Chapter Five.
I never thought that I would be in this situation, leaning against the wet shower wall butt naked with a Native American girl washing me down. Did I mention she was butt naked too?
"You're a lucky girl, Breanna." She ran a hand through her long, wet black hair as I turned the shower off. I peered up at her through tired eyes, my brow furrowing. Has Leah Clearwater has fallen off her rocker?
"How do you mean?"
"If the guys hadn't gotten there sooner, you would have been-" She cut herself off, pulling the shower curtain open and stepping out. I closed my eyes as she turned around, not wanting to risk seeing her boobs again. I didn't want to through that a second time in one night. "Sorry, I know you don't want to talk about it right now. I don't blame you." Her voice was softer now, comforting. "Let's just forget about it."
"Agreed." I whispered as she helped me out of the tub so I wouldn't slip, handing me a powder blue towel. "I think I can get dressed by myself now." I rasped out as I coughed. Leah nodded wrapping another towel around her long hair before handing me another.
"Are you sure?" I nodded and looked down at my legs, cringing at the large gash on my calf. Thank god mom had dumped Rolly. Leah made her way across the tile floor and opened the bathroom door I followed quickly after, walking past my crippled father lying on the bed. His face brightened instantly when he saw me, a wide grin placed on his features. I looked down sadly at his cast. All my fault.
"Thanks for letting us use your bathroom, Jerry!"
"Anytime, Leah. I'll be heading to bed soon, so I'll see you guys in the morning, okay?" We both nodded. "Love you, Breanna." I smiled at him halfheartedly.
"Love you too, dad." The cool air of the hallway caused goose bumps to explode all over my skin, and I shivered.
"Are you cold?"
"No, the air conditioning actually warms my skin. The goose bumps mean I'm overheating."
"Don't be a smart ass." I could hear the smile in her voice even as she said this. After a few more freezing steps we were finally back to the cream colored door of our hotel room, the black numbers hanging limply against the paint. "Hey boys, open up! We didn't bring the room key!"
"Come in, ladies. Your pjs and pizza dinner awaits!" Jared waved us quickly inside, motioning to Paul to hand him a DVD in his hand.
"I thought I was going to be the one to show them." Paul whined, brow furrowing. Jared sighed and rolled his eyes, hand still open.
"You got to pick it out while I had to clean up vomit. Hand it over."
"Fine!" He sighed and threw the DVD to Jared who grinned down at him.
"Now that I have your attention, I'd like to present-"
"Jared, just hurry up and finish. This towel is causing my ass to chafe." I giggled as he and Leah glared at each other.
"I would be able to if you'd shut your pie-hole!"
"Paul was the one that wouldn't give you the DVD!" I shivered as the fan blew across my skin, and I rolled my eyes at their argument. I'm not freezing over here or anything. "Sorry to cut this short but we've gotta go get on our pajamas." Thank god for Leah.
"But what about the-"
"Show us when we're done, Jared!" She grabbed the pjs two pairs of pjs on the couch and grabbed my wrist, pulling me into the bathroom. I sat down on the toilet seat of the now clean bathroom, cringing as Leah dropped her towel almost immediately.
"Whoa, Leah. Not on the first date." I covered my eyes with my hands.
"Shut up." I waited a minute or two before uncovering my eyes, watching as her long hair fell down her shoulders and over the cotton tank top." Okay, let's get you clothed." My nerves spiked.
"I thought I said I didn't need help," I stammered as she made a grab for the front of my towel, holding it tightly against me. She couldn't see my scars. She looked down at me with a confused expression.
"Breanna," Leah made another grab for the towel, missing by a centimeter as I threw myself off of the toilet seat. "Breanna, just let me help you so we can go-"
"No! Don't touch me!" Her brown eyes widened as she took in my panicked expression. Great job, Bre. She doesn't suspect a thing probably. I took a deep breath before speaking again. "Just don't touch me, okay? I can do it myself. I am perfectly capable.
"Bre-"Leah narrowed her eyes at me but stopped herself when she saw that she couldn't change my mind. My hand clenched the front of the towel close to my body, breathing in and out heavily. "Okay, okay. Calm down. I'll be out there with Jared and Paul. Just call if you need anything." I nodded as she shut the door behind her, breathing out a relieved sigh. Thank God, I thought I was going to endure another breakdown. Slowly, I attempted to pull myself up. Instead, I landed straight on my ass.
"Come on, you idiot. All you have to do is get dressed." I had walked to the room without any problem, what was going on now? Again, I tried and after a few more attempts I succeeded, pulling on my blue pj pants last. I looked at the closed door as a sudden wave of nervousness hit me. What if she said I freaked out?,
