Chapter 15
Last night was pretty amazing if I do say so myself. When I first got here, I didn't think for a second that I was ready to be back in a relationship, but I knew that I liked Carlos. Just a few months later, I can now say that I am with Carlos and he's made it so easy.
After Chad, I was honestly afraid of men and relationships, and I always had a doubt in my mind that even if Carlos liked me, I wouldn't have a successful relationship with him, and that still may be true, but deciding to give it a try was much easier than I thought it would be.
When I woke up, he wasn't next to me; out on his run I suppose. I got out of bed and got ready for the day before going downstairs. When I walked in, James and Kendall were sitting at the table talking while Carlos was cooking.
"Morning guys," I smiled.
"Hey," Kendall and James smiled.
Carlos walked over to me, giving me a quick kiss on the lips.
"Good morning beautiful," he smiled.
I blushed at the compliment. I glanced at Kendall and James, who both looked intensely surprised.
"ITS ABOUT TIME!" Kendall yelled, causing the both of us to laugh.
"I can't say I'm surprised," James chuckled.
I smiled knowing that Kendall and James approved.
"We're going on an official date tonight," Carlos said.
"Where?"
"You'll find out," he winked. "Dress how you would dress for a first date."
"That doesn't help."
"You'll figure it out," he said. "It doesn't matter what you wear, you're still going to look amazing."
"Awwww," Kendall and James chorused.
I laughed at the two.
"Be ready at 7, that's when I'm picking you up," he said.
"But we'll be together already?"
"Oh, Carlos has to work today but you don't," Kendall said.
"I have the day off?"
"Yeah, you deserve it," Kendall smiled.
"Thanks Kenny," I smiled, sitting down for my breakfast.
"I don't have work today either," James said. "We should hang, and like go to the mall and stuff."
"Say no," Carlos said.
"SAY NO," Kendall also said.
James rolled his eyes at the two.
"Come on, we can bond more," James said.
"Sure James," I said.
Kendall and Carlos shared a look before shaking their heads.
SAVE ME FROM HELL
"Which one?" James held up two shirts.
"Uh…left one," I pointed.
So, we were at the mall. I understand why Carlos and Kendall told me to say no, I've basically been helping James pick out what he's going to wear so he can remain "beautiful". Personally, I don't really mind it, but I can understand their frustration.
"So, are you ready for your date tonight?" he gave me a weird smile.
"Yeah, I'm kind of nervous."
"Why, you two are perfect for each other."
"You really think so," I found myself smiling.
"I know so," he winked. "It's good that Carlos found someone like you. You're really the only one that can keep him happy."
"Well, what about you and Kendall?" I asked.
"We're his friends, so we can only do so much. You have no idea, when you weren't around, he was gushing about you. Being able to help you is bringing back that Carlos confidence and it's great. You make him happy, just keep him that way."
I just sat there for a second, taking in what James was saying.
"What about you and Kendall?" I asked.
"What about me and Kendall?" he shrugged.
"Do you two have an eye on someone?" I chuckled.
"I think Kendall still has hopes of being with Jo, but for me, I like to fly solo. I go on dates, but not any long-term relationships right now. I'm way too busy."
"There's nothing wrong with that," I shrugged.
"Really?" James looked surprised. "Most people hate the fact that I just date and always think I'm a man whore when that isn't the case."
"I mean, if you don't like long-term relationships then you don't, why should it matter to me?"
"You're awesome Loges," James smiled. "What are you wearing tonight?"
"I don't know, can you help me pick something when I get home?" I asked.
"Let's pick something now, I'll buy you an outfit," James said. "So, what do you want to do tonight?"
"Well…I don't know where Carlos is taking me?"
"He's letting you decide," James said. "All he said was dress how you would for a first day, so he's choosing something based on how you dress, so again, what do you want to do tonight?"
"Uh, something not too expensive and fun, like bowling," I suggested.
"Okay, so dress casual," James started looking around.
We started looking through all of the clothes and I tried on so many different things before I ended with one outfit.
"I think you look great," James commented.
"Really? It still has to grow on me a bit."
I was wearing a pair of cream-colored pants, a gray and black striped shirt with a gray jacket over top. I actually did look good but I had to get used to the style.
"You have a pair of black and white vans right?"
"Yeah," I nodded.
"Perfect, put those on and I'll do your hair. You're guaranteed to look smokin'," James said.
SAVE ME FROM HELL
James was putting gel in my hair and styling it in a groovy updo.
"My hair looks so stiff," I commented.
"But it looks amazing," James said.
"I have to give it to you, I do look hot. Thanks James for your help," I said.
"Don't thank me, thank Carlos when he gives you that di-"
"James…"
"Sorry," we both started laughing.
I heard the door open downstairs.
"Logan!" Carlos called.
"In James' room," I called back.
"Don't come in here!" James yelled. "Go get ready then you can see your man!"
"I hate you James!"
"Love you too!"
I heard Carlos walk down the hall and go into our room before closing the door. A few seconds later, James' door opened and Kendall walked in. He whistled when he saw me.
"I'd date you if I was gay," Kendall said.
"Thanks? I owe this look to James."
"What are you shooting for?"
"Bowling," James said.
"Isn't that a tad over the top for bowling?"
"Not without the jacket, he can take it off before Carlos sees him," James said.
"True," Kendall said.
"Okay is this whole how you dress thing like between you three because I've never heard of it," I said.
"Logan, it's like a rule of dating," James laughed.
"Maybe I'm just inexperienced," I shrugged.
"Come on, lets wait downstairs for Los," Kendall said.
I nodded and the three of us walked downstairs, sitting on the couch.
"I'm nervous," I said.
"Don't be. It's Carlos, the most easygoing guy I know," James said.
He did have a point, Carlos was probably the most laid back person I've ever met. It was a few minutes later that he came down, looking smoking hot! He stopped when he saw me.
" .amazing."
I blushed at the compliment.
"So do you," I laughed.
"So, I was thinking we start basic. Dinner and bowling?" he asked.
"Sounds great to me," I glanced at James who winked.
"Alright boys, I want you home by midnight," Kendall joked.
"Yes mom," Carlos laughed.
Carlos grabbed the car keys and together we walked out. Time for our first date.
SAVE ME FROM HELL
"Boom, a strike for Logan Mitchell!" I laughed as I walked back over to Carlos.
"Good job babe," he chuckled. "We're really close in score."
It was true; this is the fifth game we're bowled. I've won two and Carlos has won two, this is our tiebreaker and this is the last frame.
"I was ahead of you so all I need is a spare," Carlos stuck out his tongue.
He stepped forward ready to bowl. He swung his arm back and let it go. I watched to see if he was going to get it because if he won, I would have to buy dinner for both of us. I watched in anticipation as the ball hit the pins.
…
"Stupid 7/10 split," Carlos whined as we excited the buiding.
"Hush, you still bowled great," I said.
He smiled, kissing my cheek.
"So did you," he said. "So…dinner? Where we feelin?"
"You're paying, anywhere is fine," I said.
He shrugged and we got in the car. He drove us to AppleBee's, which was fine with me. We went inside and got a table, waiting for the waiter to come. When he finally came, he got our drink orders and we started looking at the menu.
"I don't know what to get," Carlos said.
"When in doubt, get a hamburger."
"That's actually a good idea," he laughed.
After we decided, then we were just waiting for our drink orders so we can put in our real ones.
"What's taking this guy so long?" Carlos asked.
"I don't know, but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt since I understand his responsibility," I said.
"True," Carlos shrugged. "Oh, here he comes."
I turned and watched as he walked right past our table.
"Just kidding," Carlos chuckled.
I looked down at my menu once again because I was just hungry and getting tired of waiting.
"Good evening, I'll be your waiter today," I familiar voice said.
I looked up to see that it was Chad.
"Chad," I said, kind of losing all breath at once.
"Logan," he looked surprised. "…How are you?"
I glanced at Carlos, who didn't know what to do.
"No," I stood up. "I'm not eating here."
"Wait, what?" Chad asked.
"I don't trust you," I said. "I'm not eating here. Carlos, let's go."
"Sure thing," Carlos stood up.
"Wait Logan," Chad grabbed my arm.
I jerked my arm away.
"Don't you ever touch me," I said.
He stepped a bit closer before whispering.
"So are you with him now?" he asked. "You forgot about us?"
"Bye Chad, have a nice life."
I turned around.
"Logan," his voice was pleading.
I sighed before turning around again.
"I'm sorry. I miss you."
I chuckled a bit before shaking my head and walking out of the restaurant behind Carlos. We got into the car.
"Where to now," Carlos said.
"Let's just go home," I said.
"You sure?"
"Yeah…"
Carlos nodded before starting the car up and heading towards the house. I just couldn't believe that I saw him. He tried to apologize, which I knew was a lie. I hadn't once thought about him and now he just pops back up, it just stirred up some emotion I guess and I just wasn't in the mood for anything now. I probably ruined all of Carlos plans.
We pulled into the driveway and I got out, going inside. I walked into the living room where Kendall and James looked surprised to see us.
"Back so soon?" Kendall looked worried.
"We saw Chad," Carlos said.
I knew he was bummed.
"Hey Loges, you okay?" James asked.
"I don't know," I was pacing. "I just freaked out."
"It was my fault, I chose that place. I wish I had known," Carlos said.
I walked over to Carlos.
"It wasn't your fault," I said. "And the date wasn't ruined. I had an amazing time."
"Really?"
"Of course, I was with you," I smiled, pulling him into a tight hug. "Thank you for being there Carlos."
"I'll be there when you need me," He said into my ear, holding me. "Always."
You know me by now, I had to add a little twist. Will Chad continue to be involved in Logan's life?
