Disclaimer: I do not own Big Time Rush!
Okay, I'm back! I can't pick a story to focus on because I want to write them all so much lol. Of course, I have this, Our Mistakes, and The Other Option in progress. WHich one do you want me to focus on first? Let me know in a review?
Chapter 10
I woke up to the sound of Carlos' voice. He was on the phone with someone. I opened my eyes to him smiling as he was talking.
"I love you too mom," he smiled. "Happy Mother's Day!"
I smiled lightly. He made a kissy noise into the phone before hanging up. It was then that he seemed to notice me.
"Oh, sorry Loges, I didn't mean to wake you up," he said.
"You're good," I sat up. "I needed to get up."
I got out of bed and got into the shower. I couldn't help but think about my mom, all the way in Minnesota and how she wanted nothing to do with me. That's still my biggest regret, how I chose Chad over my own parents. I really was not thinking.
I sighed, turning off the shower and getting ready for the day. I headed downstairs and Carlos put a plate of breakfast in front of me.
"You didn't make us any breakfast," James complained.
"You were already eating when I came down here," Carlos said.
Carlos glanced at me and I caught his eye. He was silently telling me he understood…I guess I had told him a bit about my parent issues didn't I?
"Logan, don't forget to call your mom," James said. "Mother's day is important."
Carlos gave me another look behind James' head that said, I'm so sorry! Kendall was looking between the two of us. I guess everyone knew but James I guess. I hesitantly pulled out my phone and dialed the house number, putting the phone to my ear.
The phone rang…and rang…and rang. Of course, she ignored it when she saw it was my number, but I decided to leave a message when the beep came.
"Um, hey mom. I just wanted to say Happy Mother's Day…I love you, and miss you," I said quietly.
I hung up the phone and tried not to look too sad, but obviously it didn't work.
"Did I miss something?" James looked at the three of us. "I'm sorry Logan."
"Its fine James, you didn't know," I shrugged. "She won't talk to me, not the other way around."
I awkwardly ate my breakfast before leaving with Kendall and Carlos. Another day, another dollar. It was slightly sickening to see all of the mother's day stuff going on around me. Even Kendall was running a "bring your mother in and she eats half off" promotion.
I clocked in, not feeling particularly happy about this day. I wasn't bitter about it, I was sad and angry with myself. The more I think about it, the more I wonder how I could've been so dumb. I want to be angry with my parents because they should be there for me regardless, but I couldn't find myself doing that either.
I told myself I was going to ignore it, and put on a smile anyway. It was just a day…the day that reminded me of how much my mother has done for and to me, good and bad. I headed out to take on my first table of the day.
"Make sure her food is really hot and fresh. My mom deserves the very best," the son smiled.
"Yes sir," I forced a smile, heading to the back to give the order.
I went to work on the some other tables, hearing about how great of a mother these women were, and I didn't doubt it because they were all really nice, I just wish I could talk to my own.
Finally, my break came around so I went into Kendall's office and pulled out my cell phone, calling my parents once again. I sat against the wall, the only sound coming from the phone, which was just waiting to be answered.
The answering machine came up and I sighed, hanging up the phone and putting my head in my hands.
"Logan?" Kendall asked.
When did the door open? I looked up to look at him, putting on a smile.
"Aw Logan," Kendall frowned. "Why don't you go home for the day? I hate to see you like this."
"I'm fine," I lied.
"You're crying."
I hadn't even noticed.
"Oh," was all I could say.
"Here," he put the keys in my hand. "Go home, I'll still pay you for the time."
"Kendall, you're a life saver," I smiled. "It's kind of like torture being out there today."
"I noticed," he chuckled lightly. "Now get out of here."
I nodded, getting up from the floor and going home. I was going to find a way to enjoy the day.
Carlos POV
I was talking to a customer when I noticed that Logan was leaving out of the corner of my eye, so when I was done, I walked over to Kendall.
"Where's Logan going?" I asked.
"Home," he said. "He couldn't handle today. I feel sorry for him."
"I know, his parents are such a touchy subject for him," I said. "I want to do something."
"Like what?" Kendall gave me a look.
"I'll think of something," I said. "I want him to be like Logan, and he isn't when parts of his past are brought up."
"But you can't fix everything," Kendall pointed out.
"You're right," I shrugged. "But I can surely try."
"You know, I have to admire your bull headedness and your determination to make all of you…"friends" happy," Kendall smirked.
"Why'd you say friend like that?" I asked.
"No reason," he smiled, turning and walking away.
I ignored him, thinking more about how I could help Logan.
Logan's POV
I sat on the couch…even shows on TV were all mother's day episodes. I turned it off, grabbing my laptop. I opened it up and went to google, seeing at the top, "Have you told your mother how much you loved her today yet?"
I sighed, closing that too. There had to be something I could do that wouldn't remind me of today. I looked at my phone, I didn't have any texts; oh yeah, because all of my friends are working.
I just opened up a game on my phone and decided I was going to do that. I opened the app and, "Download our mother's day update!"
"Unbelievable!" I locked my phone.
I got up and went upstairs, falling down onto our bed. I was just going to take a nap, and hopefully when I woke up this day will be over.
When I woke up, it was night time. I opened my eyes to see James standing in front of me.
"Hey Loges," he said.
"Hey," I sat up. "What'd I miss?"
"Nothing, we all just got home. Come downstairs, we have food?" James smiled, knowing that would sway me.
I was up instantly, following him downstairs. I walked into the kitchen to see 5 boxes of pizza stacked up.
"Uh…" I chuckled a bit.
"Well, we felt bad about today and I know its nothing much but we're going to try and make you feel better by having a movie marathon and drowning ourselves in pizza," James explained.
"One box for each of us," Kendall said.
"The fifth one is extra because we're men," Carlos added.
"…Ok then," I smiled. "What movie are we watching?"
"We're starting with transformers," Carlos smiled excitedly.
I smiled and the four of us grabbed a pizza box each and cuddled (not like that) comfortably on the couch to start watching our first movie. These guys are great, sure it was small, but they did it to try and cheer me up and it worked. We watched Transformers, Mean Girls, the Fault in our Stars (because they just wanted to start a cry fest) and some others before we finally called it a night.
After we cleaned up, Carlos and I headed upstairs.
"I have one last surprise for you," Carlos said.
"What?" I asked.
"We're going out of town this weekend," Carlos smiled. "You and me."
"But the restaurant," I started.
"Kendall already approved it," Carlos said. "It's my way of trying to make up for this sucky day."
"I can't just let you do that," I said.
"Psh, you can't say no because we already have play tickets," he snorted.
"Fine…" I sighed. "Where are we going?"
"You'll find out when we get there," he winked. "Now go to bed."
I wanted to be play angry, but I found myself smiling, and excited. I guess I would find out where we were going in a few days.
Cargan is soon...I promise : D
