ALRIGHT... NOW THE MOST WANTED...
ONTO THE STURY!
"Omid did WHAT?" I asked, eyebrows knitting together which visibly showed my confusion, "What do you mean Omid ran of with AJ?!"
"Omid just... took of with him, I guess," Bonnie answered with a shrug
I heard Kenny growl as he paced back and fourth around the area. His two, dark brown orbs seemed twice as big then they usually did. Through gritted teeth, he spoke, "That motherfucking piece of shit! Who the hell does that little shit bird think he his?!"
"Kenny man," Mike faced the elder, "Calm down!"
"Calm down?!" Kenny hissed at him and a vein started popping out in his neck. His hands were clenched into fists, "What the fuck do you mean calm down?! Do you not understand what has happened? That fucker just kidnapped AJ!"
"Kenny, we'll find them!" Luke said from the spot he was sitting (We was still shot in the knee.), "But we cant do that if you're just yelling at us!"
"Where did he go?" I asked, looking at Bonnie who seemed to be the most reasonable person here, "Do we even have an idea?"
"Not really," Her southern accent filled the air and she looked down at the ground with worry, "I saw some tracks going up to where we were heading. They might be his."
"Up where we were heading?" Nick cut in, realizing something, "He's probably trying to get up to the place Arvo mentioned before get there. To try and nab all the supplies."
Upon hearing those words, Kenny marched over to Arvo (Who noticed and was now trying to squirm as far away as possible from Kenny) and harshly undid his bindings to free him from the thing he was tied to only to put them back on to ensure he doesn't escape. Kenny practically shoved Arvo to the ground, which caused the snow to move around. Kenny got his gun (Which was safely tucked into his jeans) and aimed it at the teenage boy. His brown eyes demanded satisfaction as his lips curled back into a snarl, showing his teeth.
"Kenny! Stop!" Mike exclaimed, taking a step forward but was stopped by Bonnie.
Kenny disobeyed and kept his finger on the trigger, "Where the fuck is this place?!"
Arvo let out a whimper as blue orbs that were behind a pair of cracked glasses screamed terror. His heavier breathing made his chest rise and fall dramatically and it seemed as if he were processing what was just asked of him, "W-what?"
"Fuckin Russkie!" Kenny swore, his patience wearing thin as well as his temper, "I asked you where the fuck this place is!"
"Couple hours!" Arvo pleaded, "Please, I'll take you there! Just no shoot!"
"Kenny!" I yelled, pushing slightly past Nick, "Stop it! Threating him is just going to waste your energy and our time! Ohmid and AJ will be found, but we have to get on the road now!"
Kenny's own breaths were rising from anger. I could see his grip in the gun tighten and it seemed as if he was seriously debating on pulling the trigger. After a few intense seconds, Kenny forcefully grabbed the collar of Arvo's purple jacket and 'helped' him up. A yelp from the Russian and harsh words being pat out of Kenny's mouth were the only things audible for a couple second. Kenny pushed Arvo forward slightly before we left our home of last night and got back on the road.
Arvo, as promised, led us down the road. Kenny would occasionally ask Arvo how much further it would be. The Russian always muttered a, "soon," or, "We're almost there". Bonnie kept her eyes on the ground, directing us where tracks we think we're Omids were heading. Nick stayed by me while helping luke walk while mike kept an eye at Kenny, stealing glances when he could. He was probably judging the older man.
I shivered as cold wind blew on my face, feeling it weave through my hair and send goosebumps down my back and on my arms. Nick looked at me with his one, icy blue eye. I offered him a smile to show I was fine. We have been walking for about an hour and a half non stop and it was causing my feet to go sore. The wind caused my fingers to go numb. But my mind wasn't stuck on how freezing I was or how much longer until we got to our destination, but rather on Omid and what he has done. One word described how I felt about the situation.
and that word: why?
That question enters my head a lot. Why this, why that? Why, why, why? In this case, I don't know. A lot of thoughts entered my head. Christa was pregnant, but the two of them had lost the baby. Was he just trying to get the kid he visibly, dearly wanted back? He and Rebecca seemed to have gotten along perfectly. Was he trying to keep her kid safe? Safe from us? Are we the problem? Maybe a bit of all of them. Omid wanted a child of his own so he took one. He knew the group wouldn't just let him run off on his own with it, so he left.
"Hey guys," Bonnie's voice broke the long silence as well as my train of thought, "The tracks stop here."
Kenny's head moved around while he looked, as if he expected them to pop out of nowhere, "Then where the hell are they?!"
Everyone began looking around. Bonnie was making sure she had followed the tracks correctly while Luke was set on a nearby log, with the help of Nick of course. Nick himself was starting to stand back up from helping his friend, but came to a sudden halt. While frozen, his eye widened and I noticed how he unintentionally took a deep breath in.
I looked at him and took a step closer, "Nick, what's wrong?"
He didn't answer, too stunned to speak. I felt worry enter my system as I slowly walked closer to him. I stood on my toes to see what had him so shocked. I saw snow that was once white now stained in crimson. My lips parted slightly at the amount that had been there. I took a hesitant step closer. Not much further, there laid several half cleaned bones. A wolf was nearby (who somehow hadn't noticed us yet) with blood stained teeth that had traces of human flesh left on them, seeing how that was its last meal.
Omid, what was left of Omid, was nothing but an upper half of a body and bloody remains. Near his corpse were only more bones... and a blood soaked, green baby blanket.
The wolf had finally noticed us and licked his red chops before coming closer. I was a bit to shocked to move. My head was having trouble processing what was going on. I looked right into that wolfs eyes. For some reason, I mentally compared his golden orbs to my very own. It's lips peeled back into a snarl, revealing its blood covered fangs. I don't know why, but that image alone almost reminded me of Kenny. Before any of us had time to react, it quickly made it's move on us and pounced me.
A small scream left my throat as both the wolf and I fell to the ground. I felt the cold snow soak through my grey shirt and make contact with my back. Its paws pressed down hard on my chest. I heard Nick call out for me before a gunshot went off. The creature went limp so I pushed the furry thing off of me. A bullet wound now embedded through it's head. I looked up to be greeted with the sight of Bonnie holding her gun up and aimed in her hands. Assumingly the one to have just saved me.
Her blue eyes held unshed tears as she looked back at what had been AJ's blanket. She visibly shook. One of her hands slumped to the side, still holding the gun. The other went up to cover her mouth. A single tear escaped her eye and leaked down her cheek before she muttered, "Oh god..."
We all sat in uncomfortable silence for a moment, before the familiar sound of walker growling filled the air. My head shot up and I looked around, trying to see if any of the undead things were nearby. But there wasn't. I turned around. Omid had come back and was now his only arm was reaching out for us. He was missing his bottom half, so he wouldn't be able to actually get to us. Bonnie started crying a bit more before pointing her gun back at Omids head.
"Don't," Kenny stopped her. He was clearly trying to keep from blowing up. He was almost failing, "Fuckers like him aint worth it."
Well, that happened.
RIP AJ
Rest in hell Omid
