Chapter 8: Luigi's Jumping Adventure.
"Hm? Where are we now?" Luigi asked.
"Look around." Dimentio responded. "Don't you remember?"
"Oh yeah." Luigi said. "The Overthere Staircase. Just as beautiful as I remember."
The Overthere Staircase was a staircase made of clouds leading to the heavens.
"So…what's my goal?" Luigi asked.
"You seem eager." Dimentio stated.
"I can easily jump from cloud to cloud." Luigi said. "If my goal is to get to the top, then bring it on."
"Well." Dimentio began. "You certainly took the fun out of explaining. However, you did leave something out. Look under the cloud you're on."
Luigi looked below the cloud and noticed the other clouds were disappearing.
"Good luck." Dimentio said, preparing to teleport away. "Oh, and a cloud disappears every five seconds."
Dimentio teleported away.
'Don't worry.' Luigi thought. 'I can do this!'
Luigi began jumping towards the clouds above him and counted five second intervals.
'This isn't too bad.' Luigi thought. 'It's just like my morning warm-ups.'
He was very far ahead of the disappearing clouds. Nearly, eight minutes ahead. However he couldn't traverse any higher due to having no more clouds in reach of his jumps.
"Hey there." A voice said.
Luigi turned and saw a giant cloud that looked familiar.
"You're the man who gave me the red apple are you not?" It asked.
Luigi suddenly remembered the cloud. "Oh yeah. You're Cyrrus, right?"
"That's me." He responded. "Need help getting to the Overthere? Just jump on me."
"Don't mind if I do." Luigi said, jumping on Cyrrus.
After jumping on Cyrrus, nothing happened, just a small jump boost.
"Ah, ah, ah, no cheating." Dimentio's voice said. "I've configured clouds like him to only give a small jump boost."
Luigi looked at the clouds below and noted he only had a few more minutes left.
"Cyrrus, can you float?" Luigi asked urgently.
"Of course I can." Cyrrus responded. "What kind of cloud would I be if I couldn't float?"
"Okay, I need you to float upwards while I continuously jump on you." Luigi instructed. "Are you ready?"
"Let's do it!" Cyrrus yelled.
Luigi jumped onto Cyrrus and they began their ascension toward the Overthere. Luigi quickly looked below him and noticed there were no longer any other clouds.
"Nearly there." Cyrrus said. "Get ready to jump!"
The clouds above them were still there. Once they were high enough, Luigi continued to jump from cloud to cloud.
"Thanks a bunch, Cyrrus!" Luigi yelled.
Once he got to the top, he noticed Dimentio standing on a platform to his right. Luigi began sprinting as fast as he could towards Dimentio and made it onto the platform before the cloud he was standing on disappeared.
"Congratulations." Dimentio said. "You've completed yet another trial."
Luigi fell to his knees and began breathing heavily. "Yay."
"This was your second easiest trial." Dimentio said. "You're lucky I gave you this trial right after your second hardest."
Dimentio and Luigi returned to Castle Bleck with another trial complete.
