Chapter 18
It was a Thursday night and Rosie stayed up in her room, it's all she had been doing however over the last few weeks, it seemed her only way of staying out of Amy's way, she felt terrified if being at home at the moment when Amy was in as she was still threatening her constantly and she couldn't seem to leave her alone.
Despite Rachel being worried sick about her and constantly pressing her to tell her what was wrong she wouldn't say. Night time was the worst, the nightmares wouldn't stop and she kept waking up in the middle of the night crying her eyes out. Of course then Amy would come and make her feel as though she was having the nightmare all over again.
A couple of minutes later her door opened, immediately Rosie jumped terrified it was Amy
"Hey Rosie, teas ready, are you coming down?"
"I'm not hungry" Rosie said
Rachel sighed before sitting down on her bed
"Actually it wasn't really an option, I'm not having you skipping meals, come on let's go"
"I feel sick"
Rachel put her hand to her forehead and realised she was a bit hot
"Well you can still try and eat something all the same"
"Can I not just have it up here" Rosie begged really not wanting to go down, she knew Amy wouldn't say anything in front of Rachel but she also dreaded what would happen the minute Rachel turned her back
"Nope come on"
Rosie knew she didn't really have much other choice but to follow Rachel down
"Oh and Amy's friend Kayleigh's here"
Hearing this made Amy feel even more sick, she knew Kayleigh ever since all this had started with Amy all her friends would come over to her at lunch until she was in floods of tears, Amy had made sure that practically the whole school was against her at the moment, even some of her closest friends seemed to be funny around her at the moment
As soon as she went into the kitchen Amy smiled at her
"Hey Rosie"
"Hi" Rosie mumbled
Once Rachel had put the tea out they all sat down
Rosie stayed silent the whole time while the others talked
"Rachel when I'm big will I be as tall as you" Rebecca said randomly
"Well we don't know yet darling"
"Why am I littler than everyone else?"
"Because you're the youngest" Rachel said
"But it's not fair" Rebecca moaned causing everyone to laugh
"Well there's nothing we can do about that is there? Lily are you eating that" she asked when she saw lily just messing around with her spaghetti
"I don't like spaghetti"
"Well that's news to me you've liked it all the other times we've had it, now stop being fussy and get it eaten please"
"I can't Joseph told me what's really in it"
"Ah is this the same Joseph who you and I need to have a little chat about after tea?"
"Why do we need to chat about him he's horrible"
"Well I'll tell you why after tea"
"Am I in trouble" lily asked suddenly sounding all worried
"Lily for the last time we'll talk after tea okay, now what's he said about spaghetti"
"That it's really worms in it" Lily said
Rachel sighed and rolled her eyes the things children would come out with sometimes really were quite funny
"I wouldn't believe everything you here, now get it eaten"
"Amy are you and Kayleigh going out anywhere after tea?"
"Nope we were just going to watch a film in the lounge, Rosie why don't you watch too"
Rosie instantly felt her throat go dry, time alone with Kayleigh and Amy was what she feared the most
"Yeah that'd be nice love" Rachel said
She was worried about Rosie and thought maybe if she was with the two of them for a bit it might cheer her up and she was more likely to open up to them than her
"I've got homework" Rosie said
"I'm sure it can wait" Amy said
Rosie could tell there wasn't really any getting out of it and knew she'd have to go along with it
After tea the girls went through to the lounge and Rachel continued to tidy up
Rebecca went upstairs and lily was about to follow but Rachel stopped
"Not so fast me and you need words"
As Rachel put everything in the dishwasher lily started biting her nails getting a bit anxious, she had a pretty good idea about what it was Rachel wanted to talk to her about but she didn't understand how she knew
Once she'd finished Rachel turned her attention to lily
"Sit down lily" Rachel said "and take those fingers out your mouth, how many more times will I need to tell you off for it"
It came out a bit too harshly and lily suddenly felt all scared, she hated being told off even if it was just something little.
"Right now what happened today at school with you and Joseph, I heard the two of you were being really silly all afternoon when you were sat together and you ended up getting sent to nursery to do your work"
Lily didn't say anything just looked at the floor
"So what have you got to say for yourself then?"
"I don't know" lily mumbled feeling tears forming in her eyes but Rachel didn't see as her head was facing the ground
"Well are you going to tell me what happened?"
Lily started mumbling something but it wasn't very clear
"What?" Rachel said cupping her hands to her ears
"I ...I didn't mean to" lily stammered feeling really nervous
"Well I think you knew exactly what you were doing, and to me it doesn't sound like very good behaviour, you are old enough now to know perfectly well how to behave in school"
Lily couldn't stop herself crying now and suddenly ran upstairs and locked herself in the bathroom
Rachel rolled her eyes, although she knew she probably had been a bit too harsh on lily, with her she knew how careful she needed to be to make sure she didn't finish up getting all upset, as it wouldn't take much to knock her confidence completely, so she'd be back to square one with her
She went upstairs and up to the bathroom
"Lily come out" she called
When she didn't get a response she opened the bathroom door and found her sat on the toilet seat crying
"Hey now I don't think there's any need for all this is there huh?" She said gently "I wasn't telling you off, well not properly anyway, it's just I don't think getting sent to nursery is something you want to happen very often is it?"
Lily shook her head
"And you must know that being silly and chatting lots isn't good behaviour"
"I know"
"Well that's all I was saying, if you were Rebecca's age it wouldn't be a problem because she doesn't know any different, but you do mrs and so everyone excepts you to act like a big girl"
"I'm sorry"
"Okay well we'll say no more about it then, but I don't expect a repeat or they'll be trouble"
"What sort of trouble?" Lily said immediately sounding afraid "like you'll hit me or something"
Rachel sighed immediately softening to her
"No sweetheart, not like that at all, haven't you learnt by now that hitting people isn't what we don't this house"
"But you said they'd be trouble and that's what daddy used to say before he ..." Lily said but her voice trailed off
Rachel took her hand and led her through to her room and put lily on her knee
"Lily you must know by now I'd never lay a finger on you, no matter how naughty what you've done is"
"Yeah but sometimes I get scared"
"Don't be scared of me lily, the worst I'll ever do is shout a bit and that's a promise, but I don't even have to do that with you very often do I"
Lily shook her head, she couldn't really think of many times where she'd been In big trouble here, even when she had done something wrong Rachel didn't ever stay cross for too long and she never got scary
"Okay so are you going to go and play with Rebecca for a bit then"
Lily nodded and went upstairs
Rachel smiled to herself as she saw her go up.
Rosie was sat in the living room, she was feeling very on edge but they hadn't said anything to her yet.
In fact they seemed to have been really nice to her, she began to think maybe this was all over and Amy had decided to leave her alone
Amy and Kayleigh started having a conversation about boys in there year, Rosie didn't say anything but was happy to just listen to them talk
"So Rosie who do you like?" Amy asked
"Erm no one not really" Rosie said blushing a bit
"Come on there must be someone" Kayleigh pushed
Rosie stopped to think for a moment, it was true at the moment there wasn't really anyone she liked but she didn't want to sound boring in front of them, she could only think of one boy who she knew they would know, he was the one of the most popular boys and he was in 9 Rosie knew in reality he would never go out with her, Rosie was a very pretty girl and wasn't exactly quiet at school but she'd never really been in with the most popular people in her year, not that this really bothered her ever
"I suppose there's this one boy" she said still feeling a bit uncomfortable "sam Ryan's"
"Oh my god as in the really hot one in our year"
"Yeah"
"And he's asked you out"
"well yeah he did today actually, he's so lovely to me"
"Aw that's so cute as if he's going out with someone in your year though"
"Well he said I look older for my age" Rosie lied
They continued talking about it for ages and Rosie suddenly felt more and more relaxed, it seemed maybe Amy had decided to leave her alone now
By the time Kayleigh went home that evening Rosie felt happier than she'd been for ages, it felt so good to be able to finally relax knowing she didn't have to be scared of Amy anymore
Rosie was walking upstairs when suddenly she bumped into Amy
"Sorry Hun"
"It's okay"
"Rosie I'm sorry for being a bitch to you over the last week, I've just been stressing with school and boys you know"
"It's fine I don't mind"
"Well I really am sorry" Amy said before walking off
Rosie smiled it felt nice not to have to go straight to her bedroom to hide away
She went into the playroom where lily was laid on the sofa sucking her thumb, however she took it out of her mouth as soon as Rosie saw, as she didn't want her to tell Rachel because she'd normally tell her off for it.
"Are you tired lily"
"No but no one will play with me and I need two people to play my game"
"I'll play with you"
"Really" lily said sounding pleased
Rosie nodded so lily went straight into her room to get it.
Rosie spent ages playing with lily however eventually Rachel came in
She smiled when she saw the two of them especially with Rosie looking so happy
"Lily it's time to pop in the bath" she said
"Oh but me and Rosie were playing"
"I know it looks like you were having fun but it's school tomorrow and it's getting late so come on"
Reluctantly lily went through and got in the bath with Rebecca
As it was getting late Rebecca was getting a bit ratty and this always made her act up a bit, she wouldn't let Rachel wash her hair and Kept kicking lily
"Oww Rebecca kicked me really hard and it hurts"
"Rebecca stop that" she said firmly "you've got to learn to be a good girl even when you are tired"
"I don't want to be good and I'm not tired" Rebecca said before splashing a load of water over the side
Rachel rolled her eyes she really could be hard work when she got like this
"Rebecca I mean it stop it" Rachel said
She gave Rebecca a quick wash before pouring water over Lily's head, however Rebecca was still being really silly so She decided to get her out
"Right out, I'm not having you being all daft" Rachel said "lily I'll call Amy in to finish wash your hair I'll be 5 minutes"
"No" Rebecca said before bursting into tears
Rachel knew this was just because she was tired so picked her up and took her through to her bedroom to very quickly dry her hair off.
"Right go for a wee and brush your teeth"
"No" Rebecca shouted
"Stop being difficult, you're not a baby"
"I don't want to"
Rachel sighed before getting her toothbrush and brushing her teeth for her despite a lot of protesting
"Go to the toilet Rebecca"
"No I'm not going"
"Fine if you want to act like a baby that's your choice, now let me put your nappy on"
"No"
"Yes Rebecca, now come on behave yourself" Rachel said before putting a nappy on her
Rebecca then suddenly ran off and went downstairs
"Rebecca" Rachel shouted
When she didn't come back, Rachel got up and went downstairs
she saw Rosie at the bottom
"Have you seen Rebecca anywhere?"
"Yeah she ran into the living room, why did she just have her nappy on?"
"Because she's a being a pain in the butt that's why"
Once Rachel saw Rebecca sat with the tv on she went over and practically dragged her upstairs
"If you don't stop this right now young lady they'll be no chocolate for the entire weekend"
This was a threat that seemed to work a bit and Rebecca did seem to calm down and let Rachel put her pyjamas on
"Into bed please" she said but she still sounded a bit firm because she didn't want Rebecca to think she could get away with it that easily, as the last thing she wanted was Rebecca becoming all bratty.
Rebecca got in straight away feeling quite upset now
"Now night night I'll see you in the morning"
"auntie Rachel I'm thirsty" Rebecca said
"Go to sleep Rebecca" she said firmly
Rachel then went out and turned her light off before shutting the door
She walked across the landing and into the bathroom where Amy was washing Lily's hair
"Thanks for doing that love"
"It's okay" Amy said before sauntering off
Rachel then went over to lily
"Mummy I'm tired"
"Well we can get you out the bath now and into bed"
Rachel helped her out and quickly got her hair dried and into pyjamas.
"Would you like some warm milk and a story or do you just want to go to sleep?"
"A story"
Rachel got her tucked into bed and then went down and got some milk before slipping in next to lily
Both Rachel and Lily always did like this time, when it was just the two of them
Lily sipped her milk as Rachel read to her but by the time Rachel had finished the chapter she was very tired
"Come on then my love sleep time I think" Rachel said as she could tell lily was falling asleep "we brushed your teeth in the bathroom didn't we?"
Lily nodded her head half asleep
"Do you need to go to the toilet?"
"No I went before" lily said because she was very tired now and couldn't be bothered getting up
"Are you sure?" Rachel asked
Lily nodded
"Right night then sweetheart I love you lots"
Lily didn't respond however as she'd already practically fallen asleep so Rachel smiled and flicked the light off
She was going to go down and watch some tv with Rosie but she heard crying from Rebecca's room so went in
She turned on the light and saw Rebecca sat up in bed sobbing, Rachel immediately felt bad, this was her real weakness she could never stay angry at the little ones for long especially when there was tears involved
"Rebecca what's wrong?" She asked going over and sitting on the bed
"You shouted"
"Yes because you were being very naughty weren't you? But it's all forgotten now, so come on lie back down and go to sleep"
"I'm sorry"
"It's okay come on you look very tired"
Rebecca got under her duvet and snuggled in
"Are you all comfy?"
"I'm still thirsty"
"Okay I'll nip and get some water in your cup then"
She went down and quickly filled it up for her and went back up
"There you go"
Rebecca took it and gulped it down
"Gosh you must have been thirsty" Rachel said "Are you ready to go to sleep now?"
"Is there any monsters in my bed?"
"Nope no monsters" Rachel said looking under Rebecca's bed because she knew she'd only worry otherwise
"Okay, night auntie Rachel"
"Night night remember I love you lots"
Once Rebecca was asleep she tiptoed out of the room and went downstairs where Rosie was watching tv
"Hey love mind if I join you?"
"No of course not"
Rachel sat down next to her
"You seem happy darling"
"Yeah I am I suppose" she said
Rachel put her arm around her so she could cuddle up properly, it felt nice for Rosie to have a proper cuddle without feeling on the verge of tears
"Sorry if I've been a pain" she said
"Don't de silly you haven't been a pain at all, just not your usual bubbly self so I've been a bit worried,but i take it everything's sorted itself out now?"
"Yeah it's weird I think I was just thinking into it a bit too far that's all"
"Well we all do that I suppose, though I'm glad everything seems okay in the end"
The two of them stayed downstairs for a couple of hours but then decided to go to bed
"Night and no staying up on that computer till ridiculous o clock okay"
"Okay" Rosie said laughing
Though as soon as Rachel left it go to bed she went on
She'd been on there for ages and everyone else was fast asleep, she knew it was probably time for her to go to sleep too but decided to check her Facebook first
Rosie was surprised when she saw how many notifications she had.
Confused, she clicked on one which led her to a video, she saw it was Amy that had posted it and didn't take her long to realise it was a video of her.
Fear began to flood through her and when she clicked on it she saw that Kayleigh and Amy had
Taken a video of her talking about same earlier, tears brimmed in her eyes when she looked at all the comments, quite a lot of people had said some really awful stuff about her, her eyes glanced towards a bit between sam and Amy, were both of the them were taking the mick out of her and Amy had even said she was an ugly little freak.
Suddenly Rosie felt like she was going to be sick, they were decorating her bathroom so she had to run downstairs and to the main bathroom on the middle floor as tears ran down her face.
As soon as she got there she locked the door and burst into floods of tears
Lily woke up suddenly, she'd had a bit of a funny dream about swimming in a river but when she woke up she realised she was desperate for the toilet having not been before hand
She ran out of bed and dashed to the bathroom but realised someone was in so started banging on the door
"Hurry I really need to go" lily said sounding panicky
Hearing all the noise Rachel woke up and got out of bed and went across the landing to see what all the fuss was about
"Lily what are you doing making all this noise at this time of night"
"I really have to go" lily said nearly in tears
"Whose in there?"
"I don't know"
"Quickly run to my bathroom then" Rachel said
Lily ran to Rachel's bathroom and just made it
"Are you okay lily?" Rachel called "did you make it?"
"Yes" lily said
"Good girl"
Rachel walked in as lily was washing her hands
"Now you can't tell me you went before bed"
"I didn't" lily admitted
"Well when I tell you to go it's for a reason isn't it? So you don't wake up at midnight having to get out of your nice warm bed"
"I had a dream I was swimming in a big lake"
"Well often dreaming about water when you need a wee isn't a good sign, now come on back to bed mrs and no more waking me up with banging on doors loudly"
"Okay"
When she took lily back to bed she saw the bathroom door was still closed she knew it must be Rosie or Amy as Rebecca would never get up to go to the loo
When they still hadn't come out by the time she'd put lily back to bed she went over and knocked gently
"Who's in there, is everything alright" she asked
When she listened more carefully she could hear someone crying
"Rosie is that you?" She asked gently "open the door and come out sweetheart"
She have her a moment or so but when she sill didn't get a response she opened the door
She found Rosie sat against the bath sobbing her heart out and looking very afraid and fragile
"Rosie" she whispered before kneeling down beside her "what on earths happened, come on tell me what's gone on"
"I..I can't" Rosie stammered
Rachel helped her up and started walking her up back to her room deciding it would be better for them to talk In there and not in the bathroom
When they got to her room Rosie realised she'd left her computer on she knew she couldn't let Rachel see so darted towards it and closed the lid but Rachel could see something had obviously happened
"Right you were fine before you went to bed and now you're like this, something tells me that laptops got something to do with it, pass it here"
"Rachel no..."
"Rosie pass it here" she said again determined to get to the bottom of it
Her hands shaking Rosie passed it to Rachel
She opened it up and went on her search history to find out what she was last on
"Rachel please don't..." Rosie begged but Rachel had already opened it up
She watched the video, while she was watching Rosie felt so embarrassed she felt she wanted the floor to swallow her whole
Rachel was silent as she read through each of the comments although there was more than a hundred of them altogether
"And Amy uploaded this did she?" Rachel said feeling furious with her
"You can't tell her off" Rosie said crying
"Tell her off? By the time I'm done with her she'll be.."
"No you can't"
"Don't you try and protect her when she's done this to you, what was she thinking" she said "was it just earlier that she was taking this"
Rosie nodded her head
"Wait till I get my hands on her p, I've got a good mind to drag her out of bed right now" Rachel said "in fact you know that's exactly what I'm going to do"
"No" Rose begged
Rachel ignored her and marched across to Amy's room
"Wake up" she called
Eventually Amy stirred and she got a shock when she saw her aunt stood there
"What the hell do you want, it's 12:30" she said
"Get up"
Amy rolled her eyes before getting out of bed and following Rachel up to Rosie's room
"What's this about Rachel" Amy sighed as they went in
She saw Rosie crying her eyes out and figured she must have told Rachel
Rachel went over to her laptop and played the video
"How could you do that to Rosie?" She said sounding really angry now
"I didn't do that" Amy said
"And lying isn't going to help you either, I've never been more disappointed in you before, it's disgraceful" she shouted
"Like I said I didn't do it"
"So who did"
"Kayleigh had my phone earlier she must have put it up"
"And all the comments?"
"Well I didn't write them did I, god it's annoying that you actually think I could do that, do you not trust me at all, I'm close with Rosie aren't i?"
"So Kayleigh did it all"
"Yep I'll make sure I have a go at her for it tomorrow though"
"Well maybe you should think about who you're friends are Amy, I don't want you hanging round with Kayleigh if she's going to do this sort of thing, and you better be telling me the truth about you having no idea about this"
"I am I promise, I wouldn't have let her put it up, god she is a cow at times"
"Delete it off your account please"
Amy sighed before going over and deleting the video
"and I mean it Kayleigh must be a pretty nasty piece of work if she does this type of thing, I don't want you having anything more to do with her is that clear"
"Crystal, are you okay Rosie I'll make sure she pays for it"
"Yeah" Rosie stammered though already she felt terrified the fact that she'd got away with it just showed how clever Amy was and she'd never be able to tell on her, not ever.
"Can I go back to bed now Rach?"
"Yeah" Rachel replied
As soon as Amy had gone Rachel sat down next to Rosie and gave her a big cuddle
"Now don't you worry sweetheart, no ones going to say anything at school it'll all be forgotten in a couple of days I promise"
"No it won't, everyone saw" Rosie sobbed
"That doesn't matter, this sam should feel flattered having a beautiful girl like you like him" Rachel comforted
She kept on trying to calm her down for ages, although Rosie knew most of what she was saying wasn't one bit true it helped hearing Rachel say it all the same
Eventually she felt quite a bit better and drifted off to sleep so Rachel tucked her in before creeping out.
About 20 minutes later Amy got out of bed and went up to Rosie's room
She woke her up really quickly and when she saw Amy stood there fear flooded through Rosie
"You're going to pay for this you little shit" she said
"Im sorry I didn't mean for her to see" Rosie stammered
"From now on you're life isn't going to be worth living"
"Please don't hurt me" she whimpered as tears fell down her face
"By the time we're done with you tomorrow..." Amy said "and you know what the best part of it is you're never going to be able to blame me for it, you know why? I've got Rachel wrapped round my little finger"
Amy then laughed before walking out
Rosie burst into tears, she was shaking slightly and felt all sick again though there was no way she was getting out of bed
She stayed awake the entire night with her duvet wrapped round her
By the time morning came round she felt really Ill from worrying so much
Rachel came in to wake her at about 7 she knew she couldn't go to school today so she'd have to convince her she was poorly
"Morning sweetheart" Rachel said "Gosh you look awful, are you feeling okay"
"I feel really sick and tired" Rosie said truthfully
"How are you feeling about you know...what happened"
"Okay I guess" Rosie said though she wasn't, she just knew if she told Rachel this she'd assume this was why she didn't want to go to school
"Good, it will be okay you know" she said "you really don't look very well"
"I don't feel well"
"Maybe you shouldn't go in today, not if you're poorly" Rachel said she knew part of this would be Rosie worrying but she really didn't think it was fair to send her in when she was so upset and she really didn't look very well either
Rosie was glad that she could stay off as at least no one could get her at school
"Do you want to come into work with me darling, you could sit quietly in the medical room all day"
"Can't I stay home?"
"Well I don't really want to leave you alone all day love"
"I'd be okay"
Rachel sighed she didn't want to leave her but it would be very boring sat in the medical room all day
"Well I'll come over at lunch then, and I'll try and finish a bit earlier if I can"
"I'll be fine"
Rachel then made sure Amy was up before going into waking lily
"Mummy I don't want to wake up yet"
"I know but you have to I'm afraid my love, it's school"
Reluctantly lily got out of bed and started getting changed
"that dream I had last night was really weird"
"What the one where you dreamt you were swimming"
"No, I had another where this massive chicken was chasing me"
"What is it with you and all these bizarre dreams you always seem to have ?" She said laughing
"I don't know"
Once lily was changed she went out and made breakfast for everyone
They all came down a few minutes later but Rosie insisted she wasn't hungry so Rachel let her stay up in her room
"Auntie Rachel I don't want to go to my playgroup today, I want to stay with you" Rebecca said
"Playing a load of games all day, yeah you must be dreading it...now get that breakfast eaten up young lady"
Once everyone had eaten there breakfast Rachel quickly cleaned up before getting their shoes on
"Rebecca hurry up" Rachel called
When Rebecca still didn't come down she went upstairs and realised she wasn't in her room
"Rosie love have you seen Rebecca?"
"Bathroom I think"
"Ah okay, are you sure you'll be fine here"
"Yep"
"Right give me a call if you need anything I'll be up around lunch"
"Okay"
Rachel then went across to the bathroom and knocked on the door
"Rebecca are you nearly done?"
"Yes"
"Okay, make sure you wash your hands properly, then come downstairs"
Once Rebecca was done they all got in the car and drove to school
It was lunchtime and Rosie had literally stayed in bed most of the day crying, she'd never felt like this before and she didn't know what to do about it.
She was curled up in bed when suddenly she heard the front door open, at first she thought it was just Rachel as she had said she'd come
Suddenly she heard footsteps coming up the stairs only it sounded like a lot more than one person
She'd barely had time to think when suddenly her bedroom door swung open and there was Amy and all of her friends
"Oh there she is"
"Please don't hurt me" Rosie said
"I think you owe Kayleigh an apology" Amy said "because of you, she's not allowed round here anymore"
"I didn't mean to"
"You told a whole load of tales on her and we want to see that you're really sorry"
"What do you want me to do"
"Hold out your arm"
Shaking Rosie held it out for them
Kayleigh quickly lit up a cigarette and pressed it firmly against Rosie's skin
Rosie yelped out in pain
"Now we promised sam a nice picture of you, thought it would be a bit of fun to stick it all round school, so are you going to give us one?"
Rosie didn't know what to do except nod her head
"Take your top off then"
"No I can't do that" Rosie said however then one of the girls hit her hard across the face, she couldn't tell properly but she was sure her lip was bleeding
Rosie realised she didn't have any other choice but to do as they asked
They stayed for about another 15 minutes and by the time they finally left Rosie was sat shaking violently, tears streaming down her face, she finished up being sick all over her bed.
Rachel was about to set off to go and check on Rosie when suddenly her mobile rang, when she answered she realised it was Rebecca's okay group saying she'd got all upset and needed to come home
She felt a bit worried so quickly drove there and went in
As soon as Rebecca saw her she ran and put her arms round her aunt
"What's happened love?"
Rebecca didn't say anything just continued crying
"She got upset when we were talking about mums and dads"
"Oh dear, well thanks for calling I'll take her home now"
Rachel walked out with Rebecca and got in the car
Rebecca stayed very quiet as they were driving home and Rachel decided not to lush her for now as she didn't want her getting all upset again
"Are you okay Rebecca?" She asked gently
"Yes, I'm sorry"
"What for darling?"
"Making you come and get me"
"Oh that's no bother my love, I'm on my way to check up on Rosie anyway"
Once they'd pulled up Rachel went to unlock the door but realised it was already unlocked. This surprised her as she was sure she'd locked it this morning but didn't think much of it
"Rosie" Rachel called "come downstairs sweetie"
When Rosie didn't come she went up and opened her door
She took a step back when she saw her, her lip was cut open and she was shaking, crying silently.
