Chapter 8

A/N: No beta. I apologize for any mistakes.

"Is anyone actually surprised that Santana got pregnant?" Mercedes asked pointedly.

Today's events had everyone in school buzzing about the biggest gossip they had heard since the cafeteria added tacos to their menu.

The Glee club was no exception.

"The AV club had bets going on actually." Artie piped.

"I wish I got in on that." Puck stated regretfully at missing out on an opportunity. He was never the one to turn down making dirty money.

"So who's the father?" Tina piped in, curiously.

"Can you imagine how evil that baby is going to be?"

Everyone in Glee was talking over each other , through out varies question in disharmony.

Rachel was trying to tuned everyone out. She honestly didn't care about Santana's situation. She did feel sorry for the Latina and never wished this upon her biggest enemy but she was more worried about Quinn. The blonde has yet showed up to the choir room and after the fight with Santana in the hallway, Rachel couldn't help but be concern about her well-being. Physically and emotionally.

"Why do you think Santana attacked Quinn in the halls today?"

Rachel shook her head at her peers, disgusted by the fact that they found this gossip about the cheerleaders entertaining. It's a huge responsibility that nobody their age are ready for or could even comprehend. She knows that even big bad Santana is scared right now.

"I heard beauty queen ratted her out to Sylvester and had her kicked off the Cheerios. Is it weird I find her less attractive now that she's no longer cheerleader? But the pregnancy doesn't bother me." Puck thought out loud.

Everyone looked disgusted by his comment.

Rachel looked around and notice that not only is Quinn missing but so was Brittany.

Rachel wasn't surprised that Santana skipped out for the rest of the day.

Rachel frown deepened when she her eyes landed on Finn on the other side of the room acting unusual. He had a hoodie over his head, looking at the ground and not really engaging with any of the conversation.

She was so concern about Quinn, that she didn't realized that Finn as been acting strange ever since he walked in the choir room. He looked a little nervous as he tried to be very inconspicuous. A task that he completely failed at. The only reason others didn't notice was because they were so caught up in the Cheerio's drama.

Before she could give anymore thought to her boyfriend's strange behavior, Miss Del Monico finally arrived.

"Okay, enough with the gossip." Miss Del Monico demanded as she stood in front of the class by the piano.

Everyone stopped their chattering and found their respective seats.

"We need to be supportive of our captain, so I don't want to hear anymore gossip or negative comments." Terri really was worried about Santana, but she was really concern that Santana would bail on her at Sectionals. She couldn't afford losing this competition.

"I don't want to sound selfish but Sectionals is in two of days, and our whole club is dismantling. Quinn, Brittany, and Santana are missing. Who knows when they'll be back and this crunch time people." Rachel decided to focus on glee club to get herself not to worry about Quinn at the moment.

"We can't do anything without Santana, she's singing the solo. And Brittany and Quinn are our Duets performance, so they just screwed us over." Kurt said as his shoulder slumped slightly in an unlikely manner.

"Exactly like we said they would." Mercedes chimed in, never failing to support her friend.

"Actually I said that." Rachel muttered to herself.

"Where the faith? I know Santana and the rest of the Cheerio's would be back tomorrow. They just need to cool off." Miss Del Monico said confidently.

"Miss Del Monico, Did you not see the fight in the hallway today. Quinn and Santana hate each other. There is no way they are coming back." Artie argued.

"Quinn will come back." Rachel chimed in quickly with absolute confidence that the blonde wouldn't let her down.

"Santana wouldn't do that to me." Terri said with equal confidence as Rachel.

"Who cares about Sectionals? Who's the father?" Puck said.

"We thought it might be you." Artie admitted.

Puck frowned.

"No way. I got a vasectomy a long time ago." Puck smiled.

"That's not even legal." Rachel rolled her eyes.

"Do I look like someone who does anything legal?" Puck smirked.

Rachel narrowed her eyes.

He does have a point.

"Okay, then who is it?" Artie asked again.

"It doesn't matter. That information is something that she tells to her closes confidant. Since I haven't heard anything, I doubt anyone else knows. Let's focus on our dance routines." Miss Del Monico said.

After Quinn had clean up and covered up her bruises the best she could in the girl's restroom, she had all intention to head straight to Glee.

But when she stepped out of the bathroom, she came face to face with a angry and upset Brittany. She gulped at the sight waiting for the taller blonde to speak first.

Brittany stopped her and demanded her to take her to the park and proceeded towards the Cheerio's parking lot where Quinn usually parks her car, leaving the head cheerleader behind confused by the strange request.

They drove in uncomfortable silence making Quinn anxious and nervous. She has never experience her blonde friend act this way. Brittany was always happy and full of life. To be honest Quinn was a little scared of Brittany right now. She almost puts her HBIC title to shame.

Quinn almost sighed in relief when she saw they were near the park and the anticipation was almost over. Brittany has not said one word and was staring straight ahead the entire ride.

Quinn pulled up to the closest parking spot and turn off the ignition.

"Brittany, I'm..."

Quinn stopped when she heard the passenger door open and saw that Brittany was quickly exiting the vehicle.

Quinn sighed heavily before copying the blonde and walked to where Brittany had gone, which was at a bench facing the pond. Quinn took a seat next to her friend and they just sat in silent. She figure Brittany just wanted to get away from everyone and tried to think clearly without hearing gossip and rumors spreading around the school.

"You knew, didn't you?" Brittany finally said emotionless, staring straight ahead at the pond.

Quinn hesitated for a moment and thought about lying, but she figured there is no point to it now.

"Yeah." Quinn simply confessed.

"What didn't you tell me?" Quinn can hear the hurt laced in her friend's voice.

"Because you should have heard it from Santana."

"Yeah, I should have. She had every opportunity to tell me, but she didn't. And now I'm asking you, as one of my best friends."

Quinn let out an exasperated sigh.

Although Quinn was furious with Santana, she felt if she told Brittany everything, she would be betraying the Latina.

Brittany shook her head in disappointment at the blonde's hesitation.

"I deserved to know." Brittany pleaded.

Quinn sighed.

She was struggling internally with conflicted feeling. But Brittany was right. She deserved the truth.

"What do you want to know?" Quinn relented.

Santana is the asshole that screwed up. And although it's not Quinn's place to tell Brittany, Santana's failure to do so, put her in this uncomfortable situation to begin with.

"When?" Brittany asked simply.

"When did I find out or when it..." Quinn asked uncertain.

"When did she cheat on me?" Brittany asked clarified sharply.

"At Puck's party." Quinn replied.

Brittany chuckles dryly. She remembers that night. They were fighting and Santana was really drunk. She had left the party early because she was so frustrated with her secret girlfriend.

"Who?" It didn't really matter to Brittany who Santana had slept with but she was so numbed that the question came out automatically.

Quinn could see the tears forming in her friend's eyes and her voice started to shake. She hated seeing Brittany like this. She never wanted to hurt the other blonde.

"Brittany, I really think..."

Brittany cut her off again.

"Who Quinn?" Brittany raised her voice. She hated Quinn trying to treat her like a child. She wanted to know everything. Even if it hurts. And she wanted Quinn to tell her.

Quinn's eyes widen in shock at the other blonde's tone.

"I understand none of this is your fault and Santana's is ultimately to blame and you were just being her friend by keeping her secret, but when are you going to start being my friend?" Brittany asked as tears wear running down her face.

Quinn felt her heart dropped to her stomach.

At this moment she really hated herself.

She hated Santana.

The brunette's mistake has effected her friendship with Brittany. A friendship she cherish more than anything.

"I know everyone thinks that I'm this idiotic blonde..."

"Hey! You're not an idiot." Quinn scooted closer and reached over to put her arms around the crying blonde.

"Stop. Please. Just leave me alone." Brittany pulled away, rejected Quinn's attempted to console her and stood up from the bench to create some space.

Quinn stood up as well.

"Brittany, I'm sorry."

Brittany wrapped her arms around herself.

"You're right. When Santana didn't tell you, I've should have. Or I should have tried harder to convince her to tell you. But the whole situation is so fucked up. I made a mistake. And I really hope that it doesn't tear our..." Quinn motion her hands to both of them. "...friendship apart."

"You and Santana have a closer bond. I understand that. I get it. You would have her back before mine..."

Quinn stepped closer.

"That is not true." Quinn said sternly.

Does Brittany really think that?

"Isn't it?" Brittany shot back.

"This is not my fault. I can't believe..." Quinn wanted to pull her hair out, she was so frustrated.

"I can't believe you won't tell me who the father is?" Brittany screamed back outraged.

Quinn hand clenched tightly by her side. She was so angry and conflicted.

"She ruined us. She created this whole mess and you're still defending her." Brittany yelled.

The two blondes were staring at each other, both breathing very heavily.

Brittany crossed her arms across her chest, creating a tough stance while waiting for the other blonde's answer.

Santana was driving aimlessly around town after she left school property. Before that she spent 20 minutes crying in her car in the middle of the school parking lot. After she calmed herself down, she berated herself when she realized anyone could have walked by and see the tough cheerleader, now ex-cheerleader, breaking down. She started her car and quickly pulled out of the parking lot. She was trying to kill time, prolonging the inevitable angry wrath that she knew her dad was going to unleash on her. She had no intentions of going home until she probably runs out of gas.

She had thought about running away and starting a new life where nobody knew who she was. She had a descent amount of money put away. But realistically, she knew she couldn't possibly do that and take care of a baby.

Taking another random turn, Santana noticed the park that she and Brittany often visit, was straight ahead.

She had texted Brittany amount 50 times, and has yet received a response. Santana knew that the blonde has definitely heard all the gossip around school while she was being reprimanded by Principal Figgins. There was no telling how furious and upset the blonde would be with her.

Why did she have to mess up the most important relationship she has ever experienced?

Before she realized what she was doing, Santana pulled up to the park. She furrowed her eyebrows in confusion when she noticed Quinn's car was already parked right beside her. Her ears were fuming at the thought of her so called best friend. Her big mouth, manipulative, evil friend was the caused of all her problems.

Santana angrily got out of her car and went searching for the blonde. Mr. Shue wasn't here to save the blonde now and she was going to take this opportunity to make sure Quinn paid for all of this.

"Quinn, please just tell me. Why are you protecting her?" Brittany asked frustrated that the head cheerleader has yet to say anything.

"This is unfair." Quinn cried.

"You think this is fair to me?"

"I'm sorry..."

"Stop apologizing!" Brittany shouted. "I'm asking you to be honest with me!"

"Okay, fine! You want to know so badly...it's Fi..."

Brittany eyes widen in shocked as she saw a flash of brown hair and Quinn being tackled to the ground really hard.

"You bitch!" Santana sat on top of the blonde, putting all her weight on her, and started throwing punches, aiming at her pretty face.

"Santana!" Brittany screeched and ran over to pull the apart the two best friends.

"Santana stop!" Quinn covered her face for protection, not fighting back knowing that the Latina could be with child.

"I'm going to make you fucking pay..." Santana was full of raged and was ignoring both of the blondes' cry.

Brittany was terrified for Quinn. Santana didn't look like she was going to stop. She was blinded by fury.

Brittany tried again to get in between her two friends.

"Brittany move out of the way." Santana pauses her punches. She didn't want to accidentally hurt the taller blonde.

Quinn used the momentary distraction to use all of her strength and flip the brunette off of her.

"What is wrong with you?" Quinn shouted as she finally was able to get up off of the ground. She was holding her face that was now gushing with blood, reopening the wound that she had earlier.

"Maybe you will get kick off the Cheerios now that your face is fucked up." Santana said rushing towards the blonde again. "They won't eve recognize you when I'm done."

"Santana, stop it!" Brittany quickly ran in front of the Latina and put both hands on her shoulder, preventing her from attacking Quinn again.

"Brittany, get out of my way!" Santana gritted through her teeth.

"NO!" Brittany stood tall, staring down at the brunette.

"She got me kicked off the Cheerios" Santana argued.

"I did not!" Quinn defended herself.

"You are a fucking liar." Santana shot back.

Brittany put her hands on Santana again when she notice her getting back in attack mode.

"YOU"RE the fucking liar." Brittany said staring coldly in Santana's eyes before pushing her back.

Both girls stood still in shock. They have never heard the blonde curse ever.

"Britt..."

Santana reached forward to grab her hands.

"Don't...just...!" Brittany pulled away from the her and move back to create some distance.

The three Cheerios stood in a triangle in the park, staring at each other. You can only hear the heavy breathing coming from the shorter blonde and the brunette. The tension between the three girls filled that park with erie silence.

At this moment, Quinn felt it. She felt the ending to their friendship. Right here in this park was when they would all go their separate ways. She knew these girls since she was five years old and she would never thought that it would end like this. They did everything together. Cheerios, camping, sleepover, movies...everything. Knowing that this was the end was the most unsettling feeling she has ever felt. She wanted to throw up. She wanted to break down and cry.

Their friendship didn't even make it past high school.

Quinn scoffed unbelievably at the thought that all this was all caused by a stupid mistake.

She took a deep breath before turning to face Santana first.

"I didn't tell Sylvester." She stared straight in the Latina's eyes.

Santana met her eyes for a moment before breaking contact first. She knew the blonde was telling the truth. Quinn had stood by her this entire time. There was so many things crashing down on her she couldn't think straight.

Quinn then turned her head to look at Brittany.

"Finn Hudson is the baby's father." She said answering her question not caring what consequences it may cause.

At with that, she turn to walk away.

Away from her longest friendship.

Away from the two people she considered family more than her own.

"Oh my god." Brittany covered her mouth, surprised by the revelation that Quinn dropped before she left.

"It was a mistake. I was really drunk." Santana confessed.

"Did he take advantage of you?" Brittany couldn't help herself to give the Latina the benefit of the doubt. She really wanted to just wake up from this nightmare.

Santana sighed and looked shamefully at the ground. It would have been easy to lie and blame Finn but she needed to own up to this. Lying has only created her problems.

"No, he didn't force me."

"But you hate Finn."

"I still hate Finn. I was so drunk, I probably would have slept with Jacob Ben Isreal."

"How could you do this? Were you trying to punish me because I wanted to show everyone that we were together?"

"No! I wasn't trying to punish you! It was a stupid mistake."

Brittany shook her head.

"I don't... What do we do now?"

"I'm so sorry." Santana said not know what else to say.

"Why didn't you just tell me. If it was a mistake, why didn't you let me know? And now you're pregnant?" Brittany asked incredulously.

"I fucked up."

Brittany shook her head again.

"I'm tired of you being afraid. I'm tired of always arguing with you. I'm just tired of all of it."

Santana was silent.

She didn't know what she could do to fix this.

"I think we should take a break."

"You're breaking up with me?" Santana chokes out a sob at the realization.

She knew this was going to happen, but to hear it and for it to actually happen was devastating.

"Were we really ever together?" Brittany threw back in her face before leaving the crying brunette to herself.

"Stop right there, Finn Hudson." Rachel demanded when she saw Finn ran to the door as soon as Miss Del Monico released them from rehearsals. She had managed to stop him in the hallway.

"Hey, I have to get straight home. My mom needs my help to clean the yard." Finn quickly said trying get out of there before Rachel sees his face.

Rachel grabbed a hold of his arm and turned him around to face her. She reached up on her toes to pull down his hood that he was wearing the entire time during Glee rehearsals.

"Take off your glasses." Rachel ordered.

"That's really pointless, Rach. I'm heading outside. The suns very bright today..." Finn argued.

"Now." Rachel said sternly.

Everyone has already left, so Rachel wasn't worry about creating a scene in the empty hallway.

Finn released an exaggerated sighed when he realized Rachel wasn't going to let him go.

He slowly pulled off his sunglasses.

Rachel stepped back ad gasped sharply at the sight of her boyfriend.

"Who did this?"

"It was something stupid in football practice." Finn adjusted his backpack nervously, as he lied to his girlfriend.

Rachel didn't believe him for a second.

"You have a ring mark on your face." Rachel pointed.

"I guess one of the guys forgot to take off his jewelry, It's not a big deal." Finn shrugged nonchalantly.

"Stop lying to me." Rachel patience was wearing thin.

"I'm not lying. God, why are you making this a big deal. I get hurt at practice all the time." Finn raised his voice getting defensive.

He was getting tired of her accusation.

"Stop attacking me and turning this around on me."

"You are the one accusing me of lying."

"I know for a fact that the bruise on your face is from a hard slap, I'm guessing probably female. I have been studying how to perfect the ultimate slap if I were to ever star in a Soap Opera, probably to make money until I finally made it on Broadway. So if you lie to me again you are going to receive a daytime Emmy award winning slap on the other side of your face," Rachel threaten.

Rachel hated violence but Finn was getting on her nerves.

Finn looked at Rachel in shocked. He was absolutely terrified of her right now. He has experience Angry Quinn, but Angry Rachel was way worse.

"Santana slapped me." Finn clenched his eyes shut, awaiting for her to slap him.

Rachel looked confused.

"Why would Santana slap you?"

"I..."

"No more lies." Rachel interrupted.

"Rachel, I made a mistake. I hope you can forgive me." Finn said with his usual puppy dog face that always seemed to work on his girlfriend in the past.

It was worth a shot to try it.

"What are you talking about?" Rachel asked still confused.

"Well, at Puck's party..." Finn started, shuffling his feet, nervously.

Rachel gasped as the realization slapped her across the face. She knew where this was going.

"You cheated on me and got Santana pregnant?" Rachel asked in disbelief. She thought the two hated each other.

"Well, we don't know if that baby is mine. You know Santana right? She gets around."

"You're unbelievable." Rachel looked at him ashamed.

"We were drunk."

Rachel scoffed at the excuse.

"The beginning of all huge mistakes starts with that sentence."

"I'm not in love with her. I don't even like her."

"That does not make me feel better. You had sex with someone else."

"It's not like you were giving it up." Finn muttered.

"Oh my god." Rachel exclaimed.

"Why are you not crying?" Finn asked out of the blue, switching gears.

"What?" Rachel sometimes had a hard time understand Finn's thought process.

"I just told you that I cheated on you and got a girl pregnant and you're not weeping historically."

"You mean hysterically, you man child." Rachel automatic corrected.

"Whatever." Finn threw his hands up in frustration.

"Well, I'm sorry to disappoint. Is that the reaction you wanted? For me to cry over you?" Rachel asked incredulously looking at her idiotic boyfriend.

"You are weirdly in love with me. Almost stalker-ish. And now you're just acting normal. Like you don't really care. You're not even yelling at me."

"How are you turning this on me? You are really selfish." Rachel was starting to see what everyone was saying amount Finn. How self-involved he is.

"Are you seeing someone behind my back?" He asked angrily.

"You cheated on me!" Rachel cried incredulously.

"We were drunk!" Finn shouted in self-defense.

"I can't not believe you. I don't know what I ever saw in you."

"I was honest with you. I know you're cheating, tell me who it is. Is it Puck?"

"We're over!" Rachel had enough.

She turned around and walked away. She wanted to get as far away from Finn.

"Don't walk away from me!" Finn grabbed her arm.

"Let go of me." Rachel tried to maneuver out of his grip.

"Rachel, I deserved the truth."

Rachel struggle slightly in his stronger arms before striking him in the face.

"Bitch!" Finn let go of her arm to grab his face in pain.

"Don't ever touch me again!" Rachel ran quickly to her car.

It was the first time she was afraid of Finn.

Santana sat defeatedly on the same bench that the blondes' had occupied earlier at the park. Her life is falling apart just like she thought it would only it hurts worse than she could ever imagine. And she hasn't even seen her parents yet. Even though she wants to wait it out as long as she could, the sun was going down and she knew if she wasn't home soon before her father would sent out everyone he knew to search for her. She didn't want to face anyone right now.

Santana has thought about running away. Pack up and leave. Start a whole new life. It sounds scary but she was more scared of her dad. News around Lima travels fast and she was positive that her parents heard what is going on.

When the sun started to disappear, she had finally drugged herself towards her car and took the long route to her house.

It didn't take her more than ten minutes to get to her house from the park. Probably the fastest ten minutes of her life.

"You stupid girl."

Santana was bombarded my her mother the second she stepped foot in the house.

"Where the hell have you been?"

"I'm sorry." Santana knew better that to say anything when her mother was angry. She put her head down and accepted the angry spanish rant her mother was spewing at her.

"I can't not believe I raised a daughter to be that stupid. Do you know that you embarrassed your family. We giving you everything. And you repay me my giving me a heart attack? I had to find out from Silvia that I am going to me a grandmother. Are you trying to cause me to go..."

"Maribel, that's enough."

Santana looked up at the sound of her father's stern voice. She was greeted with cold eyes filled with anger, disappointment and disgust. Something that she's never seen before. Unlike her mother, her dad with more of a silent killer.

"In my office." He demanded before leaving the room, not waiting for a response.

Santana sighed.

"I'm very disappointed in you, mija." Her mother said before walking into another room.

Santana felt like such a failure.

When she followed her dad in his office, he was facing the window behind his desk, his back towards her. She was never in his office. Only when she was in trouble. This place always gives her the creeps.

"Dad..." Santana started

"Not a word. Hearing your voice and your empty apologizes are just going to get me more angry than I already am." He turned around to face her.

"I was drunk..."

"Oh, I didn't know you were also breaking the law." He said in a sarcastic tone.

"Right. I have no excuse."

"Who is this...boy that has managed to get my little girl to bear a child.?" Her dad spat out in distaste.

"His name is Finn Hudson." Santana looked at her lap, she could no longer stand to stare in disappointed eyes.

"Quarterback?" IQ about zero? Did he use a condom?"

Santana didn't reply.

"I see. And what about Brittany?"

"What about Brittany?" Santana asked confused.

"I know."

Santana was speechless.

"I caught you guys in your bedroom one day when I came home early."

"Why didn't you say anything?" Santana asked trying to let the thought of her father seeing her in whatever it was she and Brittany were doing. She knows that they were probably naked.

"I wanted you to be comfortable to tell me when you were ready. That is a self-discovering moment in your life that nobody should be allowed to tell you how you should do anything."

"You knew?" Santana mouth hung open at her father's revelation.

"Where did you go? What clinic? Have you been to one?" Her dad asked getting back to business, ignoring her question.

They would have to talk about that later.

"The one outskirts of town called near a Taco Bell and a nudie bar... " Santana looked down at the floor, shamefully.

"You stupid girl." Mr. Lopez stomped to the other room. He knew exactly which one she was talking about. He has been trying to close them down for some time now. Their practice was unethical and horrible. The thought of Santana even step in that place disgust him. He laughed and shook his head in false amusement.

Santana stared at her father flabbergasted by his reaction.

"Let's go."

"What?"

"I can not believe I raised my daughter stupid enough to go down to a rundown clinic. You could have walked out with even more symptoms than pregnancy and stupidity. I'm running a test on you myself."

Santana and her dad drove to the hospital in uncomfortable silence. Santana could feel her dad fuming in the seat next to her. She was daddy's little girl but right now she felt like a cockroach that her dad wanted to step on.

Without saying a word her father did all the necessary test procedure and more. Although she felt like the needle stab her more harder than it should when he took her blood test.

Now they were waiting in the hospital cafeteria for the results. Her dad said it would take at least an hour.

"So, I want you to tell me what happened. Everything. I know about you and Brittany, so don't leave anything out." Her father said after he sipped his coffee.

Santana told him the whole story. How Puck had a party on a school day and how she snuck out of the house to keep an eye on Brittany. The fighting, the drinking, the mistake, and the lying. Every part of the story was received with a disappointed shake, one after the other.

She felt herself dying inside.

"Why didn't you come to me first? Who knows what diseased you could have gotten at that awful clinic. I tested you for sexual transmitted disease also by the way."

"God, that would be the icing to the cake."

"Let's hope not."

"I don't know why I didn't tell you. I was so scared."

"I will be angry and I will be disappointed, but I would still be your father. I'm here to look out for you and help you anyway I can. I trusted you to come to me when you have an issue. So you don't have to go through this alone. I love you, Santana."

"I love you too, Papi. I was so scared you were going to hate me and throw me out in the street."

"Come here," her dad demanded softly, having sympathy on his only child.

Santana got up from her chair and curled in her father's lap.

This was the most comfort she felt all day.

She finally felt safe.

"It's almost about that time." He said softly in her hair after a couple minutes.

"Just one more minute." She said as she wrapped her arms tighter around his neck.

She sighed in relief when she felt her father smile softly on her shoulder. It was the first time in the last couple of weeks, she knew that everything would be alright.

Pregnant or not.
