Sofia the First: Teaching the Mentor

Sofia giggled in excitement as she dodged a snowball that was thrown by James. The young princess gathered a pile of snow, rolled it into a ball and yelled "Try to dodge this James!" Sofia then thew the snowball and watched it fly towards her brother's fort but as the snowball fight was continued in the garden a certain sorcerer was heading towards the very same place and before Cedric knew it Sofia's snowball hit him in the face after James had dodged it!

Wormwood smirked at his master and began to snicker.. The snow-faced Cedric glared daggers at the raven as as his apprentice ran up to him. "Mr. Cedric, are you okay?" The sorcerer looked at the child then yelled at the top of his lungs "Confound this snow, why in Merlin's name did you throw this slush?" Sofia couldn't help cover her mouth trying not to laugh at his choice of words. Did he really have to get mad about such a small object that wasn't meant for him?

"Sorry Mr. Cedric, the snowball was meant for James. Did you ever have a snowball fight when you were a kid?" The girl asked after she had calmed herself. Cedric then removed the snow from his face deciding to sprinkle some on Wormwood, making the raven have a snow hat. "I didn't have fun Sofia, I had no friends to play with when I was child, so you see I don't even have fun." the man answered her question crossing his arms.

The princess gasped "You never had fun, it's no wonder you're such a grump!" Now it was Cedric's turn to be surprised at her choice of words and glared at her.

James laughed at Sofia's name for Cedric as he walked up to the two friends "You know Cedric, she does have a point. All you do is gather ingredients when you come outside and the rest of the time you stay in in your tower and make potions and spells." The sorcerer glared at the young prince and said sternly "Don't encourage her besides, I don't always stay in my tower. When I am summoned by the royal family I tend to your beck and call but when it's Princess Amber doing the calling it turns into a nightmare."

Sofia giggled, took his hand saying "Well, I think today is your turn to get a lesson on having fun!" Cedric shook his head at the girl "There is no such thing as "Fun Lesson" besides I think we should just stick to me teaching you." James rolled his eyes knowing Cedric was trying so desperately to get away so he could get back to work.

She shook her head "There's a first time for anything Mr. Cedric besides you need this lesson desperately. Why, If I didn't teach you, you would be a miserable sorcerer." She then pulled him to her fort telling James to stand there.

Once they were sitting in their knees in the snow the young princess showed her mentor how to make a snowball. "Now, you got to practice trowing it. You see James standing over there? Pretend he's Bailywick and trow the snowball at him." The sorcerer frown and whined "Couldn't we do it on the real Bailywick?" Sofia sighed then suggested he practice on James first.

Cedric hurled the white ball of sand at the young prince but to his dismay James was able to dodge it. The man pouted having Sofia smile. "Don't worry, James is hard to get but I be Bailywick will be easier." The sorcerer smirked about the easy target and quickly gathered a snowball into his hand.

The two royals and the sorcerer then started to walk to the kitchen where they knew the steward was making preparations for tonight's Winter Ball.

Once the three were behind the doors of the kitchen the two royals began to coax the sorcerer to do it. "You cam do it Mr. Cedric!" Sofia whispered making James agree "Yeah, then after we get Bailywick we can hurl a snowball at Amber!" the prince snickered at his statement as he imagined his twin sister's reaction.

"But if I get caught who knows what your father would do to me! He'll probably put me in the dungeon and fire me!" The sorcerer stated as he to get nervous. "Don't worry, If you get caught I'll take the blame and explain that I was teaching you how to have fun." Sofia said winking. Cedric pondered at the her suggestion then shrugged it off. How could he get scared about trowing a measly snowball!

The three then looked inside the kitchen and saw Bailywick pointing to the direction of the Ball Room. Now is your chance Mr. Cedric." Sofia said as she looked up at her mentor. He nodded and then hurled the snowball at the steward. To his surprised he was able to to hit his target!

Bailywick felt something hit his back and pulled snow out from behind. "How did snow get into the castle?" As the three behind the kitchen door were snickering they then stopped hearing Bailywick yell "Alright, who threw this snowball at me?"

The three hiders covered their mouths in fear wondering what they should do next."Whoever thew this snowball shall be punished and if they don't step up now, they will be fired. I can go though this during the Winter Ball If I have to!" A few more minutes of silence came until Cedric uncovered his mouth and started to get up knowing what exactly he should do.

Sofia followed behind him becoming worried of what kind of punishment she bestowed upon her sorcerer friend. Everyone turned to the kitchen door when Cedric pushed one of the doors open. "I did Bailywick." He answered with his bowed looking at the floor.

"Cedric, I should have known you would do this." Bailywick answered becoming angry. Sofia then stood in front of her mentor with her arms out as James came to Cedric's side. "Don't be so angry at Mr. Cedric Bailywick, I encouraged him to do it. You see I was teaching him how to have fun since he had told me he never had fun in his life so I thought if I taught him how to throw a snowball he would finally learn to have fun and not be such a grump." As she began to explain Sofia spared a glance at her mentor and saw for once today he was smiling.

After she was finished there was a few moments of silence until Bailywick gave a soft smile. "I see, so you wanted to make sure he didn't stay a grump huh?"There was a few snickers from the kitchen staff as the steward said this making Sofia and James join in the laughter. Cedric then boasted "I'm not a grump!" Sofia then hugged him then agreed saying "You're right but now you're a fun grump!"

A/N I'm sorry if this was short to you but I tried to make it as funny as possible. Out of all the stories I wrote for Sofia and Cedric none of them were as funny! So I hoped I did good! Please Read and Review
