50 Shades of Starlight
A story of friendship and heartbreak
Italy cried as he collapsed against the cold, stone wall. He knew it was to late for him. "Germany, run! I'll hold him off!" Italy yelled and stood up confidently, a tear running down his face. Italy needed to be strong, for Germany. "No! Italy I won't leave you!" cried Germany, devastated. A tear escaped his eye as he ran to Italy. Suddenly, a huge mass of fur flew towards Italy. The humanoid creature snarled, showing it's bloodstained fangs. Italy unsheathed his sword and thrust it at the creature. "Go! It's to late for me!" yelled Italy, "I'm right behind you big brother Romano", he whispered. Germany blindly tore through the forest, bawling. He was abruptly pulled behind a tree. A man with straight, black hair and a white coat crouched there, looking around suspiciously. The creature ran past, howling. "Don't worry you're safe now" said the strange man. "W-who are you?" Germany stuttered, frightened. "I'm Japan, now hurry let's get back to camp" said Japan. They ran through an abandoned town, with corpses strewn across the streets. They arrived at a broken down cottage, with a caved in roof. "This is your base?" Germany asked surprised. "Quiet, the werewolves are still about" whispered Japan. They went around to the back of the house. Japan quietly knocked on the wall seven and a half times. Germany was surprised to see a hidden door open, "Hurry, get in!" said a hushed voice from inside. Germany stepped inside to a small, dark room. "Down here" Japan said, opening a trap door. The trap door revealed a long staircase. Germany followed Japan down the stairs. They walked into a well lit room with a few people. A person sat at a table watching the door. A cat sat on his head and another sat in between his feet."I found this person running through the woods" said Japan, pointing to Germany. "Make yourself at home, my name's Greece" said the person sitting at the table. "You can stay in this room" said Japan, leading Germany to a spacious bedroom. There was a large bookcase, filled with books. A torch was mounted on the wall, and directly below it was an old, wooden chest. There were two beds, someone was sitting on one of them, with a small yellow bird sitting on his head. "Good morning! My name's Prussia, and this fellow is Gilbird! I am awesome"He said pointing to the bird on his head. "You do know it's the middle of the night" Japan responded. "What was that? I couldn't hear you over my awesome" Prussia said awesomely. Japan sighed. "There's a fresh change of clothes in the chest" Japan said, and left the room. Germany lied in the bed but all he could think about was Italy. Germany tossed and turned for hours, the pain of losing him was so great he couldn't get any rest. Eventually, Germany cried himself to sleep. Germany awoke to someone entering the room. When his eyes got used to light he saw that it was Italy! "Italy! Y-you're alive!" Cried Germany, tears of joy in his eyes. Germany leapt up and hugged Italy. "Ouch!" Winced Italy. "You're injured!" Germany cried, looking down to see him bandaged. "I'll be fine" Italy said smiling, "I'm so happy to see you!" they heard a loud thumping from above. "What was that?" Germany asked. Then they heard the splintering of wood, and a scream. A large creature was coming for them! "Werewolves! Run!" Yelled Japan, but it was to late. The door came crashing down, and three werewolves ran in. One bit into Japan's side and tore out a large chunk of flesh. Japan collapsed, unconscious. "No!" Yelled Germany. The werewolves ran towards the back of the base. "Come on! Let's get out of here!" Cried Italy, grabbing Germany's arm. They ran up the stairs, and found Greece waiting at the door. "That's all of them! Let's go!" yelled Greece and ran out of the house. Italy and Germany caught up to the escaping refugees. "WEREWOLVES FROM ABOVE!" yelled Nicholas Cage and the rest of the refugees escaped into the ground. "wat" said Germany as Italy leaped into his arms. They ascended to the stars and bathed in the unforgiving moonlight. "Scarlet skies will last forever" said Germany as they flew through the atmosphere. They lived forever among the stars.
