Mimi was trying to hold it together for her daughter Rebecca's sake. Her father, the president, was a fighter, that's what she told Rebecca. But everyone had their limits, he was no different. Seeing him lying on the ground, all that blood, Mimi was never more scared. Mimi's mother Sharon and brother Jed were in the waiting area as well. Jed's on/again off/again girlfriend Zoey had called him, tried to help him through this. Right now the Mason family were supporting each other through this crises, while Secret Service stood by silently. Mimi feared they would all quickly turn on against her when they learned the truth, even Rebecca. Not that she could blame them. What was she thinking? Mimi asked herself that question, but she knew the answer. She did this to protect her child, the one she loved the most. The president swore he would not go into the Arks himself, so Mimi figured she was only depriving him of a few years of life. At least that's what she told herself. If Pierce ended up with Sharon, that was their business. But when Mason was actually shot, it all became real, and all her sins finally hit her. Mimi had conspired with Pierce to murder her own father, assasinate the president. He had promised her the technology could block who's phone sent him the text. Maybe that was true, maybe she would have to pretend around her family for the rest of her life. Or maybe she was merely putting off the inevitable, and they would arrest and execute her soon. But maybe, just maybe, this would get Rebecca into the Arks. If it did, it would all be worth it.
