Chapter 13

On the ship, Elsa remained on deck, by the ship's helm. The Captain was getting uneasy. How can he fulfill the King's command?

"Your Majesty, you should rest so that you are at full strength when you attempt to recapture your crown!"

"I'm fine, Captain. Turn the ship due North here."

"Your Majesty, the harbor is much farther west!"

"But we aren't going to the harbor, turn North!"

The Captain wasn't going to argue. Elsa could turn him into a snowman quickly; he'd do as she says.

After sailing an hour, the ship was heading straight toward North Mountain. They got to within a mile of shore, when the helmsman said, "We're going to crash into the mountain!"

But Elsa ordered, "Stow your sails briefly, and lower the dingy!" the Captain complied.

Elsa got into the dingy, but did not disconnect the lowering ropes. When she was even with the water, she began to walk across the water on ice flows of her own making! When she reached the mountain, she created a staircase for her to ascend. At the top she disappeared from view, after making the ice flows and stairs disappear.

The Captain and his men were in awe. They quickly retrieved the dingy, unfurled the sails, and started on their way home. The Captain would much rather face the wrath of Ulf than of Elsa!

Elsa made her way to her ice castle in the North Mountain. Marshmallow still guarded it faithfully. When he recognized Elsa, he said, "Castle clear. No one there!"

Elsa smiled. "You have been a faithful guard, Marshmallow! I am going to need your help with my plan! But first, let me heal your leg from that sword cut!" It was Marshmallow's turn to smile. He'd help Elsa any way he could.

That night, Elsa repaired the castle, and rested for a few hours. It was midnight, when she was ready to act.

"Marshmallow, do you remember Olaf?"

He nodded. "He and Katrina visit often,"

"Good. Do you know where Olaf is now?"

Again he nodded. "They at cave around bend!"

"Excellent! Please show me the cave." And Marshmallow gently picked up Elsa and took her to the cave.

As Elsa went in, she caught sight of Olaf. "Olaf?"

Olaf was overjoyed to see Elsa!

"Elsa! (Olaf giggles) It's great to see you! What happened to that stuffed shirt, Ulf?"

"I'll have to tell you that story later. Is Katrina here also?"

Just then, Elsa heard a voice, "Olaf, who are you talking to?" Katrina asked.

Elsa answered, "Me, Katrina! Elsa!"

"Elsa?" cried a surprised Katrina, as she came around the corner. She rushed to embrace her friend. "I'm so happy to see you!"

"Thank you, Katrina. The reason I'm here is I was wondering if you would help me get Arendelle back."

"Need you ask?" said Olaf. Katrina nodded.

"I'll need Marshmallow too. Let's move right now!"

At the castle, Freya's guards stood watch. Freya was using Elsa's old room, and Hans was using Anna's, as private quarters

Around 1:30 AM, a commotion was starting! A large snowman and two smaller snowmen were hurling large ice chunks at the castle. Freya's guards responded immediately. 40 to 45 of them went out to meet the challenge, leaving six to guard Hans and Freya.

They attacked with arrows and spears, but they were useless against the threat. Then one of the soldiers got the bright idea to set fire to the arrows and spears before throwing them. That change was working. Slowly, the three ice creatures were retreating back toward the North Mountain. The guards followed.

During the commotion, Elsa had quietly snuck up to the entrance to the catacombs in the meadow. There was a guard on the outside of the cave, but Sven and Olga took care of him. Elsa activated the entrance and saw that the guards who were supposed to be there had gone off after Marshmallow, Olaf and Katrina. She made her way to the Throne Room.

The commotion had awakened Freya and Hans. They both got up and exited their rooms.

"Who is responsible for awakening me!" demanded Freya in the hallway.

"Sorry your grace!" A guard said. "The castle was under attack by some snow creatures."

"Snow creatures, eh? I think I shall show those snow creatures the power of the Empress of Fire! Let me fetch my wand and robes! "

During this time, Elsa had exited the Throne Room and had entered the Dungeon. Again, the guards were gone. She quickly got the keys, and started opening cell doors.

"Whose there?" asked a sleepy Anna. When Elsa appeared, Anna rushed to embrace her, only to be stopped by her chains.

"We need to free our people quickly!" said Elsa as she hugged her sister, after freeing her. "Marshmallow, Olaf and Katrina don't stand a chance against Freya!"

Quickly Anna and Elsa next set free Kristoff and Captain Smith. Kristoff gave his wife a loving hug and kiss, and Captain Smith did the same to Elsa. The foursome then freed all of the Imperial Guards, as Elsa could break the shackles with her directed ice power. The entire rescue only took 15 minutes!

Captain Smith led the Guards through the deserted halls, straight to the Armory. They would arm themselves and pick up shields as well..

Elsa, Anna, Kristoff and Captain Smith however, hurried out of the castle, as they saw Freya moving toward the battle with the ice creatures. Quickly, Elsa created a small patch of clear ice right in front of Freya. Freya slipped and fell.

"What the….?" stated Freya.

"You can thank me for your fall, Freya! One good fall deserves another!" responded Elsa.

"YOU! So Ulf wasn't smart enough to guard the key! It really doesn't matter! I'll deal with you myself.!"

"Hold, Freya! I challenge you to a formal battle in the outdoor arena! Winner gets Arendelle!"

Freya smiled at the novelty of a formal challenge. "Agreed." And after she had defeated Elsa, she would not only reduce her to ashes, but Anna, Kristoff and Captain Smith as well!
