Chapter 17: Reunion
Everyone has gathered at the Inn and Mimi even brought a cake that was shaped like Luigi's hat.
"What was it like?" Mimi asked. "Facing Dimentio, I mean."
"It…it was dark and I felt really strange." Luigi responded. "It's kind of hard to describe."
"Ah, forget about that clown." Bowser said. "He's gone and you're back. That's all that matters."
"Yeah, I guess you're right." Luigi said with a smile.
"By the way, how long until you can get out of here?" Bowser asked.
"The Innkeeper said I should be able to get out a by tomorrow." Luigi responded. "It's too bad Mario and Peach couldn't make it here. But knowing them, they're probably at Isle Delfino having a great time."
There was dead silence in the room.
"Y-yeah." Bowser finally said. "They…even got married."
"Really?!" Luigi asked. "Good for them! I always knew they'd pull through!"
"What are you doing?" Mimi whispered into Bowser's ear.
"What?" Bowser whispered back. "You want me to rip his heart out after he's survived a few years struggle to keep his body?"
Mimi paused for a moment and whispered, "Fair point."
The celebration went on until night time and everyone had to leave due to visiting hours being over.
"I'll see you tomorrow." Daisy said, waving as she left the Inn.
Now Luigi was all alone in the Inn, with the exception of the fragment of Dimentio.
'I'd like to see it now.' Luigi thought.
'Very well.' Dimentio said. 'Warning: you will be transparent during your visit to the past. So please refrain from unnecessary yelling to try and save someone or something.'
'Got it.' Luigi thought. 'I'm ready.'
Luigi's physical body fell asleep and Luigi found himself in a wheat field.
"Please follow me." Dimentio said, floating in the air. "There is much to see."
