Even If It Hurts

Chapter One: A Fool

"Oh come on now, Tom, "Lucius Malfoy, one of the richest students at Hogwarts, "She's bloody hot. "

"She's not of Pure Blood, "Tom told one of his best, let's say, followers, "Besides, I have no interest in pety romances, like yourself, Lucius. "

"Whatever, Riddle, "Lucius rolled his eyes.

Severus was quiet during the conversation. It wasn't abnormal. He never told the others, but Lucius had a sneeking suspicion it had something to do with the Evans girl seeing the Potter boy.

Don't get either of the two young men wrong, Severus was great to have around, but sometimes he was just a buzz kill.

But Lucius had better things to worry about than just Severus. He had to prepare to inheirit his fortune. WIth his mother dead since childbirth and his father on his death bed, Lucius had to find 'the one' he could marry and bare his heir. Lucius has dated around but never found 'her' so to speak.

But, his eye had caught someone. Narcissa Black was a year younger than he was. A fellow Slytherin and completely inticing. Her sister, Bellatrix, and her cousin, Sirus, were in his year. He got along with Sirus grandly, in fact he introduced him to Narcissa. It was Bellatix who eventually told Lucius that Narcissa had come to fancy him.

Lucius shook his head. Lately, he was planning something huge to ask Narcissa if she would court him. For an unknown reason inside of himself, Lucius wanted to please Narcissa in anyway possible.

"I'll rule this world one day, "Tom started in, on one of his daily rants about how he will take over the Wizarding World, "Then all Muggles would be no more. No more mudbloods. Isn't that a world you would like to live in gentlemen?"

Lucius just nodded his head, hoping that Tom would just shut up, but knowing he wouldn't. Tom Riddle was just simply all talk and no action. Lucius was begining to question why he was even friends with this guy.

"Don't go playing a fool now, Tom, "Severus had finally spoken up, "There might just be some people willing to take you on. "

"Oh, hush your nonsense, Severus, "Tom rolled his eyes, "You're too hung up on Lily to focus on anything straight. "

"I have to depart now, gentlemen, "Lucius stated, walking away from the two.

He was walking very hurrily back to the Slytherin Common Room when he bumped into Narcissa Black herself.

"Lucius, "Narcissa said, taking a second to compose herself. That was the thing about her, Narcissa made sure she had herself pulled together before she did anything. She was the most regal person Lucius had ever met, making her even more right to fit in with his family's stature within the wizarding world.

"Narcissa, "Lucius replied, "a lovely day, isn't it?"

"Beautiful weather, yes, "she told him, pushing back a strand of her dark brown locks, "One might to say perfect. "

"Would you fancy a stroll then, perhaps?" Lucius asked, automatically kicking himself for doing that.

"I wouldn't mind that at all, Lucius, "the younger woman replied with a sincere smile.
