Draco did his best to stay completely calm. If Pru was this scared and he let her see that he was scared as well... well she'd freak out even more. He hated the terrifying look that was in her eye, all because of Pansy. He couldn't understand it, why was Prudence the slightest bit alarmed by Pansy? So he hugged her to his chest tightly and searched for Daphne in the crowds of students around them.

It was hard to maneuver his petrified girlfriend through throngs of excited classmates that all wanted to congratulate him while also searching for Daphne, or even Blaise. Alas, he spotted someone that could help, he didn't think twice about calling out to her, he would do anything for Pru.

Granger was walking briskly toward the castle completely alone. He wondered if he should try and be discreet as he tried to get the Gryffidor's attention, but when he felt Pru quiver he just didn't care, "Oi! Granger!" With the boisterous crowd still screaming strongly he was able to get her to see him without calling too much attention to himself.

Hermione's head whipped around, she distinctly heard a male voice yell out her sur name. When she spotted Malfoy looking right at her from a few meters away she was oddly suspicious. Did he just yell out to her?

Draco narrowed his eyes at the dumbstuck girl and mouthed, "Come here!"

That's when Hermione noticed that he held Pru in his arms and she looked slumped over for some reason. Her heart sped up as she did what he asked and beelined for them immediately.

"What's wrong with her Malfoy? What's happened now!?" Hermione never witnessed Malfoy look so panicked and completely unaware of how normal he was speaking to her.

"I need you to take Pru inside right now. Listen to me carefully Granger..." He looked directly into the bushy haired Gryffidor's eyes with all seriousness, "...take her to your dorm, not Slytherin, do you understand me? To the tower, away from the dungeons, do you got that?"

Hermoine's eyes bulged with his passionate order, "Tell me what's wrong!" She said as her own panic formed a lump in her throat. He didn't answer though as he begrudgingly handed over his forlorn girlfriend.

Draco didn't want to let her go, he hated to leave her side, but he had made the decision to find Pansy or Snape and get this dealt with once and for all. It was reckless to let Parkinson continue to be in the castle. He had to know why she was allowed to stay and then fight with everything he had to make her leave.

Pru didn't want to leave his arms either. She looked into the eyes of the boy she knew she loved, she felt helpless. Something terrible was going to happen to him. The anxiety was trying to choke her... Pansy was going to hurt him...

It wasn't a preminission, it wasn't anything that she had any power to change. The scene she witnessed of Pansy and Millicent at a cauldron was just a head's up from some unknown force that she needed to prepare herself for something very traumatizing... She felt so weak, there was no fight in her, because she couldn't even stop it if she wanted too. Something very bad was going to happen very soon...

"Draco you can't go!" The tears were unstoppable once her words spilled out. And at the same time she felt her energy just draining, she collapsed against him, there was something wrong with her, "Don't.." she whispered desperately.

Draco's heart was lurching hard in his chest, something was really wrong with her. She seemed as if she had lost all her defense, like she was so... broken. He took her face into his palms and held her face to his closely, "Prudence... my sweet beautiful Prudence... I have to stop this. I can't see you sad any more. I promise I will be right back." Because her sadness was killing him. He knew there was something very important that she wasn't telling him. Although he hated to admit it, he knew that she probably had a very good reason to be doing so, he just had to trust her. But he won't stand by and continue to see her crumble like this over some worthless bint... he had to eradicate Pansy.

Pru could feel her insides dissolving. Her mind would not stop reeling with the fact that Draco was going to be harmed and she had no way to stop it... This action, this spell... whatever Pansy was planning on doing to him, it was fixed. It was one of those rare moments in time that couldn't be changed because it's ultimate effect was greater than most could fathom. So letting him leave her at that very moment didn't much matter...

She nodded her head sadly and tilted her chin upwards so he could kiss her goodbye. Then she let Hermione guide her away as she watched him stalk away harshly.

Hermione looked down at a very despondent Prudence who was laying face down on the Gryffidor's bed. She was a little distressed, she had never saw Pru act so weak. It was like her life and soul were being sucked out of her.

"Prudence! Please speak to me!" Hermione was exasperating as she tried to gently shake her unmoving friend, "Just snap out of it, tell me what's going on!"

Pru groaned as she shrugged off Hermione. She had had a few minutes to let it sink in what she had to face. Although she didn't feel as catatonic as when she first found out, she was still very sad. "I don't want to talk about it..."

Hermione finally heaved a breath of relief, at least she was responding. "Please," she said gently, "tell me why Draco doesn't want you in the dungeons, where did he have to go in such a rush?"

Pru's friend's words brought the smallest grin to her lips. Draco was so protective of her, he was out at that very moment trying to stop something entirely inevitable, and he didn't even ask her any details. He just knew, without even thinking about, that he wanted to save her...

Draco prowled the halls of the dungeons. It's the only place he would find Pansy, no doubt in one of the many hidden rooms that most older Slytherins knew about. Or Snape. His Godfather wasn't the type of man to stick around for celebrations so he was more than likely in the lab. Either way Draco would find someone to yell at, or better yet hex, very soon.

His muscles were screaming with the tension he was holding in and his mind would not allow him to let go. He was beyond furious by now that the Pug had been anywhere near Pru that day. Prudence was having a breakdown, and he knew it wasn't something she could shake off. She trembled, her eyes swelled with the fear of a man staring into a dementor, he wouldn't stand for it.

The hinges to the door of Snape's office were almost torn clean away as Draco stormed into the room. Severus looked at the boy calmly, but annoyed, what now? "Explain yourself," the older man said quietly.

Draco hated how calm the professor's voice seemed, it did nothing to soothe his rage. "Something must be done about Parkinsion! She should have never been allowed back! Do you think a skimmed obliviation would actually fix her evil?" His chest heaved as he continued to roar,"She's trying to harm Pru already, and it's been less than a week!"

Snape's alarm rung in his head, "Harm her? Why...how? She doesn't even remember Prudence."

"She remember's me though Oh Mighty Wizard, she's sickly in love with me, you know that! And she's obviously jealous of Pru, it's really not at all surprising Sev!"

Professor Snape took in a deep breath and stood to his feet. His creepily calm demeanor unnerving Draco. Snape just couldn't believe that it would be happening so soon...

Draco looked into his godfather's eyes, his pupils were enlarged, like he was... scared? There's now way Severus could be scared too? What was going on?!

"But how Draco? Tell me how?!" He needed details.

The young man looked at the Professor strangely before telling him, "After I won the match, she met me on the pitch to hug me. I was letting her scream it out over Potter and her grandfather into my chest... but when she looked back up at me... it was like her eyes were somewhere far away. She was petrified, like she had saw something happen... all she would say was Pansy. That is until she screamed at me not to leave... she was so terrified, I've never seen her so scared..."

Draco was getting increasingly more agitated with Snape's looks. The older man's eyes went slightly blank as he heaved a quaking breath, "Where is she? Where is Prudence?"

"Gryffindor dorms- why? Severus tell me what the fuck is happening! You're starting to freak me out!"

The professor stared at him, contemplating what he should tell the young man. It was obvious that Draco had very much to do with Pru's life course, so he guessed, maybe he deserved to know. "Damnit!" he cried out uncharacteristically. "This isn't suppose to happen this soon!"

"What Severus!? What isn't suppose to happen this soon!" Draco thought he might strangle his own godfather if he didn't start getting answers.

The greasy man was now gently shaking his head, unable to come to terms with telling Draco the truth.

Draco felt queasy, that foreboding feeling that he felt all of last year creeping in. "Tell me," he asked quietly. Because this was about her, and he would do anything for her.

Severus sighed, "The Headmaster was given strict orders to continue Parkinson's education here at Hogwarts."

"By who?!"

Even though Draco had leapt back up to his feet, the professor continued to sit idly, as if he felt defeated as well.

"Unknown."

"Bollocks!" Draco cried in outrage, "You expect me to believe that shit!

"Enough!" Severus roared, his even temper couldn't take any more of the young man's outburst.

"This is the truth! The Headmaster and I have tried extremely hard to figure this out, but we can't find any logical answers..."

Draco understood that the man's defeated tone only depicted the truth, but he didn't feel any better by a long shot. Who could possibly think it was so important for Parkinson to stay? Who had the power to even enforce that? What did it have to do with Pru? And what did he mean by logical?

"So... illogically?" Draco asked evenly.

Severus's sallow skin seemed to pale even more, not a good sign.

"There is... long forgotten legends... practically laughable stories to be precise... stories about a coucil..."

"Council of what?"

Snape could only shake his head "...Everything..." He looked disgusted with himself for giving thought to the idea, but he knew deep down it must be true, "We've only been able to dig up fragments of stories, fogged memories... it's hard to believe it exist at all..."

Draco was still in disbelief, Snape must be nutter. Being a rich pure blooded wizard he was brought up in a home that disclosed all the most glorious legends of mighty wizards, he thought an all mighty council would have came up. When he looked back into the older wizard's eyes there was no more terror.

Snape looked at his godson seriously, "Think about it, Prudence is a chosen immortal... who chose her?"

Draco's heart twitched, who did choose her?

"Whoever it is... the Headmaster and I feel are the ones intervening here at this school. The most minuscule detail, like say Parkinson remaining in class, is only the first step to a long chain reaction that ends with something... big..."

"Like what...?" Draco whispered, he felt fear creeping over him.

Severus looked at him evenly, this next piece of information was going to impact him directly, he felt apprehensive again.

It was serious, whatever Sev was trying to say to him next. The older man swallowed, "Pru's powers are not yet completed." He paused to let that sink in with Draco, "She is suppose to make her final transformation some time during her early twenties... so the Minister believes... if she transforms any sooner..." Now he looked dead straight into the young man's eyes, "Very terrible things can happen..."

"Like!?" Draco demanded.

"Like her soul won't be able to handle the transformation because she will not have completed all her training and instead of becoming the pure Goddess that she is meant to she will be too vulnerable... vulnerable enough for darker forces to swoop in and-" even he couldn't say the words.

"And what Severeus! Tell me, and what?"

"And she can be turned into a demon."

There was a loud thump as Draco's body hit the chair that saved him from falling to the floor completely. A demon? Prudence? Never, ever... she could never... and he would never allow it... "...That would never happen..." Draco grit out.

Snape groaned and shrugged his shoulders, "Well we don't know do we! In fact, we don't know anything for sure at all, it's all hunches and hear say!"

The room fell silent as both men stewed, then Draco broke the silence, "So this council decided that Pru would become an immortal, they also decided that Pansy must stay at Hogwarts, which you ultimately believe will cause a chain reaction that eventually leads to Pru's early struggle to become pure or dark?"

Snape only nodded, sure that's about right. He had no more answers, no more information to divulge.

Draco took in a deep breath and ran his hands through his hair, he was frustrated and overwhelmed beyond belief. As he closed his eyes for a moment all he could see was her. His gorgeous, smiling Prudence. Her sparkling eyes that always wanted him and encouraged him. He stood up a moment later, coming to terms that he would always fight when it came to her. He took a few steps toward the door before turning to look at Severus one last time, "So... I can't kill Pansy?"

"No."

"Ok then."

The professor asked calmly, back to his old self some what, "Well what are you going to do now?"

"I am going to fight off a chain of events I have no idea how to stop."

Severus Snape let out a deep breath once he was alone... the balance of their world was now teetering on a teenage love triangle, preposterous...

"But you don't know what she's going to do?" Hermione was asking Prudence after the entire store was retold. "Can't you read minds though?"

Prudence felt wrung with the situation, "Hermioneeee, you don't get it. Some events are incapable of being altered! This particular one seems to be so important for the course of the entire universe, or whatever, that it must happen... it doesn't matter if I knew what she was planning to do or when... I cannot stop it..."

Hermione blinked a bit dumbly, she wasn't use to being impressed like this. "So in order for the universe to continue proper Pansy has to hurt Malfoy in some crazy way... well that doesn't sound fair to you..."

"Yes!" Pru wailed now back to thoroughly distraught, "So why bother..."

Hermione wasn't sure if the right words existed to comfort her, she didn't know what to say, so she hugged her.

Pru let her tears fall onto her friend's shoulder as she whispered, "This is all my fault, it's all because of me that Draco will be hurt..."

"No Pru, it's not your fault that Pansy is crazy, she's always been crazy."

Pru could appreciate Hermione trying to comfort her, but she was wrong, it was all Pru's fault. "No Hermione, I'm a chosen immortal, all this has to happen in order to change my path...it's necessary..." She was beginning to understand the burden of her knowledge.

Again, almost too much for Hermione to handle, so she just hugged her friend tighter.

Draco found Prudence back in her room after he tried to storm the Gryffidor tower to retrieve her. He couldn't help feeling like he was a million miles away from her the longer he didn't see her. Once he opened her door he found her sitting on her bed waiting patiently for him, he engulfed her into his arms without a word.

Pru was relieved that he was back, but it was bittersweet, how much longer would he be with her? She could immediately sense his overpowering distress. It was uncontrollable how intuned she was with him by now, so it was completely impossible for her to tune out the onslaught of information spilling out of his brain and into hers. Tears fell from her eyes silently as she took in everything from their suspicion of the council, to needing Pansy to stay, to her fight with light and dark. The council thing was ringing a bell in her head, it felt too familiar. But turning into a demon? How the hell was she suppose to take that?

"What do we do?" Draco asked, hoping the goddess in her had some answers.

Pru looked into his eyes, they were wide and full of worry all for her. He hadn't a care for himself, he only thought of her, like she only thought of him. She sighed though, and cast her eyes away, "We hold on tight and hope we make it to the other side intact..."

Draco shook his head no, that wasn't good enough. He couldn't just sit tight and hope for the best. He was livid that he was really helpless, her defeated words were proof.

"Bollocks!" he yelled as he stood up and began pacing the room, "I can't just sit and wait for something to happen, for that bitch to make her move... I won't let you go through your final transformation early!"

"My what?" Did she hear him right? Final transformation?

Draco looked at her bewildered, "You're not complete, you have one more ascension..."

"I do?! How do you know that?" She thought she was complete, her only transformation being when she broke her curse, there was another? That was overwhelming, what more could her brain handle? How come she didn't read that from him before?

Draco took his stunned girlfriend's hands in his, "It's an assumption that your grandfather has, or knows, I'm not really sure... which he told Severus."

She was nodding, everything clicking into place, "If I transform early and can't properly take it... I'll be turned demon..."

"Look at me!" Draco urged as he took her face into his hands, "You will not become a demon, you're too good, too loving- you changed me! I use to be so cold, and you warmed my heart, you will never be dark! I won't allow it!" He stared into her watery eyes, his heart was breaking from her fragile state, "Ok?" he asked as his voice cracked with emotion.

"Ok," she heaved, believing in him completely. He engulfed her into his arms and hugged tightly. She was so thankful that she ever met him, that he returned the crazy feelings that she had for him. She couldn't imagine ever going through all the goddess stuff without him there by her side. He meant everything to her and she felt the safest when she was there in his arms... All her muscles relaxed and she told him softly, "I love you."

Draco's world stood still a moment. He couldn't recall the last time that anyone had ever told him that... if ever? His family wasn't the lovey dovey share their feelings type, and he forbid girls to ever utter the word to him... had he ever heard it?

It didn't matter, because her one I love you was enough to make up for every one he never had before. He didn't hesitate to tell her back, "I love you too Prudence."

He did, he honest to Merlin loved her more than anything in the universe. He loved her more than he cared for himself. He pulled her small ample body to him closer and inhaled the fragrance of her hair. He never wanted to let go... Merlin did he fucking love her...
