Chapter Four.
The hotel TV blared out 'Sweet Transvestite', a smirking Tim Curry dressed in drag belted out the alluring sound. Paul snorted as he looked up from his sandwich, almost swallowing the whole thing in one gulp. I sat next to Jared on the pullout couch bed, a huge bowl of popcorn between us.
"I love this part." He exclaimed as the scene changed to the laboratory, with Tim now clothes in a green lab coat and a pair of matching pink gloves.
"I have a pair of those gloves in the stuff I have packed."
"Seriously?!" I nodded even though he couldn't see me and inhaled another handful of popcorn.
"It cost me a months' worth of rent." I paused as Tim starting making his speech. "I have a nasty scar on my back in the shape of a belt buckle my Uncle owned." Suddenly the TV screen paused mid applause, and Jared and I looked over at the woman that sat at the dining table, the remote clenched in her hand. Leah's face flushed red, her brow furrowing into deep groves in her forehead.
"What do you mean a belt buckle?" Everyone looked down at me as I held another handful of popcorn to my mouth. I felt my heart start to pound in my chest. Way to put me on the spot, Leah. Thanks so much.
"I-uh-"
"What did she do to you, Breanna?"
"I really don't want to talk about it right now." I dropped the popcorn back in the bowl and pushed myself off the bed, making my way to the bathroom. The mood was ruined and one of my favorite movies was forgotten. Thanks again, Leah. I grunted in frustration as my behind hit the toilet seat, teeth clenching together. Why can't we just forget that any of that happened? Is it really that hard? My eyes stared down at my bruised wrists and I sighed. Especially when I'm reminded of it every time I look at my arms.
"Breanna?" Someone knocked. "Breanna, let me in."
"I don't want to talk right now, Leah."
"I didn't mean to upset you."
"I know." She sighed.
"Could you let me in, then?" A dinging sound rang through the room. I ignored Leah and pulled out my phone. "Breanna, please."
"Just give me a sec." She sighed again.
"Alright. Don't fall in." Haha, very funny. Another text buzzed as I checked the first message. From Unknown Number. What the-
I'm out, baby. Did you miss me, Bre Bre?
No, no. It can't be. Fuck, no. This can't be happening. Maybe it's just a trick. I checked the second message.
I'll teach you to get me locked up, stupid bitch. Just you wait.
The phone dropped to the floor as my phone buzzed again and again. My hands were shaking and my throat was dry. No, no. He can't be out. I slowly picked up my phone again to check a new text.
I'm going to fucking kill you when I find you.
"No!" I threw my phone across the room and it smashed, my legs giving out as I fell to my knees. My chest was tight and tears ran down my face. Images flashed in my head as I remembered his hands all over me. I screamed again and wrapped my arms around me tightly, trying hard not to lose my shit but failing miserably.
"Breanna?" Leah pounded on the door. "Breanna, open up!"
"No, leave me alone!" My mouth felt raw. "Get away from me." Another three texts flooded in. My head knocked against the tiles as I fell forward, warmness running down a reopened cut. The bathroom disappeared, the darkness of my bedroom pulling me back in. He stood there, fists clenched, a large smile on his face.
"Breanna!" Someone echoed in the distance. It was so far away, I couldn't figure out where it was coming from. "Breanna, god dammit, open the fuck up now!" He dropped to his knees in front of me, and out of nowhere his fist collided with the back of my head. I felt dizzy and tired, and as I tried to drag myself away from the numerous fists I was pulled back, my lip busted open from a punch to the jaw. "Breanna!"
"Nobody is going to save you now." He leaned his mouth to my ear, his warm breath making me shiver. "You're mine, Bre Bre. Nobody is going to take my precious girl away from me."
"Leave me alone, Will. Please." I gasped out as he kissed my cheek. Tears ran down my cheek and my stomach felt like it was going to explode. Somebody, please help me. I can't do this on my own. Jared, Leah. Paul. Somebody please. "Please let me go. I won't press charges."
"That's what you said last time." Will slapped me again, his eyes narrowed in disgust. "You disobeyed me and caused me to punish you."
"I didn't do anything!" He grabbed my face and forced it close to his.
"You made me do this." Will crushed his lips against mine and kissed me. I didn't kiss back, leaning my tongue away from his invading one. "But I forgive you, baby. I always do."
"Breanna, we're coming in!" The voices echoed throughout the room as he kissed down my neck, grabbing me and holding me close to him. Tears ran down my face. They'll never get here in time. I'm across town for fucks sake. I choked out a sob as one of his hands found my breast, using my strength to try and push him off. He didn't even move.
Suddenly the door was crashed in. The room fizzled away.
I was back on the bathroom floor shaking and clutching at myself for dear life, face crushed against the tiles covered in blood that drained from my head. Leah stood over me, trying to touch me as I flinched away. The room spun around me. I'm gonna get sick, I'm gonna get sick. This elliptical shit isn't funny at all.
"She looks like she's gonna get sick." Jared exclaimed, worried eyes staring black pits into my soul. My phone beeped again and it felt like my heart stopped. A wave of vomit flew out of me like a cannonball, covering the floor and almost getting Leah.
"I think I know why she's acting like this." Paul grabbed the cracked phone off the wall and crushed it in his hand like it was nothing, the broken pieces falling to the floor and cracking into even smaller fragments.
"Dude, why'd you crush her phone?"
"Someone texting her is obviously setting her off." He rolled his eyes at Jared who stared there dumb founded. "I just took care of the problem. You're welcome."
"Now that crisis has been vanquished, I guess we have nothing to worry about."
"Besides the fact that she's covered in her own blood and vomit. You might want to clean her up before showing her to her father." I breathed in deeply as my shaking started to calm down, blinking a few times. "And seriously dude, vanquished? Where are you from, the eighteen hundreds? Did you just slay the evil Android dragon?"
"I just wanted to use a cool word, geeze. You do it all the time and I don't give you shit about it."
"Guys!" Leah's voice broke through their rant as she motioned to me. "We kind of have a situation, so could you leave your stupid vocabulary war for later it'd be greatly appreciated." As she started to heave me up I pushed her hands away.
"I can do it myself."
"I'd believe you more if you hadn't just had a mental breakdown and you weren't covered in your own upchuck." I rolled my eyes and pushed her hands away again.
"Come on-"
"No, I'm bathing you. End of discussion."
"But Leah-"
"No buts!" She turned to the guys with a fierce look in her eye. "You guys can clean up this mess while we're bathing in Jerry's bathroom. We can order pizza afterwards," She turned to me with a small smile on her face, teeth bright and white and shining. "And we can watch a movie that isn't The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Her tan arms wrapped around me under my armpits, heaving me until I was leaning against her on my feet. My legs felt wobbly, knees knocking against each other as they shook.
"I'm gonna go call room service-"
"You think money grows on trees, Cameron?" I looked over at her with a confused look. Cameron? I thought his name was Jared. She sighed and sat me down onto the toilet seat. "That's his last name." She turned back to him, shaking vomit off of her hand. "Anyway, we can't afford that. We have just enough to get back to La Push without starving. You guys are going to clean this mess up."
"Yes sir." Jared saluted her and walked out of the room, Paul following slowly behind. Leah turned around back to face me, her dark eyes going soft as she looked down at me.
"Dominic should be back soon." Dominic, I thought. Such long hair and such a cute one-sided dimple.
"Where'd he go?" I coughed before I spoke again, clearing my throat. "Why'd he leave in such a rush?"
"That's just his way. He gets anxious when he's around people he doesn't really know." My face flushed. Shit, wow, good going Breanna. Ruining somebody else's night. Leah pulled off her shirt and gave me a look, tugging off her tank top too. "Don't do that."
"Do what?" She motioned for me to put my arms up. When I did so she yanked off my own shirt and tank top.
"Blame yourself for something you can't control. It's not going to do you any good." She yanked down her shorts and then my jeans. She left me to pull off my own socks. Picking up the pile of clothes, she sat them by the vomit. She ran a hand through her long hair. "Believe me, I know from experience." Jared took the opportunity to walk in just as she pulled me up against her.
"Shit!" He covered his eyes with both of his hands. "I thought you guys were showering in Jerry's room."
"It's easier to get rid of the nasty clothing then track it to his room. We'd give the old man a heart attack."
"And coming in naked won't?" Slowly we made our way past him, my feet barely doing any of the work.
"Not as much as coming in covered in vomit will."
AN: I hope you guys enjoyed this chapter, because I enjoyed writing it! I was conflicted at where to go with this chapter, but I like where its ended up. Its not as long as the other chapters, but it'll do. A lot of things that you might be confused about will be answered in the next chapter (hopefully!). Well, Happy Reading!
