***Your POV***

I hated how I fled all the time. Hated it.

I couldn't help it though, it's just how I am.

Unfortunately...

The few weeks that went by couldn't have come sooner, so I could hopefully put this behind me. Although, I knew I won't be out of the spotlight. Not if Mindy screamed the island down. Everyone has probably heard about Zane and I 'apparently' being a couple. We're not though!

My thoughts were soon halted by a comforting voice.

"Mia?" Syrus questioned, his bag swung over his shoulder, his small hand clutching onto the handle. "Are you ok?"

I shrugged lightly, feeling my insides sinking. He sat down next to me in the shadow of a large tree, just on the outskirts of the forest. We were sat facing the academy, watching as other students went about their ways like they would every morning.

"I don't know," I replied quietly. "I really don't... I feel like a fake. A fraud. I bet everyone thinks that I am pathetic. That I don't belong here."

"No they don't!" Syrus squealed in a reassuring way. "I heard what's been going around,"

"Oh..."

"Is it true? About you and big bro?" I could see a hidden glimmer of excitement behind his eyes. I know he is trying to make me feel better, but I also knew that he would love it if Zane and I dated. Well, their mother would too.

I shook my head a little.

"Oh," He sighed, what he said net shocked me a little by his bluntness. "Did you want to?"

I blinked hard, my eyebrows rising high.

"W-what?"

"I'm sure if I spoke to him for you-"

"No, Sy!" I quickly grabbed his arm and pulled him back to the ground, his bad slumping to the grass. I could see the look he gave me, looking confused, even a little hurt. I tried to repair this. "Sorry... I just," I exhaled heavily, releasing his arm from my hand.

"Hey guys!" A voice called out to us, the running footsteps getting closer.

"What's up, Jay?" Syrus greeted, looking surprised that Jaden actually ran.

"Do you have partners yet for the assignment?"

The two of us looked up at the panting teenager, tired from running to us.

"Yeah, Jay, I paired up with Chumley. I thought you knew about this assignment?"

"I was asleep, Sy!" Jaden's hands threw themselves up in the air before coming crashing down into his hair, his fingers delving through the strands and tugging harshly. A long drawn out moan sounded from him as he grumbled. "Man...Crowler is going to kill me! I bet everyone has a partner now too."

"I don't, Jaden." I spoke up to him. His eyes whipped from the ground and pierced straight into mine, looking desperate.

"Will you pair up with me, Mia?!" Jaden gushed. I smiled a small smile to myself and nodded lightly. Within a second my back was forced upon the trunk of the tree, my body being squeezed tightly. "You are a life saver!" Jaden pulled back a little, his face only a few inches from mine.

I could feel my cheeks heat up...damn it. I hope it isn't noticeable.

His bright smile and now-cheery face was all I could see, his mischievous brown eyes looking relieved.

***Alexis' POV***

I'm glad that Mindy's events, shall we say, have died down. Luckily, it wasn't thought much of a few days after the rumour.

"You do need to control yourself, Mindy." Jasmine began. All three of us were taking a stroll in the hot sun, soaking in the rays. "You're lucky that Mia forgave you."

"I did say I was sorry!" Mindy whined slightly. "I didn't mean to, I just got so excited-"

"Yes well control yourself next time Mindy, yeah?" I sighed, trying to stop her before she goes on another one of her rants again. It was then we came across Zane walking towards us, his expression the same as always. Of course. What else would it be?

"Zane? Out for a walk are we?"

"Hmm," Zane replied with his usual grunt as we all stopped our tracks. Mindy's arms stretched far beyond her head as she span around, happy to be in the sun. I could tell that Zane wasn't too impressed with the whole rumours that have been going around, we had a chat, well...I did most of the talking when we were next to the lighthouse. Seems to be his favourite hide out.

"Ooo," Mindy awed suddenly, curiosity oozing from her sound.

"What now, Mindy?" Jasmine sighed, her arms folded across her chest.

All three of us dragged our eyes in the direction that Mindy was pointing to. I blinked in surprise at what we saw.

Jaden was quite close to Mia, his arms wrapped around her with that characteristic grin plastered upon his face. Syrus was there too, laughing along with him.

I felt a small pang in the pit of my stomach as my eyes crept to the corners, attempting to get a look at the emotionless Zane that stood beside me.

"Jaden is getting a bit close to Mia, eh Zane?" Mindy purred a little, getting excited at the sight.

I could see that Mia was blushing from the closeness of Jaden.

"Mia and Jaden? Huh..." Jasmine pondered, as if she was actually considering what they would be like if they were together. A couple.

"Don't be ridiculous," I laughed dryly, covering it badly. "They're just kidding around. Jaden is like that with everyone."

I wasn't so sure... Yes, Jaden did tend to express his emotions on the edge of his sleeve, but this was a little...overboard, shall we say.

"He hasn't let go yet." Jasmine said, pointing out the obvious.

"Well, DUH!" Mindy exploded, a giant girlish squeal deafened our ears. "Jaden is SO boyfriend material!"

"You say that about every guy, Mindy. You like Chazz, who's next, Bastion?" Jasmine tutted.

"Well, he is cute!"

"Typical Mindy." I laughed to myself a little, shaking my head. "What do you think, Zane?"

My smile melted into nothing slowly as my eyes fell upon his stone cold expression, his eyes glazed over as he remained blank. His words were just as icy.

"Why should I care?"

"But-," Zane stepped around my side and coolly walked away, his back stiff and as usual I get nothing out of him.

Absolutely nothing.

...typical.
