Chapter 6
Terri takes a slightly angry walk in the empty hallways from Figgins office to Glee. Yes, she is grateful for still having a job but Glee was more work than she first imagined. With many up and downs. When she thinks that they were finally getting somewhere, something always comes up.
Figgins has just let her know that the school couldn't fund the Glee clubs costumes or transportation to Sectionals. She would take it out of her own pocket but she was already in debt because of her pottery barn addiction. She needed to talk to Santana and the rest of the Cheerios. If anyone knew how to raise money, it would be those three.
"Since Miss Del Monico as not yet arrive and our captain and Quinn are missing, I have taken upon myself to get us ready for Sectional that is in two weeks you guys. First thing we need to do is forget everything that Miss Del Monico and Santana have told us. Just wiped it from your brains." Rachel said waving her hand dramatically to her head as she stood in front of the white board facing everyone.
Nobody paid her any attention.
"If I forget everything that Santana's ever told me, then should I also forget the time when she said that you are evil like Loki from Thor because you are also adopted?" Brittany asked innocently.
"Yes. I would appreciate that. Not all adopted kids are evil." Rachel said with all seriousness.
"How about when she told me..."
"Everything, Brittany." Rachel stopped her not wanting to know what Santana was saying behind her back.
"Rachel, give it a rest." Mercedes rolled her eyes.
"How can you not see that they are setting us up for failure. Especially the Cheerios." Rachel exclaimed.
"You should just trust us, Rachel. We are highly trained to win." Brittany said defending her two best friends.
"No offense, Brittany, but wearing ridiculously short skirts and waving pom poms around won't win us Sectionals."
"Look who's talking." Kurt said eyeing the brunette skirt.
"What? My skirts are at perfect length and I don't twirl and dance around for everyone to gawk at." Rachel retaliated.
"I wish you would." Finn mumbled.
"What Finn?" Rachel glared.
"Umm... I didn't say anything?" Finn gave her his infamous dumbfounded look.
"Alright, Rachel please take a seat." Miss Del Monico said as she came into the room, inadvertently saving Finn from digging himself into a much bigger hole.
"I have bad news." Miss Del Monico announced.
Everyone groaned. It seemed like they could never catch a break. Hopefully they didn't have to do another assembly.
"Wait. Where's Santana and Quinn?" Miss Del Monico asked everyone but she was looking at Brittany.
The blonde shrugged her shoulders.
"They said that they were running late. And that I shouldn't worry." Brittany answered.
"Right. Just when I need her, she bails on me." Terri muttered to herself.
"Miss Del Monico, what is now? Is Figgins trying to shut us down again. It's the Cheerios. Sue Sylvester and her Cheerios have been trying to tear us down from day one." Rachel accused.
Finn looked at his girlfriend confused.
Lately Rachel seemed to have a lot of anger towards the Cheerios for some reason. He couldn't figure it out. Santana, Quinn and Brittany hadn't order a slushy attack on anyone since joining the club. It doesn't mean it hasn't happened, it just meant the attacks weren't coming from them.
"Stop, yapping. It's weird not having Santana here as a barrier between me and you, because she usually the one to get you to stop talking."
Rachel huffed in her seat.
"The funding for our trip and our costume to Sectionals is not existent. Figgins said they just don't have the budget. So I'm sorry, unless we come up with the money ourselves, we won't be able to compete."
Everyone groaned. They just couldn't catch a break. Situations like these were cutting into precious rehearsal time.
Everyone was talking all at once. Terri looked around to see everyone visible very upset at this. These kids really enjoyed this club.
"We could do a bake sell." Tina suggested.
"Does anyone know how to bake? Besides Puck?" Terri asked.
Puck frowned.
"What about car wash? We did that to raise money for new equipment for the football team?" Mike Chang asked. He loved Glee and there was no way he was giving up that easy.
"Does this really have to involve is working for money? Because that just doesn't make sense to me." Miss Del Monico asked. "Does anyone have rich parents that can just give us money?"
Everyone looked around at each other shrugging their shoulders.
"I think we should take Mike up on his suggestion. It would really helps us work together as a team and it would be great for morale." Rachel chimed in.
"Fine." Miss Del Monico relented. "But do I have to be there?"
"I'm going to text Britt to let Miss Del Monico we're not going to make it to Glee." Quinn told Santana as she pulled her phone out.
"Fuck, I'm so fucked." Santana said nervously pacing around the bathroom.
"Calm down. You're going to be okay." Quinn said trying to calm the Latina as she sneaking a peeked at the sink where a pregnancy stick laid.
"My dad is going to kill me. I'm going to kill myself if I have to carry Frankenteen's child. How stupid am I? This is literally the worst thing that can happen to me." Santana ranted.
She had missed her period and immediately freaked out to Quinn. She needed her best friend. Quinn had always came through for her when she was at her worst. Her blonde friend had suggested to take a pregnancy test. She really didn't want to take it at school but she couldn't wait.
Quinn was just as nervous and scared as Santana but she knew Santana needed her to be strong.
"Listen it might be false. Your a growing women, your body going to go through some changes. I think Frannie once had a pregnancy scare. She missed like two periods and she ended up not being pregnant." Quinn tried to reassure her friend.
"What am I going to do, Quinn? With Brittany? This Baby? The Jolly Green Giant?" Santana asked.
"Everything will work out. If it happens, then we'll figure it out. Us. Together. You are not going to go through this alone. I promise you." Quinn starred into the brunette's eye and waiting for Santana to calm down.
Santana nodded. She knew that whatever was coming, if there's anyone that was going to be by her side, it would be Quinn.
"Okay. I think it's done." Quinn said softly grabbing the stick.
"Okay." Santana swallowed nervously.
"Are you ready?" Quinn asked.
"Yeah."
"Remember, what happens, we'll get through this." Quinn reassured.
"Okay, please just tell me."
Quinn looked at Santana before looking down at the stick hoping and praying to see a negative sign.
"What is it?" Santana asked.
Quinn finally looked down at the stick. Everything now was nothing compared to what Santana was going to go through. The stupid fights, cheerleading, glee, it all seems so childish now. Child. Santana was going to be with child.
She slowly flipped it towards Santana.
"I'm sorry, S."
"NO! No.." Santana cried, tears streaming down her face.
Santana slide to the floor and Quinn immediately embraced her crying friend.
"It's going to be okay." Quinn murmured repeatedly into Santana's hair.
After the revelation, Quinn asked Santana if she wanted to skip school, but Santana didn't want to give her parents or anyone at school any suspicion. She also didn't want to worry Brittany. At least school would give her some type of distraction.
Quinn was barely paying attention in class as she was subtly stealing glances at Santana. She felt so bad and had no idea what was going through the brunette's head. She knows that whenever Brittany or Santana were in trouble, she would be the one they would come to for answers. But this tim, she had none. She didn't know what she needed to do to help or make her feel better. She just didn't know.
She was so caught up in her thoughts, she didn't even catch the angry glares that Rachel has been sending her way the whole period or the overly gross affection between Rachel and Finn.
"Hey, give me a second S and I'll walk you to your next class." Quinn said as the bell rang, signally the end of the class. She rushed to gather her things.
"Brittany usually walks with me, and we don't have the next class together so it'll look weird is you start walking with me everywhere, Fabray." Santana chastised.
"I know, but I just thought..." Quinn started.
"I know. Your a good friend, Q" Santana gave her a small smile before leaving.
Quinn watched worriedly as Santana leaved when all of the sudden an argyle sweater came in her view. Quinn slowly stood up from her seat.
"Where were you? You missed Glee this morning? You know it really doesn't look good when after you when a duet for Sectional you skip the a Glee Rehearsal." Rachel bombarded.
Quinn sighed.
"I'm not in the mood today, Rachel." Quinn grabbed her things.
"You lied to me." Rachel said stopping Quinn in her tracks.
"I'm sorry. It wasn't my intentions. I just couldn't do that to Brittany. I didn't think about it before when I made that deal with you," Quinn said trying to walk past the diva, but Rachel wouldn't allow it.
"So it's okay to hurt me and lie to me?" Rachel asked dropping her angry facade.
"No," Quinn told her honestly.
She never wants to hurt Rachel. She doesn't understand why she happens to always be the one causing the brunette pain. Finn does worse things but Rachel seems to never see it or doesn't want to see it.
"Then what is it, Quinn? I don't understand you! Sometimes I think your the sweetest person I ever meet and then sometimes I feel like your the same manipulative Quinn Fabray who use to order slushy attack on me. Maybe you always been her, but you just hide it better."
It hurt Quinn to hear that Rachel still view her as the HBIC or worst her bully. She knew that deep down maybe that what Rachel was afraid of. And when she won the Duet's competition with Brittany, she could see how she lost a lot of Rachel's trust that she worked for.
"Meet me at the auditorium on our free period?" Quinn asked.
"Why would I do that? So you and Santana can plan an attack on me?" Rachel huffed.
"Please." Quinn begged.
Rachel didn't respond. She eyed the blonde to see if she could read anything that might let her believe that the blonde was sincere and wasn't going to play her for a fool again.
"I don't know." Rachel shook her head, hating to admit to herself that she couldn't read the blonde.
Quinn walked closer to the brunette to slowly interlocked their fingers.
"Come on, I want to make it up to you. There is no elaborate plan to embarrass or hurt you." Quinn tried again to convince her.
Rachel's who body shiver slightly when she felt the same electricity she always felt when the blonde touches her. It was very hard to say no to the blonde.
"Please don't disappoint me." Rachel said softly before she pulled her hand from the blonde grasp and brushed past her and berating herself for falling for the frustrating blonde.
Santana didn't like lying to Brittany but she did. When the blonde saw her she immediately asked where she and Quinn where and why they missed Glee. It came out before she could stop herself. Lying to Brittany was probably the hardest thing to do.
She told Brittany that Sue needed to talk to her and Quinn about the Cheerios. It was not unusual. But it was a lie.
This would never happen is she was just honest with herself and didn't get in that stupid fight with Brittany at Puck's party.
She wants to blame Puck for throwing the stupid party on a week day that she knew was a bad idea.
She wanted to blame Finn most of all. She didn't even think that his swimmers where even capable to find their way in there.
A little bit of her wants to blame Brittany for putting pressure on her to be more open in their relationship.
But she didn't. She could only blame herself.
The Unholy Trinity separated themselves from the Glee and Cheerios' table for lunch. Santana didn't really want to be around anybody except for her true friends. She was being unusually quiet, picking at her salad as Brittany was telling the girls what they missed in Glee today.
Out of the corner of her eyes, she sees Finn making his way to the football team's table.
The right thing to do was to let Finn know. Even if she hated his gut, she wasn't evil enough to hide this from him. She stared at him as he was laughing and joking with his friends and he doesn't even have the slightest clue that his life was going to change.
"So Mike said half of us should have one today after school, since it's Friday, and then the other half can work the Saturday Car wash." Brittany finished.
"We'll do it on Saturday. Is that okay with you, S?" Quinn asked, thinking that all Santana wanted to do was go home after school.
"No, I don't want to mess up my weekend. I'll get Miss Del Monico to let us do it today." Santana said.
"Are you sure?" Quinn asked.
"I'm fine, Quinn." Santana silently asking the blonde to drop it. She didn't want Quinn to worry because it would cause Brittany to thinks there's something to worry about.
"Babe, are you okay? You been really quiet today." Brittany asked.
Santana glared at Quinn for making it really obvious. The blonde just gave her an apologetic look.
"Yeah, don't worry about me. Can you get me a bottle of water, please?" Santana asked sweetly.
"Sure."
Santana knew that the blonde would take her time because she usually gets distracted by the plush duck that sat on one of the cashier's register.
"I think I need to tell Finn." Santana whispered.
"What?" Quinn turned sharply to look at the brunette.
"I know I'm a bitch but don't you think he deserves to know?" Santana asked.
"I think the first person you need to tell is your dad." Quinn argued.
"Are you insane? My dad is going to kill me. He can never find out."
"How are you going to hide it from him? You're going to start feeling the sickness, the bump, and the hormones? He's a doctor, they can smell pregnancy."
"I don't know!" Santana said loudly.
"I'm sorry. I just don't think you should tell Finn unless you're 100 percent sure."
"We'll go somewhere else."
"Like where?" Quinn asked.
"Miss Del Monico was a nurse. We can ask her."
"Miss Del Monico gave half the school lice from not cleaning her beds in the nurses station." Quinn looked incredulously at Santana at even suggesting Miss Del Monico.
"What other choice do i have? She probably knows a doctor that's cheap that is not in the same circle as my dad." Santana replied.
"What if it gets out?"
"She'll keep a secret. We'll threaten her with quitting Glee club. She needs us to keep her job."
Quinn was playing random notes on the piano in the auditorium waiting for Rachel. She was already ten minutes late. She sighed heavily as she knew that Rachel didn't trust her.
She softly played the song that she was listening this morning which happens to be Rihanna's "Stay". She hummed the lyrics softly to herself.
Rachel was behind the curtain when Quinn started playing. She was debating with herself for a couple minutes if this was a good idea.
Rachel closed her eyes and just stood there enjoying listening to Quinn. The blonde played effortlessly. She doesn't understand why Quinn didn't participate more in Glee. She clearly has talent that can be beneficial to the club.
Rachel opened her eyes when the music sudden stopped. She can hear the clicking of shoes coming her way and finally reveling the blonde.
Quinn raised an amusing eyebrow.
"Do you realized that you singing along gives away your hiding spot?" Quinn asked smiling walking closer to the brunette so she was standing right in front of her.
"I guess I couldn't help myself. You played beautifully, Quinn."
"Thank my parents for making me take lessons."
"Hmm..."
"So, how are you going to make it up for lying to me Quinn?" Rachel asked getting down to business before she was sidetracked by the blonde's charm.
"I don't know. I just wanted to see you." Quinn admitted.
Rachel huffed.
"Well, you saw me. I'm going to go now." Rachel went to turned around and stop when she felt Quinn hand on her wrist.
"You were better. You and Kurt deserved the Duet. But I couldn't sabotage mine and Brittany's performance. Even if I had, Miss Del Monico would have still chosen us." Quinn explained.
"I guess I'm always going to be a pathetic Lima loser. I just want a chance to showcase my talent. And I feel like everyone is not taken me seriously."
"You will. Trust me. Your going to leave Lima to become something bigger than all of us." Quinn said, the gentleness in her tone is obvious as she reached for Rachel's hands.
Rachel heart fluttered at Quinn's kind words.
"Will you just sit here with me? I can of had an awful day." Quinn asked pointing her head to the table behind Rachel.
Rachel smiled moving backwards pulling the blonde with her.
With all the drama with Santana, being around Rachel made it better.
"What happened?" Rachel asked concerned.
It was easy for her to get lost in moments like this with Rachel until she's pulled back into the harsh reality. Rachel had no idea that her boyfriend had cheated on her and gotten Santana pregnant.
"Nothing." Quinn's heart ached for the girl in front of her.
"Hey," Rachel gently cupped the blonde's face so their eyes could me. "You can tell me. I'm not going to start a gossip around school." Rachel joked.
Quinn quickly moved foreward and kissed Rachel. Maybe she did it to get out of the question but if she was honest with herself, she couldn't resist the small brunette anymore. She's been waiting to reclaimed those gorgeous lips again, it has been too long.
The momentum cased Rachel to leaned back slightly and Quinn quickly reacted by reaching down to grab Rachel's ass to lift her up so she could sit on the table as she stood between her legs, not breaking contact of their lips.
It didn't take long before the kiss became a full on make out. Rachel was enjoying it immensely and has never recalled feeling this way with Finn. Quinn was feeling something similar. She knew the brunette's mouth was talented with talking and singing, but Rachel was also a hell of a kisser.
Rachel wrapped her legs around Quinn's waist making the kiss more fevered and hungry. Quinn right hand trailed inside Rachel's skirt along her smooth soft thigh. Rachel groaned when Quinn sucked on her bottom lip making her wrap her legs tighter if possible.
Rachel released a shaky breath when Quinn removed her lips and started placing kisses on her chin and down her throat.
Rachel was losing all her senses. Never had Finn ever got this far with her. She could feel herself getting wet with each kiss and soft stroke on her thigh. The intensity between them was overwhelming.
Quinn kisses made it back to her lips, slipping her tongue in her mouth making her moan.
"Quinn." Rachel let out trying to gain back some self control when Quinn pull back slightly to breathe.
It seemed like blonde didn't hear her as Quinn pulled her in for another kiss.
"Wait..." Rachel tried again, this time putting her hand on the blonde's shoulder.
Quinn swallowed nervously as she finally woke from her stupor. She licked her lip loving the taste of Rachel.
"What does this mean?" Rachel asked.
Quinn didn't have an answer. It just feels right. Rachel fit perfectly in her arms. She wished she could tell Rachel she wanted everything with her but she wasn't that lucky.
"I don't know. All I know is that when I'm with you, I feel like I'm breathing. Like I'm coming up for fresh air that I didn't even know existed. I like you Rachel. I know you're with Finn and that sucks and i know what we're doing is wrong. But it feels right. We can go back and forth of us avoiding each other but I can't seem to stay away from you. I don't want to. So please don't ask me to." Quinn said finally pouring her heart out to Rachel.
Rachel studied Quinn's face adoringly. She would be lying if she said she didn't feel the same way.
Rachel leaned their foreheads against each other and basking in the blonde's embrace for a moment.
The car wash fundraising looks like it was going to be a success. Somehow Quinn and Santana had managed to convince Sue Sylvester to lend the whole cheerios squad for the Glee club.
Kurt had his suspicion about this. He didn't know what it is yet but he was going to find out. He also for some reason raised his eyebrows when he spots Quinn and Santana talking to Miss Del Monico in the corner where Santana looks to be very upset about something.
"So movies tomorrow?" Mercedes asked snapping Kurt away from the two cheerios and Miss Del Monico.
"Do you feel like something is a little off today?" Kurt asked.
"Yeah. We are washing cars in this god awful weather." Mercedes complained.
"No, I mean with everyone. Look at Quinn and Santana. Something is going on over there. And Rachel and Finn even though they always looked awkward, there's some kind of tension there." Kurt observed.
"Who cares? At least it looks like we'll be going to Sectional with the help of the Cheerios. That has to be a good thing, right?"
"Hmmm..." Kurt agreed.
He looked at Finn again. He had been forming a small crush on the other boy since joining Glee. And doesn't understand how someone ill-fashioned as Rachel was with the stud.
"So you never gave me an answer about that movie?" Mercedes tried again.
"Sure, I am so excited to see "Oz The Great and Powerful" Kurt clapped his hands in excitement. If there was anyone to get his mind off Finn, it was James Franco.
"We'll maybe we can watch something more romantic like "The Lucky One"? Mercedes asked.
Since Santana brought up that Kurt was gay, she just had to know for sure. Kurt and her were such good friends, she didn't believe that if Kurt was gay, why didn't he confined in her.
"Oh..." Kurt deflated.
Kurt didn't mind watching "The Lucky One". He always had fantasy of Finn in an Army outfit.
"We can watch your movie if you want." Mercedes caved.
"No, your choice. I'll even buy you dinner afterwards." Kurt smiled.
Mercedes returned the smile. Dinner and a movie. That definitely sound like a date to her. Maybe Satan was wrong.
"I don't understand. Isn't your dad a doctor?" Miss Del Monico asked.
"Yeah. The most respected doctor in Lima. Even in Ohio. I can't let it get back to him." Santana answered.
"Come on, there's got to be someone you know that can't be trace back to Dr. Lopez." Quinn tried.
"Well, when my sister was pregnant, she went to this doctor out of town that no ones knows about."
"Why did she do that?"
"She was cheating on her husband, so she had to make sure it was his without letting him find out she cheated on him. We still don't know if those evil kids are his."
Quinn looked incredulously at Miss Del Monico. Is she really going to support her friend to go to this probably illegal doctor? She shared a look with Santana, asking her silently if she wanted to go through with this.
"What's the number?" Santana sighed making what is probably another bad decision.
Kurt was passing by Santana and Quinn, who were whispering back and forth with each other, to put away his bucket. Miss Del Monico was no longer with them.
He tried to train his ear to hear their conversation.
"Santana, this is a bad idea." Quinn said worriedly.
"I'm fucked, so what else do you want be to do?" Santana asked.
"What if we go to that clinic and we get some type of disease. Or what if it's one of those hillbilly clinic." Quinn scrunched up her face in disgust.
"Stop freaking me out." Santana stopped the blonde. "I'm been around my dad's hospital plenty of times. It should be a simple pee in a cup procedure to find out if I'm pregnant. Even Finn himself couldn't mess that up."
Kurt eyes widen at the revelation as he walked back to Mercedes.
Thanks for reading!
