HELLO! This chapter feels rather lazy. All my laziness. Also, I spoke this, not typed it and then I went over it to fix everything but there is a chance that There are some typos and other stuff. Im gonna go ahead and skip review time. and fun facts. Feel's like there are a lot of, "Of course's". SO i'll be trying to avoid those for awhile. enough talking! just-
ONTO THE STORY!
"Mathew," I breathed a sigh of relief, "You really scared me there!"
He scratched the back of his head before muttering, "Sorry."
I stood up, wincing a bit as I did so, "Are you alright?"
"Yeah," He looked around as if expecting something to jump out at him, "Just rattled up a bit."
Well that's not surprising. Of course he was rattled up. I'm sure everyone was rattled up. I straightened my hat, thanking everything that was holy that it was there. My face itched due to the dried blood on it. I looked up at Mathew and realized that a certain clingy teacher was missing from his side.
"Where's Walter?" I asked, approaching the man.
Mathew grew a worried look on his face but simply shrugged, "I don't know. We got separated after things started getting chaotic."
"Don't worry," I took a deep breath in and out, "He knows where to find us."
"OH!" Mathew suddenly beamed, "Speaking of people, guess who else I found!"
I sighed, "I'm not in the mood for guessing games."
He didn't get the opportunity to answer. Kenny and Nick emerged from the bushes. They both look at me, taking two different expressions. One of relief and the other filled with anger. I dashed to Nick and hugged him. One of his hands rested by my head where his fingers played with my hair and a hand on my shoulder, which gave me a reassuring squeeze. I snuggled my face into his shirt. He moved his hand away from my shoulder and used it to lift my chin up.
"You had me worried," He said.
remembering his words from before, I smirked, "I thought it as your job to be worried."
"Good point," Nick chuckled as I left his embrace.
I looked over at Kenny, who gave me a cold stare. One that promised trouble. Alright, alright I get it. You're mad. I looked away and tried to not notice the glances he gave me. I looked up at Mathew, he seemed to notice this. Good thing he didn't say anything though. We all walked forward, making our way to the civil war museum. I stayed close to Nick, grabbing a hold of his hand just to make sure he was there. He did give me an odd look, but I ignored it.
After awhile, Mathew spoke from behind.
"You know," He raised his voice for all to hear, " It might be a good idea to get ourselves cleaned up so we don't small like death."
I looked down at myself, "He has a point."
"Yeah," Nick agreed. Nick looked ahead, still walking, "The stream that we all stopped at last time is just a little bit up ahead."
I piped up, "I remember that one!"
"Yeah," Nick smirked, "It was the one I pushed you in."
I threw the sly smile back, "And I took you down with me."
Both Nick and I couldn't help but laugh at this memory. And it feel good to laugh. It was hard to find times are you really laugh. I mean, like really laugh. Everything was always full of death, destruction, and other stupid stuff I couldn't even begin to tell you. And it also felt weird to laugh. I mean, I just saw two of my friends get devoured right in front of me and what could've been at most three hours ago, and I'm laughing right now. Kenny sure as hell isn't having fun and I'm sure Sarah is completely devastated.
I haven't even thought about Sarah. She must be absolutely heartbroken right now. Her father was everything to her. He was her savior, her only living parent her, her shield, the only thing she really even had left in this apocalyptic world. She must be freaking out right now she was just forced back into reality in the worst way possible.
Nick noticed my sudden quietness, "You alright, Clem!"
I shook my head to exit my trance. I looked back up at him and I gave a soft smile, "yeah Nick, I'll be fine don't worry about me. I was just thinking about Sarah."
His hand came at his face at this news. I could tell he was thinking the same thing I had thought just moments ago. He looked to the ground sadly with his only eye. He had a sad look in his face and I could tell that he was feeling rather bad at the moment. Probably thinking about Helena or Pete what happened to them. I wouldn't doubt it Nick thinks more than he lets on. The truth is he actually remembers everything. He's an idiot, but he's a smart idiot.
"Shit," he cursed, "I didn't even think about Sarah. I hope she's alright."
I simply shrugged not wanting to think about how she is right now. Thinking of Sarah only reminded me of the things I want to talk to Nick about. I'm still a little nervous about what he might think about the whole me and Sarah situation. But I sure as hell can't go to Kenny right now, seeing as how can he is really mad pissed at me. Not that I blame him, I did technically kill his girlfriend. I looked up and it nervously not knowing whether I should bring it up now or later. And my instincts told me later later would be good.
"How much longer until you're at the Civil War Museum?" I asked trying my best not to complain, "I don't remember it being this far from her Howe's last time."
"Well, last time, we were running." He pointed out, he looked ahead before saying, "Not to far from the stream though."
"Oh thank god!" Mathew dramatically gasped from behind.
this earned yet another chuckle from Nick and I. True to his word, Nick have led us back to the stream. Kenny was at a distance, washing himself in isolation, Matthew was practically rolling around in the water, And of course Nick and I (being Nick and I) were splashing water at each other. He told me to turn so that he could get my back and I happily obeyed, not wanting any of the guts on my body anymore. I figured now is good alone time for me and him, so I want decided to talk to him about Sarah now. So much for waiting till later, right?
I blushed lightly, now finding it hard to bring it up. I mean what am I supposed to say? "Hey, Nick," I blushed lightly, "Can I ask you something?"
He looked at me suspiciously and playfully, "What are you blushing about? You never blush. When you blush it scares me."
This only made my blush deepen. Thinking of how I was supposed to say this, I popped my neck. My eyes suddenly found my hands interesting and my feet played in the water, "Well, while you were gone, something happened."
"Something happened?" Nick raise an eyebrow, "What do you mean by something happened?"
"It's nothing bad. I mean I don't think it's bad," I muttered still playing with my fingers, "I mean-just- something happened."
"Keep me in suspense, why don't you?" Nick chuckled, trying to lighten the mood.
"Well," I stammered as I kept beating around the bush, "Sarah kissed me on the cheek."
"Alright," Nick said acting like I just told him nothing, which I was happy about, "I think girls are really affectionate with each other for some reason. Must be a female thing I wouldn't know, I'm not female."
"Since then she just-" I stumbled around on my words, "You know that feeling you get when you get butterflies in your tummy? And that feeling you get when a person's around in your face only feels all warm but you just don't want to leave? I finally had the courage to look up at him, Well I'm starting to get better and Sarah. And I don't know if that's normal or okay so I wanted to ask you.
Nick bit his bottom lip and I noticed his eyes light up, "Clementine it's not a problem what you're thinking. It just sounds like you have a crush on her though."
"Told you!" Matthew's voice boom from behind Nick, "I totally knew you would agree with me, Nick! When I see Walter he totally owes me some peaches and beans!
"Shut up Matthew!" I beamed even reader and hid behind my hat.
Soon after we all got to move on, walking back to the Civil War Museum. It was a long while until we got there. And of course, emotions were running rather low. Everyone is a bit depressed. When I asked Bonnie, she said that Luke Walter and Sarah were still missing they hadn't turned up. And of course I couldn't help but feel worry my gut. I mean, there could just been a few reasons as to why they hadn't shown up yet. They could just have had a slow walk in the herd or camping out for a day or so. I mean, there are so many things that could've happened there's no real reason to be worried yet.
Yes, It was Mathew, I built suspense on for no reason XD please don't hate me. No cliffhanger this time, sorry folks.
BATMAN (and Robin) OUT ;) (Jumps out of the scene with a black cape on and with PeanutFangirl at my side)
