Chapter six:

"And you're… here for some reunion?" Steve asked with a cocked brow as Rose rolled her own. The blond sat down on the couch and looked at all the clippings and newspapers before her. Steve sighed and slipped down onto the couch next to her. Rose was silent as she let her hands drift over the paper.

"Is this everything?" She whispered as she snatched up a scrap of paper and held it up to the light.

"Everything I could find on you and your sister through the ages. Natasha is going through a little bit more." Steve answered as he looked up to Coulson who carried a tray of coffee and sweets. Rose settled content on the outside of Coulson who embedded himself between the two.

"There's got to be some kind of hint or paper trail of this person." Her voice was low and dark. "A threat like this doesn't just pop up. They have to be around since before my sister and I." She added as she put the paper back down and took up a cup of coffee softly. Coulson flipped through the files that SHIELD had on Rose and Annabell. Steve looked over the woman then to Coulson who didn't seemed bothered by her at all.

"What is it again we're looking for?" He prodded.

"An enemy to my sister and my legacy. I can't have her murdered just because she's pregnant." Rose stated point blank as she leaned over Coulson's shoulder as he pulled out a paper for her to see.

"Whoa! Pregnant?" Steve blurted out.

"Yes, that thing that women do when they have unprotected sex with men." Rose's snark only brought a glare from Steve.

"Oh, and I bet you're going to say it's Loki's as well." He sassed back with a roll of his eyes. Only Rose looked up and cocked a brow at him and he shook his head. "Seriously? She works fast." Steve grumbled.

"My sister has only ever wanted one thing. A family. True love, kids, the whole thing, she could care less if she did it as a human or as a Throne. " Rose explained. She shifted back in her seat, her blond hair fallen to her side as she read a small report. Her eyes narrowed on the text. It spoke of a cloaked creature that followed her and her sister around as children. The creature was always in the shadows and from the fuzzy picture, seemed to have more than five fingers per hand.

"Phil." Rose stated softly. "Is it all possible, that this threat didn't come from earth. That it originated… somewhere else?" Her fingers traced the picture of the creature. Coulson looked over her shoulder at the image.

"I wouldn't be surprised in the least." Steve stated with a yawn that he had tried to stifle for the longest time.

"I need to go home… I have a small hunting expedition to go on." Rose jumped to her feet, not before she pressed a kiss to Coulson's cheek. "Call for me if you find anything. I have to wait till the full moon to work the oracle's magic, I need some information before I even touch it."

Annabell sat on a bench outside in the chill of the morning. The sun was behind golden clouds and for some reason she could find no good in them. Her stomach hurt incredibly and she felt far too nauseous for this to be a good thing. But every time she felt like she would hurl her innards into the grass nearby, she was reminded of the man who assist her to this state. Loki. Her eyes drifted up to the court yard where he and Odin sat, Thor spoke softly to the two of them. They were at a stone table, and they spoke so softly, not even the wind could carry their words.

"You truly love him." Annabell jumped in her bones and her hands flew to her mouth to keep the bile of surprise from falling out. Frigga grinned softly as she slid in next to Annabell on the bench, one light touch along the back of her exposed spine and the sickness was gone. A breath of relief filled her mouth as she looked to the golden woman beside her.

"How did you do that?" She gasped, her fingers and hands trembled slightly.

"Who did you think taught Loki magic?" She chuckled before she began to lightly rub Annabell's back. "The first few weeks are the hardest. But once you're past that, it's… so much easier." She added with a light smile. Annabell leaned into her hands and before she knew how to stop herself, she was enveloped in Frigga's arms. The golden feeling of health and sanity fell over her bones and pulled her down into something she vaguely knew as bliss.

"You're fantastic." Annabell whispered into the crook of Frigga's gown. "I haven't felt this healthy since I was in the water."

Frigga pulled back and cocked her head to the side. "Water? Is that your core?" Frigga's brows furrowed as Annabell smiled softly.

"My magic is a bit different then yours. I draw my power from elements. My sister, she was a fire. I'm water, I find all my power from an open ocean and during the full moon. It was when I was born. I am the most powerful under water." She explained softly. Without hesitation, Frigga yanked the two up to their feet and marched them from their positions. Annabell followed the queen without question, but her eyes followed Loki. He looked up instantly, his eyes looked to her then Frigga, but there was no worry.

That was all Annabell needed to know that she was not being played a fool. Thor even grinned and waved softly, but the Queen left little for the two to wave back to. Annabell was dragged rather fast down a cobblestone road and around a bend. The brunette took to panting as she finally came down the corner and steps after the Queen and stopped dead. They were at the base of a glistening ocean. What had felt like only a few yards seemed to be miles as Annabell looked out to water that flowed around the whole kingdom. It fell off on a cliff, where the rainbow bridge seemed to end, but Annabell couldn't help the draw.

Water…

She had been land locked for far too long.

Annabell grinned as she pulled the leather corset off and shrugged off the dress, left in only her cloth under garments and she bolted to the water. Frigga stood with her hands folded in front of her as Annabell dove down into the water.

Heaven. She was in a glistening, clear heaven around her. Sunk deeper and deeper by the waves, she spun slowly under the water to see animals of all sorts. Fish of unusual size and shape, it was like a child's coloring book. Bright and wild and everywhere, no boundaries, no rules. Annabell's lips curled up as she spun around, her feet kicked her higher in the water.

That's when the water grew dark. Her eyes turned just as her body turned toward the darkness. If a shark was ones worst nightmare in the ocean, this beast that barreled through the water towards her was the equivillant of that here in the water. The fish and creatures bolted and the sounds of Frigga pleading for her to come out were muffled by the water.

Annabell watched as this beast split into three creatures. They were blurs in the shadow of the water, hands reached out for her and she dodged them all. She would not be taken so easily. Besides… this was her territory! Gritted teeth and hands out, she felt it. The tug of her magic, the pull of her power.

As if she were given a dose of pure full moon power in her veins, she slapped her hands together. A pulse of water shot the creature directly in front of her through the water. She watched as the beast flung right off the edge of the water. Annabell shot up through the water.

The brunette broke the surface and gasped for air just as a hand snatched her ankle. A dark snarl came from her as she was yanked back underwater. A whip of her body, she spun so she was bent and faced the creature, her hands snagged it's slimy face. Pressure, she increased it and drove it down into the darkness. Harder and harder to breath, the creature's screams muffled by the water pressure, it's blood muddled the water.

The third creature was gone before she dragged herself up and onto the beach of the water.

"Are you… alright?" Frigga's worry was present, but Annabell was more angered than upset.

"Yes, I'm fine" Annabell whispered.

"You disappeared under there…"

"You figured if there were an immenant threat to my life, it would show where I find myself most comfortable?" Annabell shot as she looked up finally. Frigga held the third creature's remains by the cloth. It was utterly destroyed, her golden dagger the culprit of all of it's wounds.

"I apologize. I had meant you no harm." She whispered. "But I know something threatens you, and I will not have my grand child and their mother taken from me so easily." She smiled as she knelt down near the water.

"Like mother like son, I guess you taught him much more than just magic." Annabell whispered. "No need to apologize," Frigga left the creature at the water side and waved her hand over the carcus. It disappeared in a glitter of gold.

"I'll have my girls inspect it when we return. Here, we best dry you up, wouldn't want to miss breakfast because you're soaked to the bone." The woman smiled to Annabell who nodded slowly.

AUthor's notes: I'm sorry for the wait and that it's not longer. But I'm working through the writers block and this was all that came out. But it's so much needed.
