Today is the day. Graduation for the class of 2015. And everyone is excited.
June 18, 2015 No One's POV
17 year old, Alexis Harmony Dawson was already up. It's 6:30, June 18, 2015, graduation day. For the past week, she had been getting up at 6 every morning. To help with her twin nephews. Right now, she's feeding the older twin, Liam Riley Dawson. The younger twin, Shane Matthew Dawson, was getting fed by Alexis's twin brother, Aaron. The father of Liam and Shane. The mother, 18 year old, Grace Blake Anderson was getting ready. Yes, she is graduating, despite missing 2 and a half weeks of physical school. Graduating with a 3.84 grade point average. A very smart girl.
But, Alexis here, is salutatorian. Second best in her class. The valedictorian and Alexis are very good friends. Eleanor "Ellie" Eddington, the valedictorian, and Alexis would always study for AP classes together. In March, Alexis got accepted into Harvard University. And into University of Miami. Along with Austin, Trish, and even Dez. What? He's a solid B student. Trish has helped him so much. They really make a perfect team.
For the past week, Alexis has talked with Ms. Carpenter. She has been helping Alexis decide whether to say with her friends or go to Harvard. Or should I say, giving Alexis advice. Ms. Carpenter knows that Harvard is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Unless, Alexis has a very good reason, than she would go. And, Alexis knows what she wants to do with her life. She just hasn't told anyone yet…
"Aaron, I think Liam is full." Alexis said.
"Thanks. Did you finished your speech?" Aaron said, taking Liam from Alexis. Shane is now in his bassinet thing, sleeping.
"Yeah. Last night. Did Grace finish her's?" Alexis said.
"Yeah." Grace wasn't Valedictorian. The school decided to let her make a speech about being a high school parent. Sure, it's only been 2 weeks, but there's 2 babies. Emily, Kara, and Rosie wanted her to make the speech instead of one of them. Unlike Grace, they weren't pregnant for most of the school year.
Emily had a girl named, Isabella, in December. Emily and Isabella's dad are together. And never breaking up. Ever. Kara had a boy named, Jackson, in February. Kara and Jackson's dad aren't speaking. Rosie had a girl named, Hailey, in March. Rosie and Hailey's father aren't together but, they're co-parenting. As junior's.
"I'm going to get ready. Can you handle this?" Alexis said.
"Ally, I'll be fine." Aaron said, "Grace is almost done anyway."
As Alexis is walking up the stairs, Grace comes down. She looks beautiful, even if she did give birth literally 3 weeks ago. Most of the baby weight is gone, but her dress hides it well.
"Grace, you looks…" Alexis said.
"Thanks, Ally." Grace said. She runs into the kitchen to see her sons, "How are my boys."
"Both of them were fed." Aaron said.
"Look at them. They're so perfect. Get ready, Aaron." Grace said.
"Yes, mam." Aaron said, "Love you."
"I love you, too." Grace said.
Aaron goes upstairs. Ally is already in the bathroom. She's a girl. On one of the biggest days of her life. One of them…
No One's POV
"Front row." Grace said to her sisters and brother.
"Chill, Grace. It's only graduation." Danni said.
"But, my speech." Grace said.
"You'll do fine." Caleb said.
"I hope so." Grace said.
No One's POV
"Before I read the names," The principle, Mrs. Jordan, said, "One of the graduating, Grace Anderson, has prepared a speech for us. As you know, she was pregnant thoughout most of her senior year. And here she is, graduating with a grade point average of 3.84. With twin boys. Ladies and Gentleman, Grace Anderson."
Everyone claps. Grace has Liam and Shane in there carriers, "As Mrs. Jordan said, I'm Grace Anderson. In the beginning of the school year, I got pregnant by my boyfriend of only 2 months at the time, Aaron Dawson. I was scared but Aaron was right there, beside me. Throughout everything. On May 28, I had my identical twin boys. Born first, Liam Riley Dawson. Born second, Shane Matthew Dawson. After my dad. Liam and Shane are the best things to ever happen to me. I love them so much that only 4 of us know. Graduating with me, Emily Davidson, who had Isabella in December. Graduating next year, Kara Martin and her son, Jackson. And Rosie Morgan and her daughter, Hailey. We may be teen parents, but we are teen families. Thank you." Everyone claps. Danni takes Liam and Shane from Grace. She returns to her seat.
"The class of 2015, Jessica Marie Addison, Grace Blake Anderson…" And so on. Mrs. Jordan reads of the man names of graduating seniors.
"The salutatorian, Alexis Dawson will present her speech."
"When I was 11, I spent the summer here with my sister, Nicola. That summer, I met a boy on the swing set. His name, Austin Moon. He was my best friend. 6 years later, me and my family moved from San Diego. The first day of senior year, I met Austin again. We were friends, a couple, friends again, and now finally a couple, again. He has made me a better person. What does this have to do with school? Everything. I met Austin in these hallways that we will one day walk again. Maybe visiting a favorite teacher, coming back to work, or just to say, hi. Marino High will always be the one place I can say, thank you, too. Thank you, for making this is best year ever. And I'm pretty sure, everyone can agree. Thank you, class of 2015."
Alexis sits down next to her brother. Ellie gives her speech, "To the class of 2015!" The class throws their hats up in the air. A tradition worth keeping.
"Austin, I know what I want to do with my life." Alexis said.
"You're going to Harvard, right?" Austin said. Austin doesn't want Alexis to leave him. Massachusetts is so far away from home. Austin wants Alexis to follow her heart. And her heart isn't saying, Harvard OR Miami. It's saying something else.
"Will you marry me?" Alexis said looking straight into his. Austin can tell that she's serious.
"Yes." Austin looks into Alexis's eyes and the newly engaged couple share a kiss.
This has been the big graduation chapter.
So like I totally did not steal that from, "Boy Meets World"… Yeah I did.
I have had this planned since November.
Goodnight, Alaina.
Review it up.
