the airship first, then plant the bombs she gave her. Easy enough right?

Brooke landed on the Daedalus, and of course the minute that she stepped out of the helicopter that she flew to the Daedalus, STAG was on her. She was a woman on a mission. She ripped threw the STAG soldiers, and planted two bombs on the front deck of the ship. She got into a nearby vacant VTOL, and flew to the back upper deck, and planted the last bomb.

The second after the last bomb was planted, a siren went off.

"Bombs on deck! Bombs on deck!" A voice rang out over the ship. Now she had to get off the ship.

"Make sure she goes down with the ship!" Cyrus screamed, flying over the ship in his black VTOL.

"No, he's going down first." Brooke said through gritted teeth. Brooke grabbed a nearby rocket launcher, and fired repeatedly at the plane that Cyrus was in. Brooke managed to hit the plane in the engine, and it crashed into the Daedalus, skidding across the deck, and off of it.

"Nice landing, Cyrus." Brooke said, giving him a mock salute. The Daedalus began to fall apart, and Brooke found a vacant VTOL nearby, and immediately hopped inside, and flew away.

"Kinzie, get everyone together. I have an annoucement to make." Brooke said, flying away, the Dalealus exploding in the background.

True to her word, Brooke did have a major announcement. She, Zimos, Angel, Pierce, and Kinzie went to the local news station, and took it over, just as Jane Valderama was giving a report. Once everything was for the Saints, Brooke made an annoucement.

"Dear bitch." Brooke said, it was obvious that she was talking about Councilwoman Hughes. "As of this point, Steelport is under new control. If you even think about coming into my city again, you will leave in a fucking box. Back to you, Jane."

"So, now what?" Pierce asked Brooke as they walked away from the station.

"We run Steelport." Brooke said simply. "Is Matthew out of surgery?"

"He should be, why'd you ask?" Pierce said.

"I want him brought back to his house." Brooke said.

"Alright, I'm on it." Pierce said.

Matthew first heard voices, outside his room, and he assumed that he was in the hospital still. Once he opened his eyes, he realized that the was in his bedroom. He wondered how he got there from the hospital, but once he got his bearings, and the voices outside the bedroom door became clear, he figured that Brooke probably had himself brought here. Matthew noticed that his midsection, and upper chest was taped, along with only his black and purple pajama bottoms being the only clothes that he wore. Matthew sat up, wincing at the pain in his midsection.

He heard her say goodbye to someone, and soon enough entered the bedroom, smiling at Matthew.

"Hey there. How are you feeling?" Brooke asked him.

"Sore as hell, but alive. So, I really cannot complain." Matthew said.

"Thanks, for doing what you did." Brooke said.

"No problem." Matthew said back. He noticed that Brooke had something on her mind.

"On Magnerac Island, right after Kia shot you, and before you blacked out, you told me something." Brooke said.

Matthew immediately remembered what it was, and what he said. Before he could inquire about it, however, Brooke continued.

"You told me that you loved me." Brooke said, looking right at him.

"Oh." Matthew said. What the hell was he gonna say to her now? He really can't take it back, because he did not want to, honestly. He did have feelings for her, and he always did, but did she feel the same way?

"Even if I did, do you feel the same?" Matthew asked, not staring her in the face.

There was a long silence, which was broken by Brooke.

"I do." Brooke said.

"Really?" Matthew said, somewhat surprised at this.

"Really. Ever since you saved me back in Stillwater." Brooke said.

"Okay then. So, now what?" Matthew asked her.

Brooke calmly walked over, and kissed him on the lips.

"We take things nice and slow." Brooke said with a smile.

Matthew could only smirk at Brooke. This was the girl he loved, after all.
