Flashes.

Wild images of movement and then nothing. Then they sped up, and up and up and all I could see were those movements, and those sharp, colours and harsh shapes that hurt me, that gave me pain, had not left whist I slept amongst the action.

My mind was swarming with images, my brain not yet computing them, still sorting, arranging them, as I lay there helpless, unable to move, unable to speak, unable to-

A shape rushed towards me, her mouth set in a snarl.

Was that… me?

A freckled face… pale as ice… red hair….

White clothing,

And her face screwed, with up her teeth baring like a aggressive dog, snarling,

And something.. a weapon in her hand.

And then something clicked.

My name is April O'neil.

And I have absolutely no idea how I got here.

"wai-STOP!" I screamed out, my voice cracking from the sheer intensity. The girls- my- the weapon stopped in mid-air, her body hesitating. Before her face could set into that scowl again I instinctively let another scream, one that burned my throat. I couldn't help it. And then, in deference, I did the only thing I could do.

I fell into fetal position, my hands protecting my head, gluing my eyes shut.

"What-"

"April, it's a trick! Don't hesitate"

I already knew where this was leading too.

"WAIT PLEASE NO!" I shrieked into the now empty room. I didn't need to open my eyes to know that the girls dressed in white were now long dead. before either one of them could respond, I tried again.

" Leo, Donnie, Raph, Mikey, Its me! Look! Look at me! What are you doing?!"

I yelled helplessly. By this point, my eyes were no longer glued shut, but wide open, my legs shaking as I stood amongst the fountains of black sludge.

What had gotten into them? Why were they looking at me as if I were a stranger, a freak.

I glanced at my reflection in the still shiny floor.

I was still me.

I was me-I know I'm me-but who's she?

And why does she look freakishly familiar?

"How does she know our names dude?" Mikey spoke, meanwhile my mind screaming out in frustration.

"I'm me, April! Guys! c'mon! April! Friends? Guys?" I managed to stutter out, trying desperately to catch Donnie's glance.

Him and the rest refused to even look my way.

" Because she's computed that way genius" Donnie muttered, again avoiding to make eye contact.

"She could be useful. There are some questions that need to be answered after all" the girl-something my mind still refused to wrap its mind around- stared at me as if I had sprouted a second head. And something else- in compete awe.

I stared at her again, taking in every inch. It was me. But, that's not possible-

Impossible

Impossible, impossible, but the more the clockwork in my brain churned, something, a tiny piece of me clicked.

Those girls dressed in white

When the kraang took something from me-in the invasion

They took my DNA.

And she's a clone.

Just like the rest of them.

"you-you're a-" I sputtered, pointing my finger at the bewildered girl, her hand on the-on my fan. Before I could produce another word, the others had their weapons out and pointed directly at me.

Checkmate.

"Clone." I whispered, and then surprised that the others could actually pick up on my tiny voice, seeing their reactions, eyes wide, and their own clockwork beginning to churn themselves.

"Take her with us" the blue one spoke bluntly, to no one in particular, biting his thumb. I was surprised he hadn't bitten it off.

"What? No way! She could be dangerous!" Raph blurted out, now looking my way-although not in the way I hoped.

His harsh glare cracked something inside me.

"You're a clone-but, how- why aren't you attacking us?" the girl-the clone thought out loud, still with a bewildered look on her face.

"I'm not-I'm April! You're the clone! I'm April! IM APRIL!" I started of scared; with pleading little words growing louder, growing into desperate screams that bounced of the shiny, shiny walls and had the impact of a bullet into my ears, and the rest of us.

"Dude-chillax. We're not gonna hurt you. Right guys?" Mikey, the only true one who looked with empathy towards me. I sent him the puppy dog eyes-after all, he was my only hope.

The others, however, seemed to have other ideas.

"grab her. we'll take her back to splinter and see what he has to say" Leo said, their thick arms suddenly around me.

I lost all urge to fight, a small choking, distressing sound, a whimper came out of me as I was dragged limply into the shellraizer.

I doubt if anyone had even heard.
