Chapter 3

The Southern Isle Council convened, and the eleven brothers looked eagerly for a report from Hans on how things went with the delegation to Arendelle. But they weren't prepared to hear the report they got as Hans was in shackles and it was Uncle Roland making the report.

"…Hans then left Anna in her weakened state, and tried to hurry her demise, by quenching all sources of warmth in the Study. He then filled her in on his plan to kill Elsa, and let Anna die, so he could be King of Arendelle! Luckily, he was not able to carry out this treachery. The Queen and Princess are safe and well," finished Uncle Roland.

A loud, disapproving murmur rumbled through the Council. More than a few brothers cast angry looks at Hans.

"I'm surprised he is still alive!" stated Thor emphatically. "Arendelle had every legal right to execute him, and we would have had no avenue to protest!"

Turning to Hans, Thor stated, "How could you be so STUPID? How could you plan a coup of a country we are trying to establish Trade Routes with? Doesn't the welfare of the Southern Isles concern you at all?" Hans was doing a slow boil.

Berg asked, "So what is the status of a Trade Agreement with Arendelle? Is it lost forever, thanks to this knucklehead brother of ours?"

"No," replied Uncle Roland. "Arendelle understands that Hans acted alone, and did not represent the wishes of the Southern Isles. I have been invited back two weeks from now to discuss the issue.

"By the way, Hans wasn't the only one performing ill advised actions. The Duke of Weselton also tried to kill the Queen through his henchmen. Arendelle cut off all Trade and diplomatic relations with them forever!"

"Thank goodness for small favors!" exclaimed Leif. "That leaves the door wide open for us then."

Then looking at Hans, "And we could have lost this golden opportunity thanks to you, IDIOT!"

Hans had heard enough. He finally spoke.

"You all condemn me for what I did, but deep down each and every one of you would have done the same thing, if you were thirteenth in line for the Throne! You hypocrites! Don't act so 'holier than thou'…"

Lukens broke in, " SILENCE! You complain about not being close to achieving a Throne. You would have HAD one, if you would have just acted like a gentleman, not strung a vulnerable princess along, and not tried to kill the Queen! I was going to install you on the Throne over Eurus and Zephyrus! You would have been an equal with your other eleven brothers! Take him into the holding room! I will break the seal on the parchment from the Queen of Arendelle, and we will determine his fate!"
