Team Seven Part 2
The room was tense with anticipation. This was the moment they trained for, and they were ready to start their lives as ninja, as those who endure.
"Nice to see I have you attention for once" spoke Iruka-Sensei in a teasing manner.
"Today you will be assigned teams and placed under a Jonin. Though you all may be children you became adults the moment you put those headbands on. From now on you will face danger, pain, and death. Do not forgot that you also have your comrades who would lay their life down for yours, and the will of fire in every leaf ninja. Now let's begin." Iruka began placing them into teams.
After what felt like hours only nine remained.
"Team seven will include Naruto Uzumaki, Sasuke Uchiha, and Hinata Hyuga."
Naruto lost focus of Iruka, and became somewhat fixated of the news that he would be on a team with the one girl he didn't know how to interact with. Hinata on the other hand was trying not to pass out.
"Team Eight will be Kiba Inuzuka, Shino Aburame, and Sakura Haruno."
'Fuck me' thought Kiba when faced with the news he had to deal with Sakura.
Shino showed no outward signs of displeasure, but had concerns regarding her skills.
"Lastly team ten will include Shikamaru Nara, Ino Yamanaka, and Choji Akimichi. Your Jonin senseis will be here shortly to collect you. In the meantime get to know your teams, and spend these last few minutes with each other. The life of a ninja is dangerous, and even by the end of this year you may not see some of these faces." Iruka didn't mean to frighten his students but he had to prepare them for the stark reality of Shinobi.
As Iruka dismissed the young Genin they all found their way to their teams. Shino, and Kiba remained sitting next to each other, but they only now noticed that Sakura was not actually in class.
"Yo Shino where is the fan girl today?" Questioned Kiba
"I am not aware of her location. The reason behind this stems from not being close friends" Spoke Shino softly, and eloquently.
"A simple no would have been fine… always got to be so difficult" stated the boy in exasperation.
Almost if on cue the door to the room slid open, and various ninja of Jonin rank entered the room.
"Kiba Inuzuka, and Shino Aburame please come with me." The voice was caught the boys attention and directed them to their new sensei. Kurenai Yuuhi.
Kurenai was five foot seven inches with dark hair, and vivid red eyes. Her attire was unique in its use of bandage like dress that showed of her stunning legs. A single sleeve of red covered her right arm, and one could see she wore a mesh undershirt that covered her ample bosom. Not that you would want to be caught staring, for Kurenai was more than just a pretty face. Her skills in Genjutsu were legend in Konoha, and her Taijutsu wasn't far behind.
"It would appear Our Sensei is here. Let's go Kiba." Spoke Shino with authority.
"Hey don't start bossing me around. Akamaru, and I are the leaders am I right boy?"
"Aarf Aarf. "Was the response of the little dog poking out of Kibas hoodie?
"Hello boys, I am Kurenai Yuuhi, and I will be your new Jonin sensei. We will being discussing our team a bit more when Sakura joins us. Follow me."
As soon as team Kurenai left another Jonin came in to collect his new students.
"Choji Akimichi, Shikamaru Nara, and Ino Yamanaka. Please come with me." Commanded a man with power behind his voice.
The man speaking was Asuma Sarutobi son for the third Hokage. Asuma stood at an impressive six foot seven inches. He had broad shoulders, and a square jaw. He would fit stereotyped for the macho man ninja if he didn't carry himself in an aloof manner. His eyes seemed soft, and he usually had a smile on his face. As he and his new students walk out the building they left the last team to meet with their sensei.
Naruto, Hinata, and Sasuke were all alone.
Naruto, and Sasuke were content just ignoring each other, but Hinata was the wildcard to the situation.
"A…Ano -Kun, Uchiha-San shouldn't we umm… speak to each other?" stammered the Hyuga. Her palms started to sweat, and her heart was pounding in her chest, as if the thought of interacting with these two would destroy her.
The boys were snapped out of their self-imposed stupor, and looked at each other awkwardly.
"Well I guess we are on a team now." Naruto was the first to speak, but even he felt awkward with his team.
Sasuke's response was limited to a nod in his teammate's direction, but went no further.
"Well this is awkward" Hinata commented fidgeting her fingers, and wishing their new sensei would just show up.
(Streets of Konoha)
The Leaf village was a stunning sensory experience. During the day the streets were packed with vendors, ninjas, civilians, and tourists all living life to their best ability. Everywhere you go you could find a restaurant, or even a simple food stand to fill your belly with unique flavorful dishes. The smell of food wafted through the air enticing all senses. Konoha also featured a luxurious shopping district that boasted an impressive amount of stores, and various activities. Life in Konoha was good. As Team Kurenai was walking the streets of this wonderful village Kiba couldn't help but wonder why they were seemingly just walking around.
'What's Kurenai Sensei up to? We have been walking for half an hour now, and we still don't know where Sakura is.' Kiba's thoughts were easily read in his body language. One could tell he was annoyed just by looking at him.
"We are walking to the hospital Kiba." Shino Broke Kiba out of his thoughts with his sudden statement.
"What are you talking about man? Why would we go to the hospital?" It was Kurenai's turn to speak.
"We are going to see Sakura" Kurenai statement was oddly blunt. Her tone hid a small amount of displeasure, but her face revealed no such emotion.
'Hmm it seems Kurenai Sensei has some misgivings about Sakura-San' Shino picked up on Kurenai's feelings better than Kiba did.
The three did not speak much until they arrived at the Hospital. Hospitals were a very familiar location to Ninja. The food was subpar, and building always smelled of cleaning fluid, and old people.
Kurenai spoke with the receptionist for a moment before walking down a hallway. After climbing a few flights of stairs, and another hallway they reached Sakuras room.
(The Academy)
"Oh my Kami I am so bored" yelled Naruto as he banged his head on the desk.
"We have been here for hours!"
"It hasn't been that…" Hinata was suddenly cut off.
"It's been thirty minutes Baka. Learn to tell time" was a very angry response from an equally bored Uchiha as he balled up his fists in annoyance.
"That wasn't very nice Sas…" this time Naruto cut Hinata off mid-sentence. If Naruto, and Sasuke weren't so oblivious to Hinata they were notice her slowly becoming agitated.
"Oh look the Vampire has decided to grace us with the sound of his voice"
"I am about to grace you with my fist if you don't shut your dirty whore mouth"
"I AM ABOUT TO KICK BOTH OF YOUR ASSES IF YOU DON'T SHUT UP!" The moment Hinata yelled at the boys the room become silent. They both slowly turned to Hinata who was trying to hide inside her blushing face from the boys.
"G-Gomen. I-I was just tr-trying to get you b-both to stop. "Stammered out the shy girl. Hinata spoke once more with courage
"We are a team, and we may not get along all the time, but we need to take care of each other. That starts when you too stop trying to punch each other in the face every five minutes."
The boys both knew she was right, but they would never admit that. They both calmed down for the moment. Naruto turned to Hinata and smiled letting her know that he was proud of her for speaking up. Unbeknownst to the three of them Kakashi was standing outside the class smiling as he continued to read his little orange book.
