All were now, back at camp Jaha, both Arkers and Grounders. Everyone was taking a break from being enemies and were celebrating the day's victory. Music was playing inside the mess hall and talk and laughter filled the air.
Bellamy was still thinking about what Clarke had said when she had found him. 'You don't understand,' she had said. Bellamy couldn't figure out what she meant. He walked outside, trying to make sense of the confusion raging through his mind.
In the distance, he could see someone sitting by the fire pit. He made his way over there and as he neared the shadow, he realized that it was Clarke. She was sitting completely still and staring into the fire. Bellamy plopped himself down next to her. She didn't flinch.
He turned his head and looked at her. She remained still, staring at the fire, as if hypnotized.
"Clarke," Bellamy whispered as he reached for her hand. She pulled away even though she wanted him to touch her. Heck, her whole body was screaming for him to do just that. But she knew she couldn't let him, not after what she did. "What's wrong?" he asked; his voice full of concern. She finally turned her head and stared at him.
"You shouldn't be this nice to me. You shouldn't care about me," she finally whispered.
"Why shouldn't I? I can't help it. I care about you and you know that, Clarke," Bellamy said; a tiny trace of frustration present in his voice. 'What the heck is she on about? Where is she going with this?' he thought to himself.
She took a deep breath and whispered, "I didn't warn them."
"What do you mean? Who and about what?" questioned Bellamy.
"All the others. About the missile," she said quietly, tears once again making their way down her cheeks. Bellamy sat, quiet, and in shock.
"I… I don't understand…" Bellamy finally broke the silence. Clarke turned her body towards him and more tears were now spilling over the rims of her blue eyes. "I didn't warn the others in TonDC about the missile. I didn't even warn Octavia," she cried. "I'm so sorry, Bellamy."
Bellamy moved away from Clarke, staring at her, his face now showing the betrayal he felt. He remained quiet, until he realized what she had said. Octavia had been there and she hadn't warned her. "You risked my sister's life? Over mine?" he yelled, his fury becoming more and more evident.
Clarke moved towards him and began an attempt to explain herself, "I didn't warn them because I had to stay strong. Had I told and had TonDC been evacuated, the people of Mt. Weather would have known we had a spy on the inside. I couldn't risk them finding out about you. I couldn't live with myself if something ever happened to you, especially after me being the one who sent you in there."
Bellamy just stared at her in disbelief. If he didn't care so much about her, he would have killed her on the spot. No one risks his little sister's life, ever. He started to feel the heat from his now boiling blood and got up and stormed off.
Clarke followed behind him. She grabbed him by the arm like he often had done to her before, but he pull out of her grip with ease. He turned to her and with his deep, and now menacing, voice said "Stay the hell away from me!" He turned and ran to find Octavia.
"Octavia!" Bellamy yelled through the crowd. There were so many people but he finally spotted her, standing next to Indra. Bellamy rushed over to her and hugged her.
"Bell, what are you doing?" Octavia questioned. Bellamy pulled back and pulled his little sister by the hand and dragged her outside where it was more private. "Let go of me, Bell!" Octavia whined, trying to escape his grip on her hand.
Once outside, Bellamy turned to Octavia and started questioning her. "Why didn't you tell me that Clarke didn't warn you about the missile?!" he started. "You could have been killed, O!"
"Bell, calm down! She didn't warn anyone and she was right not to," Octavia explained.
"What do you mean? 'She was right not to'? She had no right to keep that to herself!" Bellamy replied in frustration.
Octavia put her hands on her older brother's shoulders and looked him in the eyes, waiting for him to calm down a bit. "I was mad too when I realized that she had known and not told anyone," she started. "But Indra made me realize that it was the right thing to do."
"Indra?" Bellamy questioned.
"Yes, Indra. She was hurt in the attack, but even she wasn't mad at either Clarke or Lexa, even though she knew that they both knew and said nothing." Bellamy stared at his sister, trying to wrap his mind around what she was saying.
"I know you must be fuming, but you really shouldn't be. Firstly, I'm fine, completely fine. And secondly, I'm glad she didn't say anything because then your cover would have been blown and they would have killed you on the spot. I couldn't ever live without you, big brother. And Clarke feels the same way about you," Octavia continued. Bellamy pulled Octavia into a long embrace, kissing the top of her head. "You are too brave and too much of a warrior, O," Bellamy whispered. Octavia smiled at the comment and even let out a quiet laugh. She pulled out of his embrace and looked up at her overprotective older brother, "You should go talk to Clarke. I know she feels horrible about what happened and that she regrets not warning the rest of us. She is not a bad person, Bell. You know she isn't. She protects the people she cares about and like it or not, you are one of those people." Octavia smiled to herself as she walked back inside to rejoin the party.
