Even If It Hurts

Chapter Two: The Process

Lucius led Narcissa out to the gardens on the back part the campus. For an unknown reason, Lucius was nervous and occasionally, he stumbled over his own feet. Lucius managed not to stutter however, trying to at least impress the younger woman.

"I've never been to this part of the castle, "Narcissa told him, sitting down on a nearby bench, "it's beautiful here. "

"Yes it is, "Lucius admitted, although what he was looking at was not the magical flowers, "A great place to escape if you need to. There's a gate right over there leading to the Southern Woods. You could go through there and never come back if you wanted to. "

"It's idea, isn't it?" Narcissa laughed.

"If you want it to be, "Lucius agreed.

"Isn't it peculiar, "Narcissa asked, "how Riddle is always saying how he'll one day rule the world?"

"He's only talk, "Lucius laughed, "Like he has any capability to do anything. "

"I see, "Narcissa said, shaking her head.

"I honestly don't know why we're friends, "Lucius admitted.

For some reason, Lucius felt comfortable with Narcissa. It was a feeling that he hasn't felt before, but could fancy getting used to.

Narcissa pushed back a fly piece of hair as she looked at the sky. Lucius made sure to etch the image into his memory.

"Have you ever looked at the sky and just stared at it for a while, hoping you could become a bird and fly away?" Narcissa asked him.

"No not really, "Lucius said.

"It helps when you're sad. Or mad. Or just feeling anything at all. It relaxes you in a way that I can't describe, "she told him, giving a small smile.

"I'll have to try it one day then, "the young man sighed, "We should be heading back, it's getting dark and dinner will be served soon. "

"I'm afraid you're right, Lucius. "Narcissa sighed, getting off the bench.

Lucius was actually quite upset at the fact that the evening was over. If this is what falling in love was like, Lucius wasn't quite sure he wanted any part of it.

But he wouldn't want to fall in love with anyone else.
