Luigi and Dimentio
Chapter 4: A new ally?
Dimentio, Mr. L, and Luigi have arrived at a floating island in the sky. There was an item shop on the left, a smoothie bar to the right, and the ever-so famous Glitz Pit in front of them.
"The Glitz Pit?" Luigi asked. "Why are we here?"
"Your next trial of course." Dimentio said. "I hope you like fighting; you'll be doing a lot of it. While you're doing that, I'll be watching from the stands enjoying a nice hot dog."
"And I'll be over at that bar." Mr. L said with a smile, walking toward the smoothie bar.
Dimentio snapped his fingers, teleporting Luigi and himself to a rundown locker room.
"I've registered you as a fighter already. Just use the terminal that looks like a purple Gameboy advance to sign up for a ranked fight." Dimentio said. "And don't think you can escape, I have eyes in the sky."
"But what's my fighter name?" Luigi asked. "It better not be something stupid."
"Ahahaha, why spoil the surprise?" Dimentio asked, teleporting away to the stands.
Luigi sighed and walked over to the terminal.
'How the heck do I work this thing?' Luigi thought.
He pressed a random button and the screen turned on. A female toad with large glasses, some blonde hair, pink spots, and a bright red suit was on the monitor.
"Ah, you must be the newcomer." She said. "The fighter called 'The Green Plunger."
There was a faint laugh outside of the locker room.
"Anyways Mr. Plunger, your first fight is all set." She said. "I'll have the security guard escort you to the ring."
"Wait, how many fights do I have to go through?" Luigi asked.
"Since you are ranked 21st, you have to win 20 fights to reach 1st." The toad said. "And try not to get hurt too bad; our health insurance isn't the best." She then hung up.
"Oh man, this is going to hurt." Luigi said out loud.
The door opened and a man in a black suit who had blonde hair and black sunglasses stepped inside.
"Hey Plunger." He began. "Time for your fight, let's go chump."
Luigi nodded and followed him out into the hallway. On the way to the ring, he noticed eyes looking at him from the ceiling.
'I guess this is what Dimentio meant by "Eyes in the sky.' Luigi thought.
They reached a steel door with a red symbol on it.
"Go on through, your first fight waits." The guard said.
Back At Flipside
O'chunks and Bowser decided to spar on the third floor of Flipside while Mimi and Tippi went to Saffron's kitchen for Count Bleck's remedy.
"You sure about this, Chunky?" Bowser asked.
"Oh come on Bowser." O'chunks said, taking a fighting stance. "Le's jes fight fer ol' time's sake."
"We just fought three hours ago." Bowser pointed out.
"So?" O'chunks asked.
There was a long pause.
"Good point." Bowser said, taking his fighting stance.
Mimi and Tippi were making their way to the inn with Count Bleck's remedy.
"Hey Tippi, how do you know the Count?" Mimi asked.
"What do you mean?" Tippi asked.
"Don't play dumb with me." Mimi said. "I heard you yell the name 'Blumiere' when you were in the Count's lair, so spill it."
"Fine." Tippi said.
She told Mimi all about how she and Count Bleck (Blumiere) were once lovers but were driven apart.
"That's amazing." Mimi said, touched by her story. "But do you still feel the same way about him all those years ago?"
There was a pause from Tippi. "I'm not sure."
Back at the Glitz Pit
"Okay." Luigi said, panting as he entered the major league locker room. "I've gotten into the major league and only broke my left arm… no problem."
Dimentio teleported into the locker room. "It's a good thing you didn't fail any of those battles. Otherwise you would have been unfortunately crushed by the giant monitor."
"You're insane." Luigi responded.
"Oh, come now." Dimentio said. "Don't be like that. You only have one more fight to go and you become champion. That, and you complete yet another trial."
Dimentio snapped his fingers, causing Mr. L to appear.
"So what say you and me… what's the big idea Dimentio!?" Mr. L yelled. "I was in the middle of something!"
"Well it can wait." Dimentio said. "Don't you want to see Luigi's downfall?"
"Well thanks for the encouragement." Luigi said sarcastically.
"Ta Ta, Luigi." Dimentio said, teleporting Mr. L and himself to the stands of the arena.
