Chapter 6: Team Seven Part 1
Authors Note (Naruto is over… crawls in bed and cries) I am reloading this chapter. As I reread it I noticed it was … Lacking. Sorry I took so long, but life, and stuff. Please follow my story if you enjoy it, and leave a review so I can improve. Sharing my story with others would also be greatly appreciated.
Kyuubi found herself conflicted as the young Naruto slept on her fur. While she was still an immensely powerful demon made of pure chakra, she found a small maternal side tended to come from within her when Naruto was involved. Though she would never admit that out loud.
'Will this kid wake up already?' thought the Kyuubi. 'Wait is he drooling? The little bastards drooling on me!' with a violent shake she threw Naruto off her fur causing the boy to wake up violently.
"What the hell you dumb fox?" yelled the blonde
"Don't what the hell me. You were drooling on me! ME! The great Nine tailed demon fox getting drooled on by some peasant child." Spoke the demon in irritation
Naruto could do nothing but just stare at the fox causing her to feel awkward for a moment. Naruto broke the awkward moment by laughing at the fox. While Naruto was laughing the fox was feeling annoyed by the boy.
"I am so glad you find this humorous…" spoke the fox with a voice dripping with sarcasm.
"Can you really blame me?" asked Naruto as the laughter died down
"I just drooled on the most powerful demon on the planet. Not many can say that. Besides consider it payback for….. Well you know." Naruto's mood had fallen quickly as he remembered all the pain the fox had caused him.
The Kyuubi let out a long sigh before speaking again. "Look kit I am sorry for what my former life has caused you, but trust me when I say this was not his first choice on how to live his life ,and is definitely not how I wanted to be born."
"What do you mean former life?" asked the boy
"Surely you have noticed I am nothing like the demon fox you were you were taught about in the academy." Responded the fox
'Hmm she's right. The fox that destroyed the village was male, and she is female. He was also orange, but only the tips of her tails are orange the rest of her is this piercing white.' Thought the boy
"Let me clear some things up for you." Spoke the demon as she began to explain herself.
"The fourth Hokage sealed my former life within you, and he lived in you all the years of your life until the day those idiot ANBU decided to carve the pentagram on your
Immediately the fox could sense a change in Naruto. His body language had shifted from relaxed to tense and defensive at the mention of the scar on his back.
"Make it stop please." Whispered Naruto
"What are you talking abou…"
"KAMI MAKE IT STOP! THEY ARE HURTING ME!" Naruto exploded in a moment of post-traumatic stress
Naruto began kicking and screaming as if he was still being tortured. The faces of his assailants vivid in his mind.
'That mark must be some type of trigger for the boy'
"Naruto. NARUTO you're not in danger. Naruto you're safe." The kyuubi was speaking to the boy trying to bring him out of his attack.
"No! MY BACK HURTS PLEASE STOP IM NOT A MONSTER IM NOT I SWEAR!" Naruto was hysterical at this point, and Kyuubi didn't know what she could do.
'Dammit! Centuries I have lived, and I can't bring a child out of a panic attack? Think what a human would do?' Kyuubi was desperate for an answer
"Sing for him." Spoke a voice that was oddly feminine.
"Whos there? How did you get here?" asked the demon fox.
"Sing for him." Spoke the voice but with purpose
"What are you talking about? I am not singing for this boy." Was the foxes response
"He will remain in pain as long as you remain stubborn you dumb fox. "The disembodied voice sounded disappointed, and sad.
'Damn'
The longer the fox watched Naruto struggle the more her resolve weakened.
"Fine! If it will help him snap out of it."
'Boy you owe me big time'
The Kyuubi began to sing "blue bird" by Ikimono Gakari
Her voice was soothing which a surprise for even the fox herself was. As the song ended Naruto was finally calming down. His body no longer flailing around.
"I can't believe that worked. I think it's time you woke up for now Naruto." Naruto faded out of the mindscape leaving only the fox.
"I knew you could do it fuzzy."
'Why does that nickname piss me off?'
Naruto awoke feeling warm on the inside. Which was a pleasant surprise.
"Kyuubi. Thank you." Naruto proceeded to get ready for the day.
(Konoha Hospital)
"Do I really need to stay here all day?" asked the pink haired Haruno girl.
The nurse present spoke gently but firm. "Yes you do Sakura. It is hospital policy to hold patients for up to three days following an attempted suicide. When you are released you will have scheduled evaluations of your mental state. Can't have our kunoichi suicidal on a mission now can we?"
After hearing the nurse explain her predicament Sakura began to accept her temporary position
"Yeah I guess."
"We only want what's best for you Sakura-Chan, after all I couldn't bear to lose you."
Spoke the only other individual in the room Umi Haruno. Umi was Sakuras father. He was an average height of five feet eight inches. He had black curly hair, and jade green eyes, Umi wasn't particularly muscular but he was fit, and in good health.
Umi was trying to be strong for his daughter. He honestly never knew her silly crush could push her so far, and yet here they were sitting in a hospital. One strapped down to a bed, and one afraid to ever leave the room lest he never see his little girl again.
"I know Tou-San." Spoke the child sheepishly.
Sensing that the two needed space the nurse excused herself leaving the Haruno family alone. The silence was awkward to say the least. Doing his best to be the strength Sakura needed Umi spoke.
"Sakura I never knew that your feelings for the Uchiha boy would tempt you to go to such extremes, and I didn't notice how his words hurt you. For that I am sorry, and I want you to know that I love you so much. I love you with all my heart and soul. There isn't a thing I wouldn't do for you. I would fight every Kage in the land if it meant keeping you safe."
"Even Hokage-sama?"
"I hear he has weak knees. As long as I can hit him one good time." Teased the man. This got a small giggle out of Sakura.
Umi played with her hair while speaking again.
"I told you that you got your good looks from your mom right?"
"Yes Tou-San. You always said that you weren't willing to share your good looks so mom gave me some of hers." Answered the girl.
"Beautiful, and smart I see." Umi teased before he took a moment to be serious
"Sakura I don't want you to hurt anymore from that boy. He hasn't noticed your affection, and that's his loss. Please my little cherry blossom don't do this again. I can't lose you too."
The room was somber in tone, but there was a loving warmth within. The father daughter duo spent the rest of their time talking in relative peace. Only thinking on how to move on in the future.
(Konoha Academy)
Sasuke was not one to be overly emotional. He like to keep his rage hidden beneath a mask of indifference. Never falter never giving in, and never forgetting.
"Hey look. It's Sasgay."
He did notice that the schoolyard taunts were getting to him. It was frustrating that some no name fools could rile him so easily. All he could do was continue to ignore it.
"It's probably a good thing your parents are dead. Wouldn't want them seeing a gay boy like you" spoke one boy wearing a red shirt.
Within an instant Sasuke was standing directly in front of him, and his little gang of friends. Rage evident in his voice Sasuke spoke.
"Do you care to repeat that Tomiaki?" Sasuke voice cut through the boys like a knife. But young Tomiaki decided to act tough.
"I said that it's a good thing your brother killed you family so that they would never see you as the stupid, weak failure of a gay boy like you."
"Well good to know I hadn't misheard you, now I won't feel bad for breaking your arms."
'Five boys in total to take down. Cakewalk.' Sasuke had planned his attack before the boys could even respond, and Sasuke wasn't going to give them a chance.
Sasuke grabbed Tomiaki by the back of his head, and pulled him low enough to knee in the nose instantly breaking it. The boy directly to the right of them tried grabbing Sasuke only to have his wrist grabbed and promptly snapped with surgical precision. Sasuke then rolled the boy over his shoulder and onto the ground where he quickly dislocated the shoulder of the boy. Sasuke sensed two boys try to rush him at once so he leapt over them causing them to trip over their friend. While there were down he went to the only boy standing and delivered a combo of devastating punches and kicks that's easily put him down for the count. The two boys who had fallen watched their friend get utterly dominated by Sasuke, and decided to flee in fear rather than feel his wrath. Leaving only Tomiaki, and his promise to keep.
"S-Sasuke please. I am sorry. I-I swear I didn't mean it. Please Sasuke!" Tomiaki begged as he watched Sasuke walk towards the boy trembling with rage.
"Kami is forgiving, and I don't pretend to be a god" spoke Sasuke coldly before taking Tomiaki's right arm and twisting it.
Sasuke kept twisting, and apply pressure until he hear a satisfying snap, and Tomiaki's cries of pain.
"Now do I have to break the other one, or are you going to leave me be?" asked the Uchiha
"I will leave you alone Sasuke. I swear. I swear! Please no more." Cried out the boy in pain, and fear of Sasuke.
"Good, and just in case someone asks how you got so badly beat up. My name better not come up, or I will take that other arm. Maybe a leg too." Sasuke left Tomiaki to worm his way back home. He did after all have more important things to do than beating up weaklings.
Today was the day he would finally meet his team, and be one step closer to killing a certain man. Hopefully his team wouldn't be disappointing.
(Konoha Academy)
Hinata Hyuga was sitting in the back of the class waiting impatiently to learn what team she would be on, but that was not the most pressing matter on her mind. Her main concern was the tedious friendship she shared with her crush Naruto.
'I just wish he would talk to me. I thought we were friends, but now he doesn't even look my way. Was all of it just a show? I can't stand this Naruto-Kun.
Naturally as Hinata was thinking about Naruto he decides to enter the room. The two make eye contact, but it was her turn to look away. Naruto was not as dense as some would suggest. He had noticed the way she looks at him, the way she acts around him. He just does not understand what it means, and sometimes it scares him. She looks at him with such strong emotion, but it's not anger, or hate it is something pure. Something Naruto has never felt, and can't comprehend. What he did know was that he had hurt her. In ignoring her the past couple days he had damaged their bond.
Naruto went to take his seat, quietly thinking how to restore the friendship.
"It would help if you talked to her." Spoke the fox
'I don't think I am going to get used to that.'
"Look the longer you wait the more you hurt her."
'I know alright! I just… that dream. What if it comes true?'
"You can't live your life based on what ifs. Either you take a chance, or you live like a coward."
'Damn…' Naruto and the fox cut the conversation short as the last of the students, and Iruka-Sensai filed into the room.
"Alright class today we will be assigning your new teams."

Authors note: alright so I redid this chapter to fix some of my pacing issues. Hopefully I won't mess up like that again. I see I got a bunch of new followers, and I am forever grateful.
